86 likes25th Cannabis Cup more info; http://cannabiscup2012.com/ DATES FOR CANNABIS CUP 2012: 11/18-11/22 If you don’t know what the Cannabis Cup is, then you have probably been living in a cave somewhere. This has become the worlds premier Cannabis festival. Started in 1987, the Cannabis Cup is now in its 25th year. It always takes place in Amsterdam where the marijuana laws are most lax and allow for the larger scale event that the Cannabis Cup has come to be. The festival has traditionally centered all activity around the judging of different strains of marijuana, usually coming from many of the coffee shops around Amsterdam. But beginning with the 6th Cannabis Cup, the founder Steven Hager began fusing counterculture spirituality into the event. The High Times Cannabis Cup now typically includes live music, comedy and an expo for marijuana-related products from cannabis-oriented businesses. This event has become very popular over the last several years and many tourists go to Amsterdam specifically to attend this festival. We are here to offer you any pertinent information regarding the 2011 Cannabis Cup. Please browse the information below as well as our blog and other pages to get more information about the Cannabis Cup 2012. Also, be sure to check out our Amsterdam Coffee Shop Map. Cheers family!!!

76 likesHey Guys & Girls, time for a new journal now that Spring in soon upon us. I thought I'd start off 5 x Big Bang Autos under 125cfl blue vegging light on 20/4 to give them a really good start before I put out in greenhouse to finish the flowering process. I should be able to grow them for about 4/5 weeks under the light in the loft tent before they get too big and have to go outside. I also have to get the greenhouse built, it is currently in bits up the side of my house! A month should give me time, I have to get down old plastic one and then make hard surface to put greenhouse on. Put seeds into overnight soak yesterday and will leave till tomorrow then they will go in Root Riot germination cubes and straight into soil, probably 20cms pots to start. That's it for now, day one should be Saturday. Toaor

35 likesHigh together, I want to welcome you to my Autoflowering Grow Journal. After my White Widow (GHSC) harvest and drying procedure I put 3 Kalashnikova Auto seeds to germinate. Today the 3 seeds where put in soil, after germinating them with the Greenhouse method. (soak for 24h, then put on wet toiletpaper for 24h) The top of the pots where covered with plastic foil to create a humid enviroment. (initial root lengths when planted: about 4mm) The first medium I am using for my seeds is a premixed soil mix with perlite and low nutrition made by "ASB GREENWORLD". [N:150-500 mg/L,P2O5: 40-300 mg/L, K2O: 50-400 mg/L] My Kalashnikovas will recieve Greenhouse Powder Feeding when first growing stage is over (i guess in about 3 weeks) Everybody starts their Journals with some nice pics, right now I havent got any but will ad them soon when the babys sprout. All of us just have to be a bit patient untill we can see our babys.

