I would like to ask a question to someone who is older and has true experience with different genetics from different parts of the world. I read a scary article today about global warming and it said that in 20 years from now it will be so hot. They may be just trying to scare, but it could be true also. So I would like to ask: What strains have a potential for good resistance to drought and high temperatures? Would it be indica family, sativa family, ruderallis or some kind of thing in-between? I don't think hybrids have really had enough experience to be tested like this right? So give me the name of a variety/landrace that has potential to stand up to the problems of global warming.

Greetings again. I am not against feminized seeds. I believe the Strain Hunters are doing a good job of supplying a market of demand. I am currently living in an urban environment, and I DO buy feminized seeds before. I am too poor to buy weed so I would much rather buy some fem seeds and grow them urbanlly. But I guess the main point that I wanted to make was that if I wanted to buy feminized seed, I would just go with one of the Greenhouse or Strain Hunter hybrid strains, which I believe are BOMB ASS strains. There is so many to choose from: AMS, WW, Hawaiian snow, Chem Dawg etc. Such a wide range of cannabinoids and flavours. Why would I want a feminised Landrace? It would just be like to grow as a novelty, but not really a novelty because you know it is altered, know what I mean? I think Arijan and Franco must have thought about this and are thinking about this topic in their minds too. Just to express myself some more. Peace

Yow there. Just a little thought. I really think it's great what Arjan and Franco are doing, helping to preserve landraces, and establish a bank of them. But if and when the new landrace lines are released onto the market, it is my firm belief that they should be released as REGULAR SEEDS ONLY. To do so otherwise would be kind of contradictory to the whole principle of Strain Hunters, to preserve and disseminate these genetics and get a good gene pool. There are plenty of great, great strain from Greenhouse already. If a customer wants feminized, they should go with one of those many options. But for the new Landrace genetics, I believe that you guys should morally really only release them as regular seeds , pure. Just my thoughts guys. Anybody else feel the same as me?

Well done! You guys are really doing a great job.

Has anyone tried ACE seeds? I was looking at their the other day and it seems they have many landraces and a trying to preserve them. Are they genuine? Their seeds are a little expensive.

Lao Chicken Soup (Tom gai sai sa) "Tom gai sai sa" in Lao means Boiled Chicken with marijuana. This is a Lao chicken soup dish with the addition of ganja. Ganja has been used in Laos since ancient times for recreation and medicine. It is knowledge amoungst Lao people that Ganja is good for treating bad cases of diaorehoea and stomach pains. This dish is a traditional way of consuming ganja that the whole family can enjoy. Although ganja smoking is not something that is done by everyone, Ganja Chicken Soup is something that all members of society can partake in - men, women, old people and children. It is not seen as a bad thing and is accepted as part of the culture. They say that they eat ganja chicken soup and then "muan"- have fun. I have tried this soup many times and it is good. However if you are a heavy smoker this might give you just a small mellow feeling - but for people who don't normally use cannabis, this soup can get them really high! For 4 people You need: Half a chicken sliced onion 1-2 sticks lemongrass big slices of ginger some galangal slices (if available) some whole corriander root 1 decent sized Tomato (Sliced) a little Tamarind (optional) water salt to taste a generous amount of Ganja 1) put the chicken in water with the sliced ginger, sliced galangal, and lemongrass and onion. Begin to boil. 2) When the soup has been boiling for a few minutes, add the ganja and the corriander root. Add salt. 3) Boil untill well cooked and all the flavours blend into the soup. Near the end of cooking, add the tomato slices (this adds a little sourness to the soup). Enjoy.

I am from NZ and though it has some nice stuff, I don't think we have much to offer in terms of landraces. In my opinion 80% of the country is too cold to grow real original sativas. For NZ I would try to select an early finishing variety. The weather can be very unpredictable in NZ.

The bong is an invention from Southeast Asia and southern China. The word "Bong" is a Thai word which literally means Bamboo tube. In Laos it is pronouced "Bahng". A Bong, or Bahng is not only a bamboo for smoking, but can also be a bamboo for putting things in such as food or water. For example, a homemade fireworks rocket used at a fireworks festival in Laos and constructed from bamboo is called "Bahng Fai" or "Fire Bong. So we have the SEAsian people to thank for the Bong.
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
