I think it has really come the time to end this. First off, i'd like to thank the no longer present user I'm Sal, to which i have to give my most sincere thanks. Without him warning me over, countless times, of my mistakes, i would've probably never learned anything. He used to say Less is more, and well, goddammit he was right. Thank you 'pal. I still need to form a code around that saying, though.. Then i'd like to thank @g22 for heavily supporting me during all of this. One of the friendliest and coolest peeps around here. And well, every single peep that stopped by even reading this shit-hole of a journal. Goddammit, i've corrected myself so many times throughout the journal, i'm sorry it might have been quite the pain to follow Second of all, i've pulled the rabbit out of the hat. She's still holding on her own! Dry weigh is around 9 kg. Some earth fell off, possibly half a kg. What amazes me is that when i pull dry plants out of their pots, most of them either crack, crumble or just break. GHS BioFeeding really worked great. In the next grow, i'll try to use the full recommended dosage, and see if that can be a gamechanger. Also, i'm going to be using a different light, so that's going to be very interesting to see how it develops. Cool peeps, i'll see you all by then. Which i actually do not know when it'll be.. But possibly this autumn. Until then.. Peace!

'M' pre-harvest photo's (testing, to see which ones upload and which ones are too big/detailed). Remember, M & 3 nearly died a horrible H2O2 & 'hot' media death., Lots of photo's so you have a choice, and some look the same but are taken with flash on and another with flash off (flash on shows the trichomes more, off shows the colours more). Happy Harvesting!

I'd never even thought of doing that @LedCherryBerry. Sounds like something I need to cross of my bucket list! Hey guys, now, while expensive, I wonder what flushing with vodka for the final two weeks would do. Nice collection there @g22 Happy Vodka-Bonging!

Well, it's not the same thing, but try to smoke some good buds in a bong filled with vodka, or rhum.. That just delivers you to another planet... To be cured and healed LOL

The trichomes are there!! Most clear & cloudy and a few amber dotted about. So, I've trimmed all the plants of their fan leaves while they are still alive and attached to their roots half way through their night. These leaves will be processed via bubble bags to make bubble hash. They will have half a night. Lights on after 8hr of darkness (4pm) then a long day for them leading up to The Great Chopping tomorrow noon-ish. Here's 'Bi': Happy Harvest Prep-ing!

Thanks to my cat, I've improved a humidity issue I have (storms and lashing rain = very high ambient humidity = NIGHTMARE in late flower). The carbon filtered air from the tent usually vents out of the tent via ducting through to outside (pic, top right pic, top right vent in pic). However if that air is less humid than the ambient humidity in the room the tent is in, I want some of that (less humid air in my room)! My ambient humidity was 62%. After redirecting the air for 15 mins, it went down to 56% (in the tent it was 54.3 at this time). So, my cat has kindly, yet unknowingly, lent me his cat bowl, which is just the right size to fit through a hole I have cut in the ducting, and which when placed in there perfectly redirects that air into the room - you can see the bowl in place. When not required, I'll simply tape up the hole. From the (seeled-ish) room, this air can get sucked through an AC unit on Cooling setting (if the AC unit is on). It then passes from the AC unit, through some cardboard work I did to somewhat direct the AC's cooled air, through a input fan & filter into the tent. There is a small dehumidifier in the tent which comes on as required. This small dehumidifier expels heat as well as removing humidity (water). Previously, this is a big fat pain in the backside. Now, the large AC unit provides enough cold air to cool the tent even with the small dehumidifier in there. The data of them having a fight I find rather amusing. Another thing is, that top right photo, there's a bit of tape with a green piece of wire attached. That's covering a hole I cut in the cardboard. The AC unit vents outside, creating negative pressure in the room. So I have negative pressure in the tent and in the room the tent is in. When the room door is closed, the cardboard wants to blow in off the window, so I cut a hole in the cardboard so I can decide whether to reduce the pressure in the room through that hole in the cardboard with outside air, or leave the door slightly ajar and reduce the negative pressure in the room with air from the house. It's currently lashing down with lighting and thunder outside, so I don't want that humid air as the house air is less humid, so the hole is taped shut and the room door is ajar. Just when you think you have a handle on something (ac unit), something else will need adjusting (room negative pressure). It's fun though! Happy Tweeking!

Here's 'Bi' and day 65 of flowering. Two days past the 9 weeks. Trichomes there, I just want to give this plant a little longer so I have a range of different trichome colours from the four different plants. Happy Trichome Watching!

Hi @Jose.gh, That's how I am long-curing as well. Mine are currently at 7.0c in glass jars with 62% Boveda humidity packs in them. In my wine cellar Wine, like cannabis, needs to be stored long term correctly. Now, if we were to sell it, not that we do, but if we did, long-term cured cannabis is much like a Reserve or a Gran Reserva - aged on site (by the grower) until ready to be released for the possibility of consumption. Reserve = 5 years, Gran Reserve = 10 years. So, our White Rhino Reserve we could say is a 3 month cured bud. A White Rhino Gran Reserve could be a 1 year cured bud. Happy Long-Term-Curing!

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
