  1. water from air conditioning systems tends to colonize fungus and bacteria, that would be a complete NO GO. Especially for drinking it yourself. h2o2 might not kill the spores from the fungus...
  2. Hey i did some research and i found out some interesting things in gerneral about LED Grow lights. There are a lot of false-leading facts i stumbled onto. Please correct me if i understood anything wrong. and it actually comes down to a few facts: 1. What kind of LED chip is the best for grow lights? 3-Watt give you most power. ( there are single dual and tripple chips eg. tripple chips has 3 litle 1-Watt led chips in 1 single LED. WE WANT SINGLE CHIP with 1 CHIP PER LED ARE THE BEST, the other models consum more energy have shorter life span and make more heat.(actually 1W is most energy efficient but 3w at 550mAH is only 5% less efficient but we want more power per m2 of lamp surface) 2. how much mAh the single 3Watt chip is given 500-550mAh should be best for longlife(the more mAh a chipe gets the brighter it is the hotter it gets and the faster it burns and breaks, remember this led technology is heat-destroyed if your led gets too hot it will loose brightness ! ) 3. The manufacturing company of LED-Chips (e.g Osram, 3M, Epistar) choses for what 3w-led chip model for a specific nanometerwavelength in terms of efficiency ( some companies make verry good chips only for 1 or 2 wavelengths a growlight should contain LED chips from several BIG-LED manufacturers and only the best chips for the specific wavelengths the manufacturer is known to be best on the market for) 4. and what total wavespectrum is covered with what intensity in micromol/m2 5. The design of the lamps: I read about some lense systhems that fokus the light for best "penetration" (Hydro grow: pleds to have the best Lense system, but i have seen other models from china, that seem to have similar if not the same lens systhem) if you want to combine everythin i just wrote here it somes down to a verry important Value that is the result of all this PAR= the radiation only plants can use / need to grow ( photosynthetic radiation ) but even the PAR-Value is not completely significant. the PAR-Spectrum ( that contains many singel wavelengths e.g. 660nm, 640nm...) also contains infrared- radiation also known as heat. I think some of the wavelengths of the par spectrums also have a negative effect on plant growth so too much of a certain wavelength locks good on the total PAR value but might be actually bad for real-life performance of the light later. UV-radiation (too much) is damaging the DNA of all organisms it causes burning of the plant leaves if too much simple heat (infrared) is also in too much quantity verry bad. ( thats why we dont put the HPS too near to the plants. )(but there should be some uv radiation emitted from the grow light) BUT unwanted/damaging heat increases the total PAR value because PAR = every single wavelength measured in photons (micro-moles) added together to the micro-moles of the whole PAR-Spectrum Here a Video where if you stop and compare the LED model in the infrared nm-wavelength to the HPS the led has almost no infrared and the HPS has almost only infrared(way too much) but in the end HPS has a nice PAR value because of the infrared. FUTURE: I think future developments will go to 1. Better-more efficient spectrum of par light and programmable light ( change of wavelengths during the plantlife, that stimulates budding better and makes the plant grow better maybe even simulate in a program the sunshine prifile of the prime locations in the world ( himalaya, marroko, nut maybe thats hype ;-) ) 2. Special wavelengths to controll plant growth better: there are certain wavelengths that stimulate "shade" and actually makes tha plant grow taller so it will reach more light. I think this can be used to specifically let the smaller plants grow ore in length so the cannape is equally high. I personally think at the moment "Hydro Grow" is the Number 1 Company is case of Lens systhems and maybe spectrum of growth light. I definately try to order a light from china that is most simillar to their penentrator Pro x model. If only every company would give an accurate PAR-Value of their LED-Grow lights ;-( If somebody can give me more information on Led lights PAR spectrum, i would be verry happy for your contribution. Maybe we can customize and order our own Grow -Light if we find enough people to stem the money we can easily organize that, and push down the prize + worldwide shipping guess. Solimbum
