4 likesjust last week the police shut down 5 large grow houses in Ireland and made 100 arrests, that brings it to more than 400 cannabis factories been uncovered so far this year. The police say Ireland has now become an exporter rather than an importer of cannabis. The problem is all these factories are been run by Chinese Triad and Irish gangs, this is giving cannabis a bad reputation here. When will the government realise that legalistion will be the only way to solve this problem, and the money made can go into the real Irish economy, which is in total recession at the moment, rather than into the pockets of criminal gangs. 3 likesalright so today i got hooked up with a new club which is pretty amazing and they had some really great new varieties for me to try. i don't know how stricked this club is about the names of there cannabis so i will post the names they labeled the strain's but i am unsure wether it is really the same strain as the name. but all the buds are really quality so in the end to me it doesent really matter. the first strain i can say with aleast alittle certainty that it is what it is called which is platinum kush. i know this because one of the bud tenders grew it i have yet to try it but it is probably the best looking strain i purchased today. platinum kush the sethe scond strain is there house special a strain they call fat albert, now i can say one thing the strain fat albert is actually a strain a underground strian t hat is popular in certain areas of the states which is a cross of albert walker X tom hill deep chunk , albert walker being a indica hyrbid strain that is very lemony and the fat albert defintly has a nice lemony sent to it and also a sort of like purple strain like sweet purple kinda odor and taste as well which is sort of like deep chunk so i am wwouldent be supprised if this was actually fat albert the medicinal strain from the usa. fat albert and the last strain is one i am sort of unsure about it is alaskan ice , now i will say this this bud definatly has a widow in the background and sor of maybe a haze as well but i have not smoked alaskain ice before this so i coudletn tell you for sure ether way this is some pretty decent bud as well. alaskain ice all and all i am really happy with all of these strains

3 likesGus please accept my sincere apologies,I am the one to blame here I replied to a comment Celtic made To quote Celtic - "wellcome Guscde, nice concidence. LST is good for autos, but do not try topping or FIM autos do not tolerate harsh stressing" He did not actually ask a question, but I replied to his reply. I agree going of topic can be quite distracting , especially in a grow journal. Next time I will start a new topic and post a link to it. Thank you for your kind words about your learning from me I learn something new everyday too from fellow members of this forum, if it were not for your questions i would have remained a lot more in the dark about amber.Thank you for helping me learn too. Take it steady bro and have a great grow. PS. I can edit this post once you have read it ,so as not to clutter up your journal. Peace Lams

3 likesthanks i didn't enter the bud of the month contest i did however enter the plant of the month contest i could use a vote but to be honest there was a few really nice plants so i am not supprised i didnt get any, but yeah thanks alot big brown tokeage and dust your comments are always appreshiated its is always nice to have a range of good growers check out your work all great growers big brown super talented for a guy just starting out your green o matic grow was incredible and i hope to go head to head with you in the auto contest if your down for some friendly competition, and dust and tokeage both vets watching your grows and growers like you has helped me tramendously along the way. to answer your question dust the exodus cheese is very nice i had some cheese handy last night from my dispensary to compare it to and both were very similar so i am quite happy with the results and even tho the crop is only alittle over 2 weeks from being cut down the joint burned from start to finnish on one light and was smooth with a nice white ash. honestly i would have to say the exodus is even more potent then the cheese strain i am accustom to it is much more of a straight hybrid then the cheese i smoke as well which is way to the sativa side of things. i mean doing get me wrong the exodus does have a sativa side to it but i wasent exspecting it to have a real couch lock effect and was plesently supprised by it. in the flavour department tho it was hard to tell the difference between the cheese from my club and the exodus both where very similar and full flavored. breaking up the bud is still sticky but not as much since i dryed it out thoroughly. honestly this strain was so sticky and oily it made me nervious after 5 days of drying the bud where still so sticky that you couldent break them up with sissors but not having a hydrometer or anytihng to metre moisture i was nervious about sealing the jars while it was like that, so to make up for it i dryed it out more but careful not to over dry it but it is more dry then i would have liked and it made me deside that i should invest in a hydrometer and i found one that 20 $ and small enough that i could through it into the jar with the buds so on my next crop i can keep everything at perfect levels throughout the drying and the curing. all and all tho i am really satisfyed with this strain it yeilds a really nice amount, the buds have a high resin content and its a really nice plant to grow. its definatly on my list of strains to work with in the future.

