The most common mistake is overwatering. I'd like to know from as many people as possible what they think works best for them

Let's say you got your plants in 11 litre pots with approx. 10 litres of coco or coco/perlie - coco/soil whatever.

To make it more common let's say you add water and wait till the medium is getting real dry - I test that by lifting the pot / weight or by sticking a finger inside the holes at the bottom.

How much water would you add then, so that it is enough for at leat 3 days ?

1,5 litre

2 litre

2.5 litre

3 litres

3.5 litres

The more you water the more drainage is leaving - that may/may not be beneficial.

Imo you can do that once per month to make sure no parts of the medium is blocked - but usual with Coco/perlite it is not really needed more than once per grow.

Anyway

Back to the question

half a litre daily = 1.5 litres in that case

1 litre = 3 litres.

more or something in between pick your choice

Thanks

Hi guys,

I have just flushed my plants and I can't get the pH lower than 6.2. I'm growing in 20 L pots with coco. I firstly maxed up 60 L of weak base nut and house and garden drip cleaner at 0.5 ec and pH 5.5 I flushed until first run off and collected 20ml to check the ec and pH then continued to put the rest of the 60 L's through and then collected another 20 ml of the final run off water to check. The first sample taken had a ec 1.7 and pH of 6.6 the final sample had an ec of 0.7 and a pH of 6.2, still a long way away from a pH equal to the water going in, so I mixed up another 60 L. I'll make the rest quick. Put the 60L through followed the same process of sampling. Final ec 0.5 ( perfect) pH 6.2 (wtf).

6 times the volume of the pot went through to bring the pH down by .4, I'm confused.... I wanted to get the coco down to at least 5.8 as I'm only in week 3 of flowering and ideally I'd like to finish at about 6.4 but if I can't get it down any further it will finish at around 7.

Confused and in need of some advice

Herb.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place or there is already a thread on this subject.
so after the last round I decided to demolish my room and transform it into a tree paradise. inspiration was a long time ago by Heath Robinson and this would be my take on "improved" indoor tree setup.

my plan is to go with 6 x 600W and 1 x 1000W. 12 plants in a flower-of-life formation(scheme in atach). each would have a 30L(diameter of 40cm) pot filled with pure coco and would be eighter hand fed or dtw... around them would be a chicken wire(10x10cm) for a diameter of 40cm and height of 2m(with the pot). the room has 2m+ celling so I can push them to be as big as 180cm.

and now to the strains. since I just hate multistrain grow I am looking for a perfect hybrid, sativa-ish like grow but with huge buds. veg time would be like the flower time so I can flower one round while next one is veging at the same time.

so in the pic you can see the arangement. the room is 3x3m and each circle is 60cm in diameter(pot's are 40cm). red is light, green are plants.

I would like to openly discuss the setup and find the right strain. info, sugestions, experience and pics are more than wellcome.

bless ya all,

peace

man

[Hey guys. I have wondered on various mary jane lovers sites for last couple of months. The thing Ive learned for sure is there is never only one way to do something when growing. I dont know how to start so ill put it simply, im confused. Cant decide whether to grow in a growbox or build my grow room. For the first few times, ill probably be growing autos because of lower maintenance. The next thing would be size of box/room. Now, i know its like asking papers or blunts, everyone has their opinion, so ill be as thorough as i can. So, my plan is 600, 1000 or two 600w lights in flower room. Image i have in my brain is a room not to big for a 600w but not too small for 1000w or 2x600w. Im pretty sure 1 square meter is enough for 600, but adding another one makes it all different. Should the box/room be square with two lamps or wide? What about 1000w? Having asked, another question comes to mind (next to a thousand more), how many plants under this powerful lights? Now, this is the most scrutinized question noobs ask (yeah, im a noob too). I found many techniques out here, sog, scrog, lst, fim, topping etc. My goal is to simplify and maximize grow and yield as much as i can, and if this combo is possible it'd be the best solution for me. Im not so sure how im going to handle cutting branches for the first grow so if i could skip that it would be great (autos maybe?). If its a good idea, i was thinking 4 autos under 600, or more? I wont be using DWC, hydro, aero, probably not even soil, coco all the way (for now), so that is clear. Is there a difference in yield if more plants are grown or it doesnt matter because of the light? I was planning on buying Arjans seeds (king of cannabis huh?), so Greenhouse seeds is my choice and their Powder feeding (im a practical guy). Going slightly off topic, I eas browsing Strainhunters forum journals and their Powder fed plants look amazing. The next thing is probably the type of system/medium i should use. I was thinking about coco and clay pebble 50/50 mix with simple hand watering. This also opened up some questions for me. What pot sizes, how much water, nutrients, feeding schedules for veg/bloom yadayadayada. Air circulation is not a problem, i think. A fan for intake, carbon filter and a fan for extracting filtered air. What about controlling room temp, humidity and my plants growth. Im not on a budget, but i also dont want to spend green on unnecessary equipment. Ph, ec, humidity meter and things like that are a must have, but a co2 tank and r/o system are not. You get the way im thinking? Im very detail oriented guy so numbers and charts are my thing, common sense not so much, so if you feel like writing please do. Thanks for your input, im looking forward to talking about the bud we love.

