  1. Thanks Dust i thought that as well. Basically the whole roof area of approx 150sq ft measures a temp of approx 4.5c. My car parked next to it registers the same temp on the roof of the car. The area (6 - 8sqft)on the roof of the grow area measures 7.5c. A difference of approx 3c.Can they pick up this low temperature from 1km away? So sorry bout colour etc i messed up something! LOL
  2. Had a scare today when a police helicopter was hovering nearby, approx 1km away. Then it moved about another 1km away then moved again. Approx 5 mins in each position. My grow room is approx 50metres from any house and is a total of 8sq ft in size. Really well insulated especially the roof area. Used my two part thermometer to measure the outside temperature and the roof area above the room. Otside temp is 4.9c and the temp of the roof is 7.9c. These are all outside temps. My question is can a camera that far away pick up this difference in temp? Have shut down for the night until i can get some answers. Dont really want to rip them out as this is my first grow and they are growing really well. Hope this is the right forum post area. Apologies if not.
  3. Sorry for the confusion on the temps. They referred to outside temps. My rez temp is a constant 22c - 25c but room temp sometimes gets a bit warm ie averaging 33c.
  4. Wow Tokage, from the size of your airstones i definitely need BIGGER airstones. Mine is probably 5% of the surface area of yours. My airpump is a double feed one so will get bigger stones tomorrow. Thank you friend. Any thoughts on growth rate?
  5. Thanks Tokage. Sad?? in what way my friend? To me as a novice they seem pretty healthy, apart from the yellow spots LOL! They sure smell good in there!!!
  6. Yes got an airstone in there. Only a small one though. Bigger one??
  7. As this is my first ever grow would appreciate some feedback from you guys on the progress of my plants. Am growing in a NFT system, 400w HPS light and Sensi parts A and B nutrients. Seeds were germinated on Jan 5th ie first put into a damp towel so progress is from that date onwards. Plants are 3 x Jack Herer and 2 x Super Silver Haze. Plant heights are 8 -9" or 200 -225mm now. My intention is to SCROG them soon. Am currently on a 18/6 light cycle. When do you think is time to put them on a 12/12 cycle? and when would it be time to start SCROGing them? Also as you can see from pics have a few yellow spots (appeared last week). They seem to have stopped getting worse but they are only appearing on three of the plants? Any advice. Another problem i have is low R/H 20 -30% and cannot seem to get it up. Weather here has been extremely low last few weeks (average -1 to 4C) most days, would this have something to do with it? My nutrient level seems to be high ie 2260ppm using a Tri Meter. My water before adding nutrients is between 400 - 500ppm. Exactly what is the conversion to EC using a Tri Meter?
  8. Thanks Dust wasnt sure if this was right, will post there from now on. Respect.
  9. Another advantage i thought of linked tanks is only one measuring device, am using a Trimeter.
  10. Germinated my first ever seeds last week (8 days ago). All 5 no problem. So far they range betweem 9cms max to 5cms min. They are currently in Rockwool blocks ready to go in a NFT tank which is ready ie PH temp etc all ok. Thing is do i put them straight into a full strength nutrient solution (Sensai A + or half strength first week? They are currently on a plant starter nutrient under a fluorescent light on a 18/6 hr regime. Do they look a bit stretched? so far. Couple of pictures below. Thanks all.
  11. Thanks Tokage, good point bout the mat. I have noticed three of the seedlings seem to be shy bout poking their heads out. Have actually got my growing tray on top of a wall mounted electric water heater that is on 24/7 although it only reheats approx 2 x 30 secs periods an hour, have drilled holes in the top of it so i can regulate the heat currently 26.2C. its free heat and perfect for initial germination. Will get a small fluoroscent tomorrow and mount inside a cupboard prior to putting them in my NFT tank in the grow area. Criticisim most welcome LOL
  12. Cheers lads am on it now.
  13. Hi guys, just germinated my FIRST ever seeds (5) roots appeared in 2 days. This was done with the paper towel method in the dark and warm etc. Just put them into rockwool cubes. Do i still keep them in the dark or not and for how long?
  14. Marvellous aint it, just come on to the forum for some advice on SCROG and voila!! there it is. Just one question though, anybody grew Jack Herer, Super Silver Haze or Pure Kush under SCROG? Those are the seeds just had come from GHS and seems SCROG is the way to go for me and my available space. Any advice grateful as i am a newbie. Or can anybody recommend indicas suitable for SCROG?
  15. Am a total newbie bout to start my first ever NFT grow. My tapwater is 390ppm which equates to 0.7/0.8 EC. When i add my nutrients i presume this EC reading will go up? So do i take my original EC reading as a base figure and the increased EC reading as the true figure ie new reading minus original reading equals EC i need? Sorry guys bit confused here so forgive me.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
