10 likesHello Strainhunters ! Last night i watered all of my Moneymakers that i got for the cup. So time to start this journal. The grow will start in a 80x80x160 silver box/tent, flowering will be in a completely new flower area that gets builded in this days... 2x400W Silvania Grow Lux will power that room Growing medium is soil, a mix of 2 different with an extra amount of perlite that i add. First week or two i stick to grodan rockwool cubes, but you will see that in the following pictures and explenations the next weeks. This is the veg tent wich the MM will enter after germination... here is my soil for the mix, the coco is for a different grow... Feeding will be powder feed only, i got a EC meter for this. And a tapwater EC of 0,3. This is how the seeds looked like when i put them to the wet paper on a bed of perlite this morning... Now they are very safe located in my snake propagator !!! I took a little look before and it looked very good, but more when i have the pics to proove!! Thats it, for the first post of my MM, i hope u like... I'm gonna do much pics, let you see all what i do, but if i left anything out or forget, feel free to ask, comment...whatever u like. peace

5 likesHello Guys, I am moudak from Egypt, I have been smoking since 13 years ago...But I only started growing 3 months ago. I got these seeds from 6 different Sinai strains bought from different dealers, most of them don't know each other, except for 2. In Egypt all the farmers are uneducated Bedouins they don't separate males from females so we end up buying weed with seeds. So I planted some of them and these are the pics of them. I hope I am doing something good. I included pics of my nutes that are available in the Egyptian market. For lights I use CFL's 1 x 55, 1 x 85, 1 x 105 I started germinating on the 24'th of September and now I am in week 7 now. I only received the PH, TDS, Hygrometer 5 days ago. I found out a lot of missing info, so I calibrated everything accordingly. From climate including the RH% rate to the Celcius degree and checking the PH of the water, So I changed everything to be as follows: * RH% 55% almost it varies from 52 - 55%. * 23 Celcius mainly from 21 - 23 * 550 ppm in the water with the nutes * 6.8 mainly from 6.5 - 6.8 so you will find a better change in the yellowing color in the bottom leaves the earlier generated ones from the first levels. I always spray them 2 a day with water and silicate to preserve them from the weather change. I open the fan while in light ( 16 ) hours. I open a 0.5 cm from the window in the background for ventilation and I spray the mylars frequently to reserve some humidity in the air trying to push to 55%. Please note that its very very and I repeat very difficult to get stuff like for example Humidifier, dehumidifier, worm castings, blood meal, bat guano, bat manure, clay pellets, rock wool, net pots, EVEN the word HYDROPONICS is like alien to 99.99999999% to any Egyptian. I went to the agricultural college to ask about anything to relate to it I didnt find except they are only exposed to this word except for a paragraph in one of their courses. I just want to tell it's very hard to deal with high tech even with old school stuff. So I am doing my best just to explore and understand and will do my best to be introduced to Hydroponics soon I am gathering a list and I will order them online. I already received my flowering light online 180 x 3w 60 degree full spectrum and 5 x 5w total 570W LED I hope it does the job will keep u posted. will repot them in compost, peat moss, perlite mixture 1:1:1 in 5 gallon CLAY pots I hope this will do something about the respiration of the soil. I am planning to go to the workshop of the clay pots and ask them to make some small pellets and try them, you can imagine the hassle of finding everything and try to find the origin of the thing to change there minds about doing it ur way. So much writing with J in your mouth and closing one of my eyes avoiding the smoke entering my eye . Please tell me what do u think about it...waiting for your replies Peace out. moudak

5 likesthx guys, all going good so far... All ten with their heads up standing tall Because i had to water the cubes i decided to explain a little more detailed how i go, its gettin interesting now in my eyes. My tapwater is at EC 0,3 PH 7,5 First 3-4 days i add small amounts of Rhizotonic, like half of the dosage recomended. But this raises PH to over 8, ive seen almost 9. PH - is my new friend for this case. 3 drips on 1,5l pinned it between 6 and 7. EC goes slightly over 0,4 One more thing, i like to keep them short on the water, as short as possible. Much water has only done harm in most cases... I inject 2 shots of 25ml to the cubes when i find them dry... When i put them to the soil i start with the powder feeding, all details on that to follow. peace

