		<p style="text-align:justify;">
			The plant is an East coast Legend- brought to Amsterdam by our Boston friend.  It’s an incredibly fast, short and fat plant.  It looks different then what you are used to-  some purple and crazy pink color and it’s full of terpenes.
		</p>

		<p style="text-align:justify;">
			This 100% Indica gives a very unique flavor, like nothing you’ve ever smelled or tasted before. The first time we smoked it in Amsterdam we had great time but kept forgetting our keys so we named it “stupid bud”-  be warned- The MOB® is strong medicine! The first entry ever by MOB® was at the prestigious Expo grow Cannabis Cup in Irun 2015 -  it won 2nd Place in Indica category - much more to come.

<p>
	Hi All,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'm a newby grower.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I've recently started a new grow with seeds bought from a seedbank (current grow is nearing completion - 2 bag seeds, no idea of strain).<br /><br />
	Anyhoo, I have germinated feminized four seeds: Dutch Kush; Duch Dragon; Nebula; and White Berry (all from Paradise Seeds).<br /><br />
	All four germinated in soggy tissue although the White Berry was a very small seed and had only just cracked when I planted into 'TROPIC BAT MIX'.<br /><br />
	They're in a 0.6m x 0.9m x 0.6m Bay 6 tent under a 125w CFL (Blue).  Humidity is ~ 80% and temp ~ 83°F.<br /><br />
	Dutch Kush and Nebula are bottom left and bottom right respectively.<br /><br />
	I'm going to be using the Shogun range of fertilizers, although not for a while as the Tropic Bat Bix should do for the next 4-5 weeks I think.
</p>

<p>Making your own STS feminization mixture for a few bucks</p><p>You need:</p><p>Silver nitrate - AgNO3 (only expensive part of STS) – can be found on ebay or chem shop, cost is about 30$/10g - 10g will last for 12l of foliar spray!!!</p><p>Sodium Thiosulfate or Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate - Na2S2O3 or Na2S2O3-5H2O - can be found on ebay or chem shop.</p><p>Distilled or RO water, kitchen or medical gloves, syringes, plastic bottles.</p><p>Mixture A</p><p>Take your scale – you need<strong> 1.7g of AgNO3</strong> – <strong>use gloves</strong> and be carefull cause AgNO3 will leave dark black marks almost impossible to clean on your skin. But don't worry - they will stay for a few months – new skin new look <img src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/emoticons/default_wink3.gif" alt=";)" srcset="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" width="20" height="20"></p><p>Add 1.7g of AgNO3 to 100ml of distilled water.<strong> Dont use any metal objects</strong> – only plastic or glass! This is mixture A – it should be put in dark place [no direct light!] or in the dark plastic bottle.</p><p>Mixture B</p><p><strong>6.32g of Na2S2O3 or 9.92g of Na2S2O3-5H2O</strong> - add it to 400ml of water. It doesnt have to be distilled water but it is better to use it. You can add 6.3 or 9.9 if you have 0,0 scale. This is mixture B. You dont have to protect it from light.</p><p>Mixture A and mixture B can be stored for a long time in a dark place.</p><p>Mixture STS</p><p>Now we can make STS: you take 5ml of mixture A and 20 ml of mixture B – slowly stiring you add A to B and have mixture STS. STS is not as stable as mixture A and B alone and should be use as fast as possible. It is better to make amonut of STS you use in one foliar spraying.</p><p>Now we have STS so we can use 1:2, 1:3 or 1:4 concentration. It means you add your mixed STS to water. Concentration means: 1:2 – 1 part STS 2 parts water [25ml STS + 50ml water], 1:3 [25ml STS + 75ml water] etc. Now you can use this mixture for foliar spraying.</p><p>It is best to start from 1:3 concentration – if nothing happens you can use stronger concentrations. All depends on experience, strain and other factors. Some strains are easy to herm – some not.</p><p>It is best to use STS as soon as flowering starts. Male bananas popping from female flowers will give you feminized pollen!</p><p>Peace brothers!</p>

</p>

<p>
	I grow with leds lights.
</p>

<p>
	I lst and scrog as well
</p>

<p>
	what I would like to know is how far do you have your lights away from your plants when in flowering
</p>