I have seen many different responses to questions on ph of coco some say u treat it like hydroponic and some say to treat it like soil. From what i know its closer to hydro. but what if there is amendments? after all alot of potting soil is just coco with some amendments, some are peat based and some a both none of them are actually soil. or things like bat guano, teas, greensand, gypsum/lime, epsom salts, humus, kelp, sea based products, fish emulsion, or just organic liquid nutrients, Are these things going to affect the ideal ph?. Does the medium have to be completely inert to be treated as hydroponic or are there some exceptions but not all? if the medium has to be inert then would things like teas change that. OR can only specifically hydroponic nutes be used to be treated as hydroponic? I under stand that there is not one ideal PH IN veg you want a lower ph then in flowering and with longer flowering plants the PH will be even higher before harvest I understand PH for hydroponic and soil but i think alot of the people giving PH info don't really under stand that pottng soils are actually a soilless mix and some completely coco based. possibly things like compost could define a soil because there is general alot of bugs and organisms in compost as well as humus.

IF anyone Has any input id greatly appreciate it, basically what i really neeed to understand is what draws the line between soil and hydro is it just the introduction organic amendments?

Seeds arrived from Herbie's today. Great service, no problems. I only have space for two maybe three girls. 3.5'X3.5'X5'. Being my first autoflower grow, I would greatly appreciate any advise, comment or critique of the strains I received to help me make the decision as to which 3pack to start with. Anyone who has grown or smoked these autos is encouraged to reply. I received Lowryder#2, Barney's Critical Rapido, Advanced Biodiesel Mass and as freebies I got Royal Queen's Bluematic and Royal Queen's Royal Cheese. Plan to sprout by April 1st.

Thanks in advance for your response. Bongwater

Hey folks, I've had bad day

Starts with finding an open male pollen sack on one of my 3 week into flower WW clones the other day. Could have been there for god knows how long . It got destroyed. Then found tiny green seeds growing on my Afghani, hunted around and found more newly developed seeds appearing on my WW. HELP!!!!!

How long will it take for seeds to grow bigger within the bud? Am I ok leaving this for a couple of days before I chop? How big can seeds get in a few days. Started the flush yesterday and would need at least a few days more Wanted at least a week. They are just ready, some amber trichs on them. I don't want these seeds to get much bigger. Should I take them tomorrow? Leave a few days? Id rather have poorly flushed weed than seed weed.

Anyone know the speed of seed growth? Is probably all I should have said to start with. I've had a rough few hrs Time for a joint I think

I've been using brick coco for a while now and the best way i found to flush it and prep it for use ...Get a 5 gallon bucket fill half ways with hot water and add a few pieces of your brick into the bucket...I like to use a old knife and stab it down the center tap it with a hammer a few times and the brick should split in half (Warning!! try not to be too stoned doing this and you might stab yourself...ahhaha) ...After soaking for 30 minutes in the 5 gallon bucket the coco should now have expanded ...Get a 5 gallon Smart pot ( any size will work just depends on how much you are doing at once) Than sit it in your sink or bath tub, pour all your soaking coco that was in the 5 gallon bucket into the smart pot...Let drain for a bit, than squeeze the smart pot together to fully drain water from coco...Turn on water form bath tub or facet and rinse again...Squeeze,, rinse and keep doing this process for at least 3-5 times til you see run off completely clear...After this you should have fully rinsed coco ready to use .....

I will try and get some pictures added pretty soon ...

Its a lot easier when people have pictures to look at...I'm pretty bad and explaining this in words...ahhaha

Hope this helps a few people out there that are using brick coco.....

there are lots of benificial bacteria and microzoa on the market for root health ,stimulation, revival and protection. the way these " good guys" work is they inhabit your plants root mass breaking down hard to absorb nutriants making the easy to absorb. another type of benificial is protective micro organizems like preditory nemotoads and bti viris.nemotoads attach and eat fungus knat larva as well as other soil dwelling larva. bti viris infects only fungus knats(well any thing in the midge family including misquitos), breeds in there stomoch, the kills varva and releasing move viris. i have used a product for more then a year now that combinds them all (except the nemotoads) called microbe brew by fox farms

10 gal pot of coco that was treated with microbe brew
