4 likesThanks for all the encouragement! Coming from you guys that have been growing for years that means a ton..I have nothing but respect for all of you. I was talking to someone today who told me that when he started growing 15 years or more ago there was very little in the way of info, internet was barely there, gear and nutes were not anywhere near what they are today, and there were barely any hydro stores..so ya..you guys that started out hardcore with almost nothing..and to those who still do..nothing but respect! I've got some pretty awesome gear and I still have my issues and stress and it's still lots of work. But, I love it! You say planned like a pro..my wife says obsessive grower But she puts up with me lol..and she even has some great ideas. Today, while I was going on about switching the two plants in my veg dome over to flower, she said "Why don't you SCROG the 2 plants in the dome?..it'll be like a practice run"..she's right..and the space is perfect..plus SCROG should equal more yield Turns out the fencing I am using for screen fits perfect in the veg dome. I also decided to skip the CFL to flower the 2 in the dome..I'm gonna pay the extra $50 and get another LED Glow panel. I look at it this way, the LED offers more light output than the CFL, the bulbs last 50,000 hrs instead of 10,000...the LED will use 28 watts per hr while the CFL about 125 watts saving in electricity..better coverage for a scrog than the CFL..I think the extra $50 is worth it. 2 mornings ago, I transplanted the 2 in the veg dome into 12 liter containers, so far so good..they look great even just under the T5 Sunblaster..I have it about 28 cm above them right now..if anyone can tell me what the ideal height for a T5 fluorescent is I would appreciate it So, they will go under the screen in the next day or two, and then will go under the LED Wednesday, (payday lol) and they will be switched to flower in the near future. I lowered the height of the LEDS in the tent to 51 cm above the plants and did a bit of LST..I bent them to prepare them for the screen and to start to get some light to the lower and inner branches. I also added a layer of hydrotron to the top of the plants to help keep evaporation and need for watering down (the rockwool cubes dry out fairly quickly near the surface otherwise..and it helps develop a surface root system they say..it worked well in the smaller pots)...if anyone has any experience or suggestions with this particular use of the clay pellets please advise me Room temp & humidity - Night: Min - 22.5 deg C....Max. 25 deg. C Day: Min 24.5 deg C...Max 27 deg. C Humidity range 48 - 58 % Here are a few pics of them in their new homes..the last picture was taken this morning showing the recovery from the bending last night. I left the LEDS on this time in the pictures since it seems a lot of people like them taken that way. I am having a bit of a problem with a new leaf on my 1 pure kush that is in the tent, as you will see in the pictures. I'm not too concerned since the rest of the plant looks good, but if I should be or if anyone can tell me what it might be, please let me know. ALL COMMENTS AND ADVISE IS MORE THAN WELCOME!

4 likeshere you can see the different colors the hash can be!! it all depends on what strain you use, if the hash is still wet greenish when it dries it turns more brown!! When you press warm the color will turn darker then when you press cold (which I prefer) The way the trim is cut has also a lot to do with it, when its done with scissors it will be less green then when its cut with machines, the leafs will get cut up and the chlorophyll will come out and make the hash more green!! have a smoking day, Gobru

3 likesSince I only want to go back to the spots as few times as possible before harvesting I have to create a soil mix that, given ample rainfall of course, will get the plants thru the growing and blossoming process without adding any additional fertilizers over the coming months. Because there are no Grow Shops where I live you kinda have to make do with what you can get at Garden Centers. But as long as you use a premium quality fertilized potting soil with Perlite added that has the right PH, you're gonna be alright! The soil mix that each plants gets consists of: 30 liter Premium Quality Fertilized Potting Soil with Perlite and a Root Complex added 1,3 liter Worm Castings 3,3 liter Vermiculite 25 gram Bone Meal (Ground up Cow Horns) 25 gram Blaukorn (Bluekorn) 55 gram (Bat) Guano Kalong 60 gram Sea Bird Guano I will add the extra fertilizers when I'm filling up the holes to ensure that it is spread evenly thru the mix. The purpose of vermiculite in a potting mix is to hold water. Vermiculite has crevices which hold and release nutrients and water. Vermiculite and Perlite are both volcanic rock and can be used in an organic garden. The Soil Mix: Potting Soil Worm Castings Vermiculite Potting Soil, Worm Castings & Vermiculite together Potting Soil, Worm Castings & Vermiculite mixed Make sure you get out all the lumps and make it nice and loose The Extra Fertilizers: Bone Meal (Ground up Cow Horns) Blaukorn (Bluekorn) Guano Kalong Sea Bird Guano Soil Mix & Extra Fertilizers (to be added when filling the holes)

3 likesMNEESE, the african strain you talk about is the ethiopian highland which i have, originally from shashemene, land which Haile Selassie I gave to the rastafarian community not where he himself came from! This strain was regarded the first smoked by rastafarians from ethiopia. I have seen many phenos over the years, the plants are considered the best smoke in kenya after the first grade malawi gold and is also being grown indoors in kenya. Some plants show bright orange hairs and thus dealers are now using the name orange kush to sell the product. This sativa produces some massive buds when grown in proper outdoor conditions and produce some mind blowing head highs