<p>
	the reason I ask this is because I only got 15 oz off 6 plants and I had 3 x 1500 watt leds
</p>

<p>
	i had my lights set at 18 inches above my plants.
</p>

<p>
	all my plants were healthy

<p>
	Hi,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	With the onset of winter, and the low temperature, I am happy to start a new indoor crop, a winter crop. My intention is to make a 100% Natural culture, 100% BIO. So .... What better occasion to try the BIO nutrients from Green House Feeding?
</p>

<p>
	In this crop I will use the new BIO nutrients from Green House Feeding (coming soon). It will be great to evaluate results personally. If you want to see how they work, or have any questions, maybe I can help solve it <img alt=":drinks:" data-emoticon="true" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/emoticons/default_drinks.gif" title=":drinks:"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This time I decided to use cuttings, instead of seeds. My intention is to grow a lot, before beginning the flowering. Maybe three or four weeks under 400w / 600w metal halide. Then, maybe the flowering will begin on the middle of January (if all goes well).
</p>

<p>
	It is an indoor of 1.2m2<br>
	With light 250w / 400w / 600w and 600w SL<br>
	Extraction and intraction system of air<br>
	Substrate:  soil - Normal soil / A little coconut fiber<br>
	Nutrients: Green House BIO Feeding<br>
	Containers: Smart Pot 12 Liters / 3 Gallons
</p>

<p>
	Ok, it's the first time thats I use Smart Pot containers, so you should have patience haha
</p>

<p>
	First of all, I want to put a little armalite / arlite (volcanic rock) on the bottom. This is to improve drainage, just put it a little.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6104.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64153" data-unique="o53wng996" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6104.jpg.0f521b34d923f913cb121bcca5b00548.jpg"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Actually, how is the first time thats I use this type of container .... I want to see the difference, So I add a classic container 12 liter / 3 gallon.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6110.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64154" data-unique="fcl91xta8" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6110.jpg.7a99bfdd404a6a1ef90650c8677cc509.jpg"></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">

</p>

<p>
	I put some earth, about halfway. And then I add some Green House Feeding BIO GROW.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6111.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64155" data-unique="7k2d7pp9e" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6111.jpg.c6f29a0f7ac446e21e363ed5b4af3e41.jpg"></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6118.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64156" data-unique="panlk1gwb" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6118.jpg.617c3e19b10ab915d853fbfd7a38b6c0.jpg"></p>

<p>
	According to the indications, 3gr / liter of BIO GROW should be used, for a standard culture of one month and a half, or two months of duration. I start with cuttings, so the growth period is only a few weeks or a month. I Use only half of the recommended dose, use 1.5 gr / liter.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6119.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64157" data-unique="f0bto0o4j" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6119.jpg.dd22e7626bde59f90ef0bc1df8ed5aca.jpg"></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">

</p>

<p>
	Once I added BIO GROW, I put more soil and put it all together. Be careful not to move the volcanic rock from the bottom. I try to make a good mix.
</p>

<p>
	Also I add a big handful of coconut fiber to each pot. I like to mix it up, to make it a little more fluffy, and keep the moisture better.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6125.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64158" data-unique="67h3eaxav" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6125.jpg.72ab80085a5acc7f58c9a8a730ca5415.jpg"></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">

</p>

<p>
	Now only the transplant is left. This part is boring and dirty, you have to be careful with the delicate roots of the cuttings.
</p>

<p>
	When the transplant is finished, I water the pots with water. Only water with PH set to 6.2  (about 1 liter per pot).
</p>

<p>
	Once finished, I like to add a bit of volcanic rock / arlite, on top. In this way I can retain moisture better, the soil does not dry out easily.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6138.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64159" data-unique="y89jutgk0" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6138.jpg.94c207b0743722be1cd460a2ea4e824f.jpg"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	At the moment, I will use 400w. only. In a few days, maybe 600w.
</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">
	<img alt="6145.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="64160" data-unique="gphupzktz" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2016_12/6145.jpg.0dd854ba4d7840f3c8b2cb022acbbe39.jpg"></p>