3 likesHello Guys, Since we have a couple of Egyptians I would like to add my self as well. I am growing my Sativa's that I bought from different plants in Sinai. I would like to expand your view towards Sinai and also I would like to inform you that Sinai is the land where it was never contaminated with different characteristics from a different strain or a landrace. It's a Sativa and it's a pure and dominant strain full of a great characteristics that by breeding with different strains I am sure will be mind blasting but of course there is no such opportunity for doing such a thing in here except I am only growing not looking for breeding now. I got a couple of seeds I bought from Green House, while I was back in Amsterdam early this ear. I would like to share with you this movie Enjoy guys

Good start this update, direct data of these three days, by the way last growth cycle under 200W CFL lamp to start with the low vegetative 600W sodium lamp (though I do not have the metal halide lamp 400W) and I will give only growth until it can take a couple of cuttings of each plant, then go to flowering, these days as he had said in the previous update have not done any dry irrigation hoping the substrate for transplanting your new container. In these days I have concluded the test of growth in the absence of a final sample because they misjudge the day of transplantation, the test would be 14 days due to what I have concluded transplant at 12, well I leave the graph to observe. As can be seen more homogeno growth was firstly WL Albina followed by W.L. Com # 1, the other has been more pronounced, however I'm quite happy, the WL Com # 2 has improved its mutation jijijiji begin to sprout leaves and more uniform, and WL Tiger although its growth was not as homogeneous in diving, day 22 to 24, from that day the growth was more or less similar. Now some pictures I pass on what I've also been busy these days, preparing the substrate and the new plant containers. Substrate for the creation of what I have done in the following way: 50% of All-Mix container land, 30% coir, 10% perlite and 10% last Humus. The container that I use is 7 liters and make deliveries as the substrate in 7 liters, for use as a pitcher and a block of wood 2 cm. of expesor that high benchmark to use as I will take what I use as the drainage arlita I put about 2 cm. good with the taco place in the bottom of the container proceed to fill it with soil just to know how many jars filling leads me in my case are 6 jars, 3 jars for easy ground, one and three quarters of coconut and a pitcher and quarter of perlite and humus alike, that's my formula (ADMIT TIPS). 3 likes@Franco Thanks Man for the information @Jose ese cruce tiene el sabor citrico y fresco, muy fresco.

2 likesFirstly let me say your plants are looking great.I do like a bit of Super Crit , NL is an old time favorite and Sweet Mango is one I'm gonna have to try nothing but good things said about her. Mildews, molds & bud rot, never a happy day discovering these, this video and the UCV light it shows, may be of interest, let me know what you think. VIDEO HERE - !In the late stages of flowering you dont want to be spraying anything directly on the buds. Good air flow and reducing humidity with a dehumidifyer or higher extraction rate if your fan is not already turned up to max. UVC light will kill 99% of bacteria fungus & fungal spores. There are many UVC devices around most of them arent aimed at weed grower but will still do the same job and kill those nasties. Light in the video is "Clean Light" and can be found here - http://www.cleanligh.../tags/uvc-lamp/ You can also google UVC Wand or UVC Sanitary Wand. IMPORTANT WARNING. YOU MUST NOT EXPOSE SKIN OR EYES TO THE UVC LIGHT. TAKE PRECAUTIONS MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO. NEVER PLAY AROUND OR LOOK AT THE LIGHT FROM THE BULB. iF USED CORRECTLY YOU WILL BE SAFE. Hope this is helpful, if not now , maybe in the future. Peace bro Lams

