it has been 10 days since the seeds got soaked and germinated. there is not much happening at this point, they are developing slowly but surely with 2 true leaflets currently and third set probably showing later today or tomorrow there is only 180watts or so in my veg tent so they wont be the fastest vegging plants you will see here:) but once they start getting some of that 600w hps i have in flower tent they will start developing fast im sure, i might even put them under the 12/12 hps before they are fully matured adults if it will fit my current cycle but i have not decided yet how i will grow them the fifth seedling i germed is still doing nothing even tho it looks alive hehe i might have damaged it also when screwing around i will never know i will replace the 5th with 1 or 2 seeds in couple days if nothing happens also i finally have that heat pad for babys and clones

6.11.2015 I germ another seed for A411 and put A410 to hydro. 8.11.2015 A410 moved to bloom tent and i add nutes, EC 0.65 and PH 5.6. 9.11.2015 New seed i germ for A411 has been fully open and i start count veg days. Shes also going to hydro with veg. Can see small differences on leafs. A46 has more wide leafs than other plants. A411 A410 in bloom tent

Small update on the germing development It has been little slow start after initial germination, more than likely because i gave them less than optimal cooler night temperatures this time. Few degrees off the optimal germination range can sometimes mean few lost days in seedling development but im in no hurry this time i should have setup germination heatpad for the winter months long time ago to give new plants optimal germination temps.... i can only blame my self for the starting speeds as i did not take care of it properly anyway 4 seeds are now up and developing in veg tent the 5th seedling got a bit stuck on its shell so i dug it up yesterday to find it was still completely closed so i helped her open up with scalpel and put back in the medium it seems to be growing tap root out now

2.11.2015 All seeds cracked and planted A46-A47 to coco, A48-A49 to soil and A410-A411 to rockwool. 4.11.2015 First 5 seedlings moved to veg tent under 250spna, maybe 400w hps/mh soon. Only A411 is not come up. 5.11.2015 Today is the day i start count veg days for fastest 5 seedling. A411 still hiding under eazy plug, i had too much moist in my minigreenhouse so dunno if that make things slow or killed seed. Im thinking about soaking new seed in few days if nothing happens. Ill wait for roots come thru rockwool cube before i move A410 to dwc. Seedlings in soil Seedlings in coco Seedling in rockwool A49 A47

i would not get too hung up on those recommended ec values as they are way way too high anyway in most cases, and they are def high in cannas case far away from the ec ranges for growing seedless buds. the values would fit more for growing big fruit plants despite the companys name... it is far more beneficial to visualize the plants nutrient needs and to follow steady ec level than following the blind numbers they give as almost every brand will tell you to use too much with few exeptions what i mean by steady ec is when you put nutrients in reservoir and water level goes down as plant drinks it you will still have same EC in there, or when you take runoff measurements from pots you dont want it to build up in time, rather get lower than up the brand im using says i should push it over 2.1ec also but im always maxing at 0.9-1.2~ with my buds, if i followed them the ec would build up rapidly in toxic levels the total ec is made up of your tap water ec + ec from nutrients, the usual maximum ec you should ever need for growing seedless buds is around 1.1ec~+tapwater ec in most cases so lets say if your tap is 0.3ec you than would max the feeding around1.4ec(prob even lower) and any more would lead to rapid nutrient build up that will couse trouble in long run giving them more than they need is actually counter productive with yield and quality of buds, even if the company tells you to use higher heroic:D ec values it only creates problems and lowers the yield in the end. there will be nutrient buildups that leads to toxicity and lockouts when not following balanced ec level simple analog i can give to this is you cant build house any faster by pushing more building blocks on site (nutrients) only way you can speed up the building speed and use more material each day is to get more workers (light&co2) in fact you might even block the working space completely:)

Hi there, back with more results. AMS Smell not so strong, fresh, pungent; taste mild, smoke heavier, classy but needs more time; can't rate the effect really, it was the 5th sample of the night. Yield is 60 g. Forest Dream The smell is amazingly sweet, berry-like, leaves a candy sweet notes on the tongue, very pleasant and smooth already, giggly, happy high. Both of my co-testers rated this as the best tasting. Would grow again, it requires a good season to fully develop, tho. Coming soon... 710 Mango, second flush (the 3 buds that remained after the deer attack) Probably the hardest and most resinous bud. Safe, G.

Well today the weather was dry with light cloud so I brought Mary outside into the yard and I noticed a funny area on the top bud, so I got a magnifying glass and checked it out only to discover she had some bud rot. It has been pretty wet over the past few days since I posted, I was going to wait and give her at least another week, but I decided it would be best to just give her the chop and harvest, rather than dig out the affected buds and then risk more damage buds or even losing everything. I was thinking about hanging the whole plant upside down, but due to the circumstances I cut off each stem and trimmed it as well as looking for any affected buds which I removed and threw away, then I hung the trimmed stems on a clothes rack and laid out the loose buds on a board resting on the bottom of the rack along with the trim in two cardboard boxes inside a sort of cupboard in darkness with the door ajar and a fan running in the room to keep the air moving and slowly dry everything. Here are some images the first image I took on the 4th november 3 days ago and everything was fine, the second image is the boxes containing the bud and trim and the third image shows everything drying. Now this grow is completed and the deed is done I will sort out a grow journal I just need to trawl through all the images I have taken. I have certainly learned a lot from my first grow and I am pleased with the fact I managed to harvest something and definitely looking forwards to the next grow.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
