6 likesHigh Everyone I thought i would share my outdoor love with everyone that would like to stop by and have a look. My outdoor garden is divided into 2 section . My prime growing section is a fenced off section of 12m2 , this space was dug out and refilled with my own mix of living soil , 4 tons worth. These are my best outdoor ladies My other outdoor section i like to call the wild side , this is basicly the rest of the garden lol. The dogs can get to these plants and i let nature just do there thing with them. I have 3 big dogs that love to eat the outdoor ladies but dont do much damage , i call it dog stress training. I to this day can not train a swazi landrace as well as my 80kg boerboel lol. On the wild side of my outdoor i am just really running swazi landrace . I call it a landrace as i have been growing it since 1998 , the original beans were found in swaziland in a packet of the sickest rooibaard i have ever seen. Due to recent bad weather and flooding in my area my summer outdoor started later than i would have liked this year. This did put me in a position to test bodhi beans outdoor. I am testing 3 strains: Blue Dream x temple (temple = super silver haze x williams wonder) Tiger Temple (tiger= alpachia x green crack) Temple Lights ( 97 northern lights x Temple) Having a few issues getting pics up as i like to link it from photobucket and give captions on them, i will right but here are some pics of my garden and some of last years outdoor. From now on i will just post updated pics and no old ones in this log I hope u enjoyed the show for now , i will update as i go along

6 likesWhile out walking yesterday I came across a bin liner containing stalks and a root ball from our beloved herb dumped at a local beauty spot. This is by no means the first time I've seen this in my area. Iv'e seen Nutrient bottles, what looked like the best part of a grow room (Mylar sheeting plywood pots and clay pebbles) and on one occasion literally hundreds of bin bags each containing 2 root balls at regular intervals along a lonely road which looked as if they must have been thrown from a moving truck. If you Grow it it is YOUR responsibility to dispose of any waste responsibly, ideally by recycling. If you can' t then you have no business growing it and your herb will be crap anyway 'cos it's contaminated by your bad karma.

4 likesUPDATE!!!!! DAY 2 OF 12/12!!!!! Alright so today is day 2 of 12/12 after 28 day's of veg for the chemdog and bubba and only 14 or so day's for the platinum kush. all the plant's are doing good, fortunately i figured out what was causing the stunted growth of the bubba kush i didn't rinse the coco out properly before planting last week i gave all the plant's a really big flush and allowed them to dry out after and the stem is now getting thicker and the root's growth and health seem to be improving. i tried something i don't normally do to improve the growth of the latteral shoot's on the bubba i cut off a few lower main fan leaf's to increase light penetration to the lower branch's and since them they have really started growing out i just hope the added stress doesent harm the flower's that much. GHSC Chemdog GHSC Bubba kush Platinum kush - sourced locally Alright that's it for this week , until next week keep it safe and stay green!

3 likes@Dust Thanks , I have a large property with very high walls all round . There is no way for anyone to see my grow. Unfortunately in SA its still illegal but if you don'tdeal or cause trouble the police tend to leave you alone. Things are looking bright in our future in SA though as we have got a high court date for march next year and all the different parties fighting for legalization have united under one banner , very exciting times. @levente Thanks a lot bud @Bushy haha all my dogs are stoner dogs , they love there cannabis as much as their parents @zub0 Thanks @nicc1976 Thanks , growing in africa is awesome. I can grow all year round outdoors. Stick around and you will see some amazing colour in the colder months Mini Update Just a few pics from around the garden , growth this week has been amazing and most have just started to flower Stems are getting thick I am officially too short to measure my ladies without a ladder lol Lastly , not cannabis but i am super excited. My first butternut hahaha Cheers Reaf