<p style="text-align: center;">

</p>

<p>
	The volcanic rock / arlite, has a horrible ph. You have to soak for several days, with a regulated pH (a bit acid). So that they stabilize. Always, before use.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	For now .... this is it <img alt=":)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/emoticons/default_smile3.gif" srcset="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x" title=":)" width="20"></p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This is my 3rd grow and boy have I come a long way. Im still not a pro, but I have learned alot.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	My second grow was unsuccessful because of my lack of experience in growing in promix coco coir. Heat also being an issue.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Anyways back to the Velvet Bud grow....
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Apparently Velvet bud is a descendent of Purple bud. Velvet bud is produced by Seedsman. I didn't pick this strain. It was given to me because of a order blunder from the local outlet...so this is how I ended up with it.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	My set up is:<span style="font-size:16px;background-color:rgb(18,18,18);"> </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;background-color:rgb(18,18,18);">800mm x 800mm x 1250mm  grow tent</span>
</p>

<p>
	400w MH/HPS
</p>

<p>
	400w digital ballast
</p>

<p>
	100mm centrifugal extractor fan
</p>

<p>
	4 x 20L pots
</p>

<p>
	Soil medium : promix coco coir perlite mix 50/50
</p>

<p>
	Pots lined with filter floss
</p>

<p>
	Hydroponics system using normal 3 part nutrients system. Grow nutes Micro nutes and Bloom nutes by EHG.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Seedling stage:
</p>

<p>
	3 out of 5 seeds germinated. Seedlings where ready for transplanting into the bigger pots after about 2 weeks. Used a humidity dome to keep the fellows warms as temps where still cool. I felt that the seedlings responded well to a temp of 24 celcius. 15% nutes of bloom grow and micro. Two seedlings flourished while the 3 guys lagged behind a bit. Unfortunately no pics of the seedling stage.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Vegative stage:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Once these guys got into the bigger pots they just took off. Ramping up the nutes gradually to 90 % of the recommended dosage with Grow, Micro and CalMag( a definite must for growing in coco coir).
</p>

<p>
	I only topped these plants once, then after a few days I LST the 4 main branches by pulling them down with pipe cleaners.<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171021_130005.jpg.32e53b371f132c68cb8355100e670781.jpg" data-fileid="69378" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69378" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171021_130005.thumb.jpg.94dea375db7bf5eec85f443cf8dd2c61.jpg" alt="IMG_20171021_130005.thumb.jpg.94dea375db7bf5eec85f443cf8dd2c61.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The above picture is after 3 weeks of vegging since I put the seedlings into these pots. Good vigorous growth for Velvet Bud!
</p>

<p>
	I ended up using an auto pot for one on the right. I also added an airstone and pump. You can clearly see the difference!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Im not doing any testing. Im just following the schedule on the nutrient bottle but dosing slightly less and seeing how the plants respond. I add a table spoon of CalMag to every 10L of normal tap water. 18/6 light schedule with MH globe.
</p>

<p>
	Temps where a little low so I added a temp sensor switch to my extractor fan. When the light comes on it also acts as a heater, so when the temp got to 25 celcius the extractor fan would come on and cool the tent and plants down with cool air from the outside.<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20180110_164204.jpg.180bc33fc4a1c608f1b31820fd48c871.jpg" data-fileid="69379" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69379" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20180110_164204.thumb.jpg.694e9fb32d407fe3a8f04ab0dbb1ff58.jpg" alt="IMG_20180110_164204.thumb.jpg.694e9fb32d407fe3a8f04ab0dbb1ff58.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Above is a picture of the temperature controller. The sensor is in the tent, it also has a heating as well as a cooling option. This controller really helps with keeping a constant temperature.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171025_180428.jpg.b87851c1bb0162871d483538c25880fd.jpg" data-fileid="69380" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69380" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171025_180428.thumb.jpg.23894e9c81b59a20609f3f3f2889d649.jpg" alt="IMG_20171025_180428.thumb.jpg.23894e9c81b59a20609f3f3f2889d649.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The above pic is at 4 weeks veg.
</p>

<p>
	Nice lush vigorous growth.Plant is looking really bushy and healthy. Velvet bud is responding well to the nutrients. Grow 20ml/10l, Micro 10ml/10l and Tblspn CalMag. Normal tap water with no testing.
</p>