28 likesFor Spanish Click Here DAY 1 Here we go again! We board a flight from Amsterdam and in 9 hours we are in the Caribbean. After a layover of just a couple of hours on Curacao, we fly on to Jamaica. We land in Kingston around 11 am local time. The air is hot, but not too humid. We have a 3 hours layover, so we decide to get out of the airport and go have lunch in Port Royal, half an hour away on the coast. It's a bit of a ghost-town, once a very rich merchant harbor, destroyed at the end of the seventeenth century by a powerful earthquake. It looks like it never really recovered… We eat lunch in a small fish-restaurant, famous for its snapper. But I eat jerk chicken because I am picky with my fish, and the jerk-spices here are amazing! Of course we drink some Red Stripe beers, and Simon and myself decide it's time to find some weed. It does not take long before we hit the jackpot: literally on the side of the local Police station, along the seaside, there are some barracks and shacks; inside a group of Rastas is busy cleaning and chopping weed and rolling it up in small balls, using rolling papers as containers. We ask if we can buy some, and the guys are thrilled. It's cheap, less than 1 Euro per gram. But it's a bit bitter, very leafy, and we enjoy it just because it's been a while since we smoked in Amsterdam! Some of the Rastas in the back are smoking crack cocaine in a glass pipe, the smell is terribly sour. They ask if we like some, and we politely tell them we are just here for the ganja; they nod, and scream "Jah Rastafari"! We sit and smoke a joint with them, and chat a bit about the local weed, and the cops. It's incredible that this is all happening next to the Police station. We leave as soon as the joint is over, and we go back to the restaurant to join the rest of the crew. It's time to get back to the airport and catch a Jamaican Airlines flight to Montego Bay, where our local contacts are waiting. The flight is really short, under half hour, and we arrive in MoBay before sunset. Bigga, Shanti, Nampo and Taleban are waiting for us and it's great to see them again; Arjan and myself spent some crazy days with these guys not long ago, during our scouting trips on the island. These guys are a tight crew, and they are going to take care of us during the next days of this filming trip. Nampo is a older Rasta, wise man, with lots of contacts and very respected. Taleban, his friend, is a grower and a smuggler, a real pirate and one of the funniest guys we ever had with us during our expeditions. Bigga is our driver/bodyguard, he's a man of the road and he knows who and what you need to know to keep us safe. Shanti is a local singer, a reggae artist with an amazing talent and a great personality. I know him since he was 10 years old, back in 1994, when I spent a few weeks near where he lived with his father (the man supplying me with fine herb at the time). It was really special to find Shanti during our scouting trips back in July, he's now a grown up man… and I am getting old! Shanti will come along and make sure the soundtrack of our travels is inspiring and inspired. We get the cars, two Toyota Fortuner, and we load up the mountain of gear we are carrying. Then we drive down to Negril in the sunset light, and when we arrive it's already dark. We decide to spend the first night at the Blue Cave Castle, a really cozy place on the rocky cliffs of Negril. It's another true 1994-flashback for me, this is one of the places where I stayed when I was a 20-years-old ganja-traveler, already a Strain Hunter without knowing it…. Of course to make the flashback even more intense the same room where I slept then is available, so I take it. It still looks the same. We are tired from the long travel, and we decide to go for some food. Unfortunately the chef is sick, so we decide to find something not too far away. We hit a jerk-chicken stand by the side of the road and we eat like there's no tomorrow. After a few Red Stripes and a few joints we go back to the hotel, where we smoke some good amount of high-grade weed, and some "gum", the local finger-hash. The weed is definitely an indica-cross, it tastes sweet and strong, and they say it's from a site not too far from where we are. We make a plan for tomorrow, and we go to sleep. Jamaica is great. It's a true privilege to be here again. Jah Bless! And now we are back with MisterX pics, the man is a true artist..... enjoy! 26 likesDay One Kalashnikova Automatic (Feminised) = Greenomatic (Ruderalis x Moroccan x White Dwarf x Low Rider) X Kalashnikova (AK-47 x White Widow) - Sounds promising. Indoor - 7 weeks flowering time with a yield up to 800gr/sqm. Can be flowered at 18 or 12 hours photoperiod. 9 weeks total crop time. Hi Strainhunters, I have got some room coming up this week under the light, so i am not going to waste it. I have gratefully received some Kalashnikova Autoflower seeds Which will be fed with Short flowering Powderfeed from start to finish. This will be my third attempt at growing autoflowers, the first time with Greenhouse Auto genetics, previously i have grown Think Differnt from Dutch Passion and Northen lights Auto from Royal Queen seeds. So will be happy to see how they compare. I will be using one of my trusty HPS 400w lights on a 12/12 light schedule.i have previously been growing them on 18/6 for two weeks then 12/12 on my previous two attempts. I am changing this time as i want to keep my electricity bills down, and if i have the light on 12/12 constantly, So I can grow a wider range of varieties, auto and feminised, all on a 12/12 schedule from start to finish. This will be my last indoor grow till August/September as I hope to start outdoors on the 1st May if spring ever arrives this year. Free light always a bonus and with a decent summer can get some good results outdoor. I will start my plants in small 2 litre pots then transplant them after a week to 10 days into 11 litre pots where they will stay for 9-10 weeks.I will fill the pots with my usual soil easymix from the local grow shop, then add clay pebbles when I come to repot them. I will start by filling the pots with soil, I will then drop the seed in a 1cm deep hole I have made, cover gently, I then give the soil a light watering with warm tap water over the seed, cover with a sprinkly of soil, mist that with tap water, I will then put them in a dark cupboard and wait patiently. i have only failed once using this method and that was my first attempt ever. So away we grow. Thanks Greenhouse

Muchas gracias Green House Seeds!!!! Biodinamia -> Día 1 y 2: 09/02 y 10/02 RAIZ+D+M+Capricornio Biodinamia -> Día 4: 12/02 HOJA+D+C+Piscis

12 likesI have seen many different responses to questions on ph of coco some say u treat it like hydroponic and some say to treat it like soil. From what i know its closer to hydro. but what if there is amendments? after all alot of potting soil is just coco with some amendments, some are peat based and some a both none of them are actually soil. or things like bat guano, teas, greensand, gypsum/lime, epsom salts, humus, kelp, sea based products, fish emulsion, or just organic liquid nutrients, Are these things going to affect the ideal ph?. Does the medium have to be completely inert to be treated as hydroponic or are there some exceptions but not all? if the medium has to be inert then would things like teas change that. OR can only specifically hydroponic nutes be used to be treated as hydroponic? I under stand that there is not one ideal PH IN veg you want a lower ph then in flowering and with longer flowering plants the PH will be even higher before harvest I understand PH for hydroponic and soil but i think alot of the people giving PH info don't really under stand that pottng soils are actually a soilless mix and some completely coco based. possibly things like compost could define a soil because there is general alot of bugs and organisms in compost as well as humus. IF anyone Has any input id greatly appreciate it, basically what i really neeed to understand is what draws the line between soil and hydro is it just the introduction organic amendments?