1 likeThanks for that great info Lams. And almost forgot, all great advice, but to let ya know I've had a dehumidifier running 24 hrs since flowering and humidity has generally been about 35 - 45%, my extractor fan is running full, and I've had both oscillating fans running 24 hrs instead of just the one for about a week now. So got that covered I took a look at the video for the UV light and it looks pretty promising! I'd heard that the technology would be soon available to hobbyists, really cool that it is now They do have a distribution warehouse in Canada, unfortunately it is $329 at the moment. When you consider that an oz. of medical grade weed can run almost that much $$, and the fact that it could save multiple oz's from your own crop, and the fact that if your crop fails due to fungus you will be buying weed at that price, it totally makes sense to me, it just isn't in the budget before Christmas. I'm sure the price will drop with a little time. I am definitely planning on getting one in the near future though, maybe for my Cup crop. LUCKILY, and cross my fingers, the Super C's seem to be doing really well since I cut off the offending leaflets and flushed them. No new spots and they look like they really appreciated the flush with the DNF Clear I gave them. Hairs are really turning orange quickly and drawing back into calyxes that are swelling up, and they are nice and sparkly, more trichomes than the Moby's I grew last, and they were pretty resinous. flushed the 3rd Super C today, and the one Sweet Mango (A) is definitely ready for flushing tomorrow. Smells are very intense in the tent right now & a complex mixture with the 3 strains and plants close to finishing are very powerful.Should be a 4 plant harvest in about a week!! Did some experimenting with the camera and close-ups & macros..stay tuned for a flood of bud porn soon peace

1 likeHello everyone! I recently planted about 15 autos, snow ryders, skunks and ruderalis indica. Previous harvest was a complete success, but this time I noticed strange light-green-yellowish stains occuring on the leaves of some of them. I was wondering if anyone can give me a hint on this one, I'm totally clueless. Thanks!

1 likeThe times are changing so fast and also the equipment. I decided to build new grow room March-April 2013. Till then i've got a long time to find the hardeware wich make it possible to grow the best 'n tastiest herb. I only can use space in my bedroom. I wanna separate a room as a square of 150cm x 150cm with dry walls. Cause it's in my bedroom, silence is a big topic. i wanna grow hydroponic, from seed. So i think i didn't need a mother room, but maybe a separate room for veggi. I wanna use the power of MH/HPS AND LED. And i've ordered one 100w LED Panel @ https://www.elitegrow.co.uk/. When it's works i wanna try a combination of 1x 400W MH/HPS and 2x 100W LED. In my logic i've got then 600W full light spectrum power for fat 'n dense buds. So my question to all my fellow hunters is... Is it possible to build a high end grow room with round about 2000€? Which hardware you would prefer for a projekt like this? Which dimensions the separates would have in your thoughts? Ect.p.p. .. Please post every usefull links, share your thoughts about that projekt and help me to be a "further-top-herb-grower" and hopefully this dream will come true in a several month. cheers 'n have a good one... gus

1 likehere is what I posted in another thread about super cropping. It is worth doing but make sure you learn first. Do it during veg and top the plant as well. I also super crop. I try to do it as well as topping. So I will top the plant at around 4 or 5 internodes, let the two shoots grow around 4 or 5 internodes and super crop them, then top again and super crop again. I do this as much as I can until they are half the size I want them to finish at. Once they reach that hight, usually 18 inches hight for my space i switch to 12/12 Now with all that topping and super cropping I end up with about 12 main colas per plant which all have huge stems that can move alot of nutrients/water up and down as well as hold a ton of buds with lots of weight! I find this method is great if you have the paitence for the veg cycle. With the Kush plants I have now I went about 45 days veg and topped and super cropped over and over again until they were the hight I needed them at. Another great thing about super cropping and topping plants is when you have SmartPots or Air Pots it gives the roots time and space to grow like crazy! My 5 gallon smartpots are full of roots within 45 days, so much that most of the promix is gone! Just a massize root mass! LOL! Its a skill that you have to perfect over time, you willl always break plants or snap them right off and have to fix it. Yes duct tape works great! and it does grow over / together and actually makes a nice nuckle which allows more flow to the buds and leaves Take care. oh by the way...youtube has a ton of videos on super cropping if anyone is looking to do it.
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