<p>
	You're probably wondering what that piece of acrylic is for....well its a budget way to replicate a ventilated hood. I'm not using the temp controller anymore as the outside temps have risen so now I have the extractor fan running constantly. I had a piece of perspex(acrylic) clear cut to fit the tent perfectly. I used a holesaw to cut holes into the acrylic glass directly under where the globe would be. I did this because when the extractor fan creates the negative air pressure inside the tent, its will pull the tent tight around the edges of the acrylic and force the cool air from the bottom compartment into the above compartment directly over the globe therefore also keeping the globe cool and keeping my plants cool. Its also adjustable.
</p>

<p>
	<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171025_180446.jpg.eff1fc18f4d3c633e0bffffbab3ce2fc.jpg" data-fileid="69381" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69381" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171025_180446.thumb.jpg.89db597430ee5ffa9dfc5d3ac599995e.jpg" alt="IMG_20171025_180446.thumb.jpg.89db597430ee5ffa9dfc5d3ac599995e.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I also have been using a humidifier on and off. I usually only use it weather depending.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	During this time I also took six clones. I used a rooting hormone and rockwool cubes all six clones rooted after 10 days. Velvet Bud takes good clones!!! I gave 4 away (good karma) and added 2 clones to a fourth pot.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I had to leave for a month and had to ask very nicely if she would take care of them. I had to mod the grow to make it as easy as possible for her maintain. So I bought a tray to fit the tent and ripped out the single auto valve I had, stuck it in the center of the tray, chucked the plants in, filled the tray with hydroton balls, made a watering schedule and nutrient mix levels( 20ml/10l bloom 10ml/10l micro 1/2 Tblspn CalMag) 10l and Mondays and 10l on Thursdays and had to leave for a month wondering if my girlfriend would take good care of my babies........<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171203_205634.jpg.bb119e7caaac608c4b355ac984674fb0.jpg" data-fileid="69386" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69386" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171203_205634.thumb.jpg.fec35d21c3150849e9994a90f371ea52.jpg" alt="IMG_20171203_205634.thumb.jpg.fec35d21c3150849e9994a90f371ea52.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Whoo hooo!!! So after a month of flowering I return to this!!! Velvet Bud is looking so good and really is starting to smell so good. Nice sweet fruity smell ! My girlfriend did good!!! Box of chocolates for her!! <a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171203_205709.jpg.e5cdb3eeda79635cca84186a48573867.jpg" data-fileid="69387" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69387" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171203_205709.thumb.jpg.d1bb1c49469ee68f87def0b5670d67c6.jpg" alt="IMG_20171203_205709.thumb.jpg.d1bb1c49469ee68f87def0b5670d67c6.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I was mostly impressed with the two clones I had planted into the fourth pot front right in the picture. Heads as big as the rest and looking super healthy with fat nugs forming on the stems.<a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171229_220622.jpg.949a2c36d3424f234f439b04b80440b8.jpg" data-fileid="69388" rel=""><img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="69388" src="http://forums.strainhunters.com/uploads/monthly_2018_01/IMG_20171229_220622.thumb.jpg.5a54f762494a8fb01bfa66bb8ccc5461.jpg" alt="IMG_20171229_220622.thumb.jpg.5a54f762494a8fb01bfa66bb8ccc5461.jpg" /></a>
</p>

<p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The above pic is at 9 weeks flower. Buds are full of trichomes and have been flushing. Trichomes are not completely cloudy though so will defs have to go for another week.

	Back again after a break from social media!
</p>

<p>
	 I am starting this diary just before I put the plants into flower I did have issues with the coco  getting too hot temps got to 37°C  suffered a lot of root rot so I tried to take cuttings and forgot to put them under my strip  lights left them under the LED and cooked them thankfully I didn't totally destroyed the plants so I invested in some CX horticulture Regen-A-Root  which worked wonders they are a picture of health I have 2 pink lemonaid and 1 lemon jones.  I also have 4 tangilope DNA genetics and 2 cotton candy cane seedlings and I'm about to pick up a cutting of ice bomb and candy unsure of breeders.  I am using spectrum king LED 300W and 400w in flowering as outside temps have dropped! I am feeding them with, coco nutrients The cuttings I'm picking up are potted  into Canna terra soil so they will be fed With guano kelp potash and worm castings with occasional feeds of ecothrive charge and biosys.  I will put pictures up later as my data is very low speak to you soon