4 likesWelcome fellow gardeners This is my go on the famous Autoflowering World Cup. I have recently upgraded my growroom to a sercret jardin growtent (90x90x160cm). In it i try to keep a perpetual SOG but my pots sizes vary from 3-14L. Also iam from Scandinavia so my measuring is metric (L,ml,Kg,etc). I do not grow with any special kinda soil, i get it at the grocery store for little money - if any . Well on to the plan for theese Auto Kalshnikova babies They will be started in jiffy pots in a platic dish with a dome over - it doesn't seal. They will veg under some CFLs for 1week running at 18/6 with about 30W in all. Not professional veg-room, i know, and i will probably not be providing pictures for the first week of growth(nothing exicting in that week neither;). The seeds are in fact already in the jiffy pots. After 1. week they will move to 12/12 room wth 250W. They will be transplanted into 5,5L an 7L pots- to compare optimum size pots for autos. The soil is as said standard soil and then i will use the king of kings of fertilizers, the holy grail of growing, the mothership of feedings.... GREENHOUSE POWDER FEEDING. Iam really exited about seeing how this will go, i already gave my other plants a feeding with the powder feeding. The plants looks really good and the fertilizer ratio within looks perfect for cannabis. Only shitty thing is that it stings in the nose Thats about it, i will be back soon with pictures of the seedlings as they get alittle older. They have already been in plain water for 24hrs. Then in papertowel for alittle over 24hrs and then transplanted to jiffies.

3 likesHello guys. I have a closed balcony, but fresh air comes in from holes in the windows. I would like to keep my humidity around 45% but right now its about 60-70%, so i was wondering about buying a humidity controller. Also when i'm harvesting im planning on moving the humidity controller to my drying room (my bedroom). My question is, will this humidity controller even have a chance for keeping the humidity around 45% when fresh air comes in all the time? theres not comming a whole windows fresh air in, but maybe about an half or a quart. If it cant control the humidity when air is comming in, theres no point for buying this device, but what do you guys think? i've been googleing and so on, but not really able to find the same problem anywhere. Thanks in advice

3 likes14/04/2013 its day 20 of flowering ive fed them with an EC 1.5 PH 6 1 litrer each as the coco has dried out. ive had a little problem with humidity being abut 70% with all the bad weather we've had in the last month im going to be putting in a dehumidifier in the next few days hoping i can bring the humidity down as i think its delaying flowering. not many flowers forming at the min might be do to lower temps . i trimed off lower branches to help with air flow then i put a fan blowing around the bottom of the plants. night time temp it falling to low about 15 degrees C with day time temp being 25c at canapy level , the soil temp aroung the the roots that i put in is reading 17C -18C, with tem around the pots is 19C-20C i think its a little to low 'so in the next few days i will be tryng to up the temps by 3degrees by putting my heater on but this nrmally only ups it by 1 degree as the only way to keep the heat in the tent is to turn the extractor fan down but this ends up with more humidity in the tent so the fan needs to be on full power, also i have to have the window open to allow air exchange so its all it doesnt help the the outside temp is cold so getting a ballance of all 3 is critical will post next week about what i did to try and overcome this predicument untill them here are some pics from today peace.

2 likesJust an update on day 40. one takes 1000ml water with a ppm solution of 720ppm / 1.0 EC hybrid powderfeeding, spills 300ml of water, other one takes 500ml same solution, without any spill. Soil ph is about 5.8. Also the one in black pot has gotten a new home in a new pot (ill upload pictures next week), since there wasn't holes for spill water. Stems are getting hard n' strong as f*ck, since i turned on the fan Also wanted to show my freaky mutant Damnesia (3 cotyledon leaves/polyploid/whorled phytolaxy) - its the little one.

2 likesNow week 6 Pictures are fresh from this date (day of post) They are now approx 10 cm taller 65 and 75cm. I tried to take some pictures of far big the buds have become with a ruler. It's not clear but the smaller plant's buds are ½bigger than the taller. I water between every feeding, iam not an experienced grower so i dont measure EC and PH, but it seems as if they could take alot more feeding. I give them little less than 1g/1L. Also you see some super cropping on the taller plant

2 likesquick update, 20/4/2013 three of the ladies have accepted my invite, the suss vanilla bean never popped, so I put it in a peat plug just in case and soaked another, this one sank straight away and was sprouting 12 hours later so I placed it in the free pot in the dome, today being the 21/4/2013 all are doing great and you can see in the picture that the late vanilla bean is already coming through the soil. In order of pics purple wreck, violator kush, vanilla kush and pineapple chunk. Cheers Tastynugz

About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
