  1. Here's the history as i understand it. Panama red is one of the infamous 1970's sativa strains. It's a cross between westafircan sativa and local Panama landrace. In the 60's and 70's enterprising hippies began exporting it to the united sates and it became a favorite particularly on the west coast. Unfortunately, the drug war and the fall of Noriega put a pretty good stop to its export. Today, it can still be found online from a number of seed dispensaries however its typically crossed with cinderella 99, a cross between jack herra and shiva skunk. Its nice but not the original. The real deal landrace can be found on the pearl islands off the west coast of panama. Bring your rustic sensibilities as these islands are poor and offer only basic accommodation. An afternoon in the local beach bar should go a long way to getting you a taste or maybe even a tour of the field. Unfortunately, the best stuff i had was seedless. It was very thin, fluffy and very red. Not a lot of bud but very high quality. My guess is that a 10 ft plant would yield only maybe 220 gr dry or that at least what i saw. The seeds I have, have not been cracked yet. Ill post pictures when I decide to start them. Hope that helps.
  2. As miss kitty cat said keep temp consistent and water aerated with an o2 stone. Also, with hydro it's best to keep ph lower than 7.0. I keep my eb and flo system at 5.8 during veg and 6.3 during flower. Keeps the girls looking great and taking in optimal levels of nutes. Good luck man.
  3. Thats good advice. How long wold you suggest to leave the system flooded for before draining it? Thanks A bunch man
  4. Ill be using power feeding
  5. how many times would you water during veg? How many times during flower?
  6. Hey Lams, Ill be doing clay pebbles. Thanks for the website ill check it out. Sneeky
  7. Hey everyone, I'm still learning the ropes of hydroponic gardening and was hoping to get some advice. I'm growing with an EB and FLO system and i need to set a timer to monitor how often water is fed through the medium. Dose anyone know how often i should set the intervals? Thanks, Sneeky
  8. kastu and the rockery! Katsu's in a cool neighborhood with a park and lots of bars. Really good cheese and widow.
  9. Hey guys, I'm about to pop the himalayan gold. I'm planning on giving the girls a month under a 1000w HPS and 1000w MH to get started before i flip them to 12/12. I grow them in an eb n' flo hydro system with co2 treatment at 2000 ppm. Here are my question? What can i expect for a yield? I have never grown this before but I'm thinking 800 gr. per m2 is an outrageous claim. Am i wrong? My plants will finish about a 1/2 m2 and with the use of co2 I'm guessing maybe best case I could do 275-350 gr. max. Second question is has anyone used the ghsc power feeding fertilizer? Its looks interesting but I'm a little skeptical about how high the nitrogen level is. N 15 during flowering is too much right? I have always cut it to N-3 or 4 nothing ever higher during my flowering phases. I thought to much nitrogen during flowering makes bud taste to grassy, causes it to burn funny and encourages bud to stretch instead of gaining density. If this information is wrong please let me know. Im looking to have a fantastic grow, anyone with experience growing Himalayan gold yield or using power feeding please give me your thoughts. thanks, Sneeky
  10. Im trying very hard to hone in my co2 system. I would appreciate anyones help. peace love smoke

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