3 likeshi friends, its gettin interesting. Today i got my frames out the basement and the plants under.... All the plants are topped now so that i just have to deal with sidebranches now for the training. I think it looks quite nice, but judge self... I levelled the pots up, so i can flush them right on place, no moving possible from now.... SLH nevilles right side.....in a few days we will see the sidearms of the nevilles, now that they are topped. peace

2 likesOk, gonna give everyone a break from a TON of details (ya right eh?) and let the pictures do MOST of the talking lol. Partly because I think the cat stepped on my laptop with the grow journal open and erased a few weeks of notes somehow..and since my journal is almost always open I guess it hadnt autosaved..ahhh oh well So ladies are 7 weeks old now, I've fallen in love with the big Northern Lights..it's just a picture perfect tree. It is the only one wanting a lot more food right now. It was at the back of the tent so I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it alone, but I got a nice bud and trichome shot. The Super criticals and the NL leaf structure are very similar, they are beside each other in the back, NL in the middle. When she is watered next I will get individual pics again. The tallest non lst'd sweet mango has some real nice colas coming along, I've included a few pics of them. And the other two sweet mangos that were laggin have picked up the pace with the start of the powderfeed. Gotta say, sooo much easier, although I'm still adding a few additives on some waterings, and they plants seem to LOVE IT! The crazy thing is the plants are responding well and nice and green with no more than 0.6 g/L powderfeed. I know they are autos, but this seems to been the trend with using the Grodan rockwool cubes 50/50 with the Pro-mix..even with my first grow the plants were super healthy and borderline overfed with much less than the recommended dosage because the nutes are so readily available according to Grodan. QUESTIONS: I noticed that the Powderfeed instructions say pH 5.5 - 6.0 for growth and 6.0 - 6.5 for flowering. Looking at my DNF products they say pH 5.8 - 6.0 for grow and Bloom 5.4 - 5.8. Completely opposite. As well, in hydro, isn't 6.0 - 6.5 too high for flowering or for growth? AND in the pictures you will see the one sweet mango has some severely cupped shriveled leaves, while most other leaves seem totally fine. I think they may have gotten a bit close to the light and suffered heat stress or maybe the fan is too close and causing them to cup and try and retain mositure..also noticed they are smooth and very shiny..almost like plastic? I'm thinking of removing the buds with these curled leaves as I can't see them photosynthesizing very well. Any thoughts? And here are the pictures! Sorry they aren't the best quality this time, unfortunately I was in a rush...the dried and cured bud is the LAST of the Moby Dick I grew my first grow ..say it aint so! I'm gonna miss her, what a perfect morning and daytime smoke, strong, long lasting, definitely a bit on the psychedelic side and no burn out whatsoever for me anyways, and I barely built a tolerance to it..all in all a beautiful strain all around and it will be a definite grow again strain in the future! Peace all!

2 likesSo its time for me to get starting my journal now that i gather a little time to do so ,first off all i want to tell you that my seeds are a skunk cross with swiss fragolina and amnesia in her genetic .This is my germination box it has 25 x25x30 cm height (1), a 60w aquarium resistance(2) , plastic cups(3) with black circle plastic floaters to establish floating (4) and filled with unmineralized water with an e.c of 00 and a ph of 5.5.We will find it very useful cause we can easy maintain the temperature of the water with the resistance control switch whatever between 18 and 32 Celsius .With this method and with several boxes like this we will be able to test what temp is the best for our seed to germ at different temperatures .So we soaked the seeds on the water between 20 and 25 Celsius and leave them in a dark room for around 12/24 h,we will see what happens when we have the next step, remove the seeds from the water and put them between wet papers and remember that soaking seeds after the root is expose can bring early damage to it ,now its time to leave them do there work and enjoy some weed keep it green

2 likesHere's a little update for everyone . So the WSS seeds swelled up and the next day I put them in some kitchen roll and wrapped them in cling film. I checked them 24 hours later and the tap root was showing on all of them so I gently put the seeds in to some rockwool cubes and waited for the magic to happen and the next day to my surprise one had already popped up out of the rockwool took another 24 hours for another one to pop up the rest I'm still waiting on to show a appearance witch I'm sure will be tomorrow. Anyway here's a few pics.

1 liketokeage, i can't find the exsact same one online because i forget the brand name but it looks sort of like this one, it is about the thickness of a cigar and about as long as a king size cigarette. http://www.amazon.co...ef=pd_sbs_lg_18 they are used in like cigar box humidors and what not to measure the humidity, but you can use that i gage the exsact perfect humidity where your not at a risk for mold but still moist enough to properly get the full effect of an air tight cure

1 likeOk...i never believed that the weedpass is possible in Netherland, that's why i never was scared about that. And now i'm shure that the weedpass is dead, before he is born! That's great...but this frustrating fight against the "war on drugs" is going on 'n on! Soma say's ".....i'm a breeder.... a parttime musican...a opa but i'm definitly no criminal!" But that is nothing what we have to decide! So sadly it is! Where i live it is completly illegal to smoke 'n grow, that's why i'm criminal. And that's a fact, i couldn't live with. Legalize it...now...everywhere!!!

1 likeGood luck to you all, I wish I could be there with you in person but alas this year is a no, I will be there with you in spirit guys so smoke some for me and do let me know what I virtually smoked, lol Best wishes, Toaor
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
