I have not done a good job of documenting this years grow as I've had a busy summer. I decided this year to use Ace seeds products and planted Fatty Bubba, China Yannan, Pakistan Chitral Kush and Bangi Haze as well I planted two Afgan Kush x Black Domina but didn't plant them until July 1st. This year, I started them on May 24th and put the germinated seeds directly into 15 gallon smart pots, and then left for a month of traveling around Europe, Turkey and Tunisia and left my son instructions on watering and fertilizing. When I returned I found them doing ok, but two of them were males!!! I pulled the males and planted two Afgan Kush x Black Domina in my garden to make up for the two males. I then gave them their first dose of Ormus, it's a natural product that I wanted to try, not sure if it did anything or not. A couple of weeks later I left for my friends villa in Exuma, Bahamas and stayed there until the middle of August and arrived home to some very big plants that had begun to flower, so they got their second dose of Ormus and continued with the powder feeding. Then a couple of weeks later left on a cruise with my wife, so I didn't really do much in the way of taking care of these plants, but I believe the got their regular fertilizing and watering. So I didn't document the growth of these plants, sorry!! But I will share some pictures of this years crops. I harvested the Fatty Bubba last week and the Pakistan Chitral Kush last week, I have pictures just before harvest, but not with me right now so I can't show the plants, I will next week when I get the photo's. I do have a couple of pictures of the dried buds just before trimming and curing, nice fat budda and nice purple Chitral picture included. The China Yunnan, is an incredible plants, not too tall, less than two meters, but very wide and full of big fat crystal covered buds, the Bangi Haze is another very pleasant surprise, all plants look great, except for the Afgan Kush, they have a few more weeks to go and I'm not sure if the weather will allow them to ripen, but I'll try. Sorry, I didn't document, but I just wasn't here to do it, here the pictures of this years crops.

So much for the plants, I'll add the pictures of the Fatty Bubba and the Pakistan Chitral Kush ( a beautiful Purple plant) next week. Now for some bud shots...they are the most important :-) I'll start with a couple of shots of buds from the Fatty Bubba and the Pakistan Chital, it was cut down last week, so these buds are partially dry, I trim them from this state and then put in jars for curing. So now here's the pictures.

so we reached the final day. almost 13 weeks outdoor grow came to end. after 48 hours of total darkness and no water time for harvest .half of her litlle hair are whita and most of the rest are brown. it had to be done in a corner of my workshop(hence the machinery) where noone would bother. gloves schissors etc and there i go. it was a pain in the ass and quite time consuming. it took me an hour and a half for 50 grams. i hang it on a welding rod in one piece because i forgot to take more clothpins but i think it will not dry properly so tomorrow i will cut it in smaller pieces and then total darkness until the first stage of drying is done something like 10-12 days. in all the plant was very small probably because it didnt had time to for full vegetative growth probably because she was shocked from the transplant which is a mistake i will not do again with an autoflower, she just got 30 cm height. the yield is quite small but i tell you guys tha smell in the darkroom is intoxicating. i just wish the bloody pigeons didnt eat the rest of my plants now i would have 4 instead of 1. i also noticed that there was a lot of resine left on the gloves and the tools. anyone knows any way of taking it off? im not leaving it there even if i have to smoke the gloves themselves. im thinking of freezing them to crystalize it and then scraping it off. anyway i will post again while it is drying. any ideas for the rest of the procedure will be most apreciated. TNX

these are todays pics. the plant seemed to me like it was heatstroke so i removed it from the sun. it also had signs of nutrient starvation which should not be the case since it is properly fed. so i check the ph and it was found to be 7.7 too high. i think it might be a nutrient lock out so i water it with distilled water for a couple of days and i will restart feeding it with N-P-K fertilizer from tomorrow but since the ph of our tab water is still to high i try to find ways of lowering it. my grandpa used vinegar to do so but i dont know the right portion. does anybody have any idea? also does anybody know what are the white spots on the leaves? am i missing something? im not a first time grower and i come from a farmers family last years plants which i got from my friends in creta who are traditional cultivators, went to become taller than me (i am 1,83) but i cant have that going on so i got seeds from holland this time but compare to the greek ones they seem to be too sensitive or may be im missing something. any idea, any help would be most welcome. tnx

This brings back nice memories - Caboose is crazy..lol Short packed with gigantic leaves , internodes at a distance of under 1 cm often, a real mess BUt what a killer strain and wonderful smoke. I don't know if you picked some leaves to let more lights reach the compact dense buds but I found out the more leaves I picked the more and larger leaves came back. Anyway you can reap it once the white of the buds has turned mostly to a graphite dark color. Strainhunters seeds are the B O M B ! If i had to stick to just 2 genetics I'd pick Damnesia as my (Sativa dominant) Hybrid and the Caboose as my go to Indica , that's how good it is ..not the biggest producer but the quality makes it more than even, just plant one more plant than from larger/taller + fatter plants

Unfortunately, not all ten hatched. I already have eight seedlings. The #10 germ of seedling turned brown in two places and the cotyledons fallen off. The #6 does not show any sign of life. Even so, 80% of the hatching rate, which you can call it good. THX! Approx. Vegetative stage will be eight weeks long. I know for sure while they grow to an appropriate size and cloning is going to happen. Pictures tomorrow. Peace!

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