2 likesim a fan of the paper towel or cotton trick to germenate. but after that i go strait to a 1 gal root maker air pot. no cube (those r for clones) or tiny pots. cuz your taproot wants to go as deep as possable as quik as possable. puting them in a small cube or pot slows the root growth. the importance of root growth in the stability of a plant. written by a phd proffesor( the inventor of air pots as we know them) http://www.rootmaker.com/docs/staking.pdf

1 likeAbout a year ago we moved from Amsterdam to a gorgeous little mountain village somewhere in the Austrian Alps. I'd always dreamt of living in the mountains and last year we finally decided to just go for it and take the big step of emigrating! Unfortunately we moved here to late in the year so I wasn't able do to some planting last season, but I decided there and then that 2012 would be the year of my first Guerrilla Mountain Grow. In this Blog I will try to keep you updated about all that goes on with the grow, I will explain what products and seeds I used, how I plan to repel all kinds of unwanted animals and critters, how I created my soil mix, etc. etc. I have almost 20 years of growing experience. Indoor as well as outdoor. I will try to do my best to share my knowledge with you, but feel free to leave a comment if you know it better or do it some other way. (we are never too old to learn!) Of course you can also leave comments on a more positive note, heheh I had already started the topic: http://www.strainhun...e-european-alps, but thought that a Blog would be so much clearer. I hope you'll appreciate my effort! Greetz, DutchGrower420

1 likeNo Grow project is complete without a trip to a Garden Center (or Grow Shop). This week I bought most of the stuff I need, the rest came via the Internet. I have everything I need now to put together my soil mix for the plants. In the next post I will exactly tell and show you what my mix contains and show you how it's put together. (Am really NOT looking forward to carrying all this stuff up mountainsides, but you got to do some work to reek the benefits I guess!)

1 likeI still had a bunch of seeds from great strains left from my previous Dutch Attic Grow-op. Most of them I know and have already grown before. But the 'Sharksbreath' and the 'Purple Wreck' are new to me. All come from DNA Genetics (am almost ashamed to admit that here), but due to some good connections, I kinda have easy (read free) access to DNA Seeds, so that makes the choice a whole lot easier of course. Personally I can smoke Silver Bubble all day, but the L.A. and the OG18 are big hitters and gorgeous plants. Especially the OG18 is an amazing plant with white hard big buds and a great sour smell and taste. (Not to trump my own horn, but B-Real from Cypress Hill was a huge fan of my OG18! Below I've added a picture of my final indoor OG18 Grow.) The 5 strains I went with are: LA Woman OG18 Purple Wreck Sharksbreath Silver Bubble Early April I started germinating all the seeds. Since I don't have any growing equipment here I had to make my own propagators from 1 white and 1 clear drink cup that I taped on top of each other with a drainage hole in the bottom and some air holes in the top cup. For light I just used the sunlight in the windowsill. That worked better than expected actually and they sprouted like good seeds should. From 25 germinated seeds I eventually kept the 18 strongest looking plants. (4 died and 3 just don't want to grow) The plants are being fed, 'GHE One Part - Total Grow', every 3 days now before they go outside in the soil mix that I will make. The 18 Germinated Plants in the Austrian Sun Color Coded Ladies Branches and Nodes GHE One Part - Total Grow My final indoor OG18 Grow

0 likesGuys want to know your opinion of this little gem, I would love to add it to my setup. Too bad that produce only in america, and that costs the beauty of 500> $ 700 price varies depending on the place where you buy. In my opinion I think its kind is a good product, and is an indispensable accessory for those growing away from home and an optinal for those grown close to home. For the rest I think we have a total automated control is a big advantage for cultivation. Sentinel CHHC-4 Total Environmental Controller The CHHC-4 controls all of your growing area conditions accurately and reliably. First of all, it has all of the C02 control features of the CHHC-1 and CPPM-1. It also has the ability to control 3 other devices, a heating device and a humidity device. Records the min and max temperature, humidity and C02 levels. Unlike some C02 controllers, the CHHC-4 is able to be calibrated by the user with the self calibration feature. *NEW* Green LED lights make this unit very plant friendly *NEW* Removable combination remote temp, humidity, light level & CO2 probe allows the CHHC-4 to be placed up to 16 feet away. *NEW* Protective caps to help prevent water from getting into the controller Monitors and controls CO2 with PPM accuracy Also controls 3 other devices, a heating device. a cooling device and a humidity device. Separate day/night temp and humidity settings. Records the min and maxi temp, humidity and CO2 levels. Has 2 separate outputs to control cooling and heating. Can increase or decrease the amount of humidity in the growing area. Remote temp, humidity, CO2 and light level sensor

About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
