I recently cut some clones and put them in a cloning water air bubbler and was wondering if to put them on a 18/6 light time or if just to keep them on a 24 time light....whats the difference ?

I saw that someone said that 2 tablespoon of salt in a gallon of water would deal with spider mites,my question to that would be how will the salt affect my plants growth since there still in vegetative stages....