3 likesUPDATE!!!!!!! DAY 15 12/12!!!!!! alright so there has been good progress in the past week or so the bubba has shown it's preflower's and it even look's like the platinum is as well mind you the chemdog and the bubba had ruffly 30 day's of veg where the platinum only had 14 so i expected a later flowering from the platinum i also expected a huge difference in growth rate's and internodal spacing while i know that the platinum will not every full catch up with the other two i threw it into the mix as a sort of curiosity i have a lot of seed of the platinum that i am saving for breeding as it is a rare strain that is currently not commercially available in it's original form. so when i had the chance i decided to grow one bean out just to see how it look's of course this is regular stock so it was a bit of a risk but it looks like it might actually be female so for that i am lucky and the plant look's great despite the noticeable stretch which was expected the leaf's look very nice and the plant is looking promising. the Genetic's of the platinum kush are not well known i have heard rumor's of it being a master kush cross in the clone only section of seedfinder it label's it as a master kush X afghani but i am not sure that is correct i do know it one of my favorite kush's around being that it is as flavorful as it is stinky and the dryed flower is just incredibly beautiful. as far as everything else the chemdog is already slowing down vertical growth and the top is starting to open up, the bubba is a little behind be getting there it's side branch's have blown up like expected from trimming the lower fan leaf's earlier on and the leaf's have gotten much darker leading me to believe that the flushing i did earlyer fixed the problem the root ball was having do to salt level's in the coco being to high ( tip for grower's if you are unsure about where you sourced your coco from rinse the shit out of it before planting) especially if you have no way of testing the dissolved solid's content of the run off water. GHSC CHEMDOG GH BUBBA KUSH PLATINUM KUSH GROUP SHOT's alright well that's it for now, until next time keep safe and stay green! i just wanted to add some bud pic's in honer of FBK's release seeing as how it's a green crack X og kush cross i have been smoking green crack all week and thought i would share a few bud shot's, i mean isent the quality incredible! even crazier this bud only costed me 8 $ canadian a gram and is on the value menu at my club Green Crack anyway's that's it for now until next time happy huntin!

2 likesThanks lams I gave the article a good read and was interesting , its a pity he didn't get the strain. I know of a few people now growing it but i cant vouch for their genetics I have been smoking since 1993 and back then me and friends use to make regular trips to the transkei and swaziland. This is what i experienced back then , there were 2 different products sold under the name rooibaard. They were extremely similar in appearance but he smell was very different . One was extreamly peppery with dark red hairs while the other was more earthy and fruity with a high resin content. with a very nice cerebral high but had a couch lock aftereffect. In 2000 i grew out 1 of each type of the original seeds from 93 , the male more peppery one while the female was the earthy "pheno" i seeded the female and thats what i have been playing with since. I still get 1 of each pheno often , 100% pure sativa with a 25 week flower.

1 likehey man, thank's for the advice. i over watered in an attempt to rince out the coco better i used really cheap coco tht was rinsed in sea water or something because it was really loaded with sodium the bubba was really effected by it you can see how the growth is so much bigger on the chemdog and the stem thickness that's because the chemdog's coco was rinsed alittle better. both plant's were receiving the same feeding and are the same age. i should have noticed the problem before i planted but i don't have a TDS meter. so yeah i overwatered because after the last feeding with the bubba the day after i noticed alittle burning on the leaf tips's so i did a really big flush and the run off water was just nasty. and i took those picture's as i was doing the flush. but now the bubba is doing much better the growth is catching up the stem is getting thicker. i did however do one thing i think some people around here would consider questionable, because of how stunted the growth of the bubba plant was the lower bud shoot's where really far behind the chemdog's in an effort to correct this problem alittle i cut of a couple of the lower main fan leaf's. since then the latter shoot's have increased drastically i just hope the added stress doesent cause problem's in flowering. anyway's before i do my next update i just want to share a few bud's with you guy's of what i am smoking this week. first is GWS, a really nice batch i was actually lucky enough to get a few seed's of this batch of the strain which i am looking forward to growing out eventually. Great White Shark HeadBand

1 likeyes, that is also true. Some sativas can give you paranoia when you are mentally unbalanced or having troubles. So thank you all, because fianlly I got a feeling about that phenomenon.

1 likeI liked mine and gave it 6 weeks veg and 8 and ahalf weekd in flower. That was a large tree with a lot of Haze traits. From a Mix Pack, so only 1 was grown but apart of the White Widow this was my favorite . Not that different in potency / high, The only downside the after effects were felt longer. A little hang over the next morning; but apart from that perfect mix of body stone and deep long and intense introspective high. Trust your guts, you will see when the hairs turn red and there is nothing much going on anymore you can cut them I think it would qualify as a 9 weeker more than 8, but it all depends if there is more Red Skunk or Haze in the pheno...

1 likeDo you give big doses of your nutes? some of your girls look like they start to be a little overfed no? Beside that pics are still very nice thanks for the updates Have a good grow
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
