  1. I'm wondering how it works? Are the hunters self-employed or they work for somebody else? As I have planning to travel in many places where the seeds are available, I could be also a strain hunter, plus not only for cannabis seeds, but for all kind of other psychotropic plant seeds: opium seeds (there are so many strains), HBWR seeds, DMT containing seeds, mescaline cactus seeds and so on, even mushroom spores. If one wants he could theoretically make a millions of spore prints. and coca seeds in South-AMerica (tho they are viable only very short of time) I have also thought about to write to some news-papers/magazines in what situation some country/or fraction of it (region) is (be it politics, big corpurations, local people, different religions, language, culture, nature, and so on) I haven't had much interest toward strain hunting, but as I thought I'll start doing the exact same thing so why not to figure out how this all machine works. Some person who know how the things work, let me know about this. Tho I could even go with other seeds hunters to the fields or is there some special rules? I'm interesting everything that comes to strain hunting. Either post it here or pm me. Also if you're in the hunting, how many seeds do you bring home, average number? do you send them back or bring them physically? Also if theres a good thread about this very same topic and questions I have asked, please post the link. I can also imagine in some places it can be pretty dangerous if you must physically go to the site, like somewhere in Asia or black Africa where they don't like white people very much even when with growers it's OK, the whole populations can meant a danger. All in all, I'm just curious, that's all. NB! if this topic belongs to some other subforum, moderators can move it to the right place.
  2. Hehe I haven't even thought about to start selling in Sweden. I thought to compare all the different taxes that come together with business with my country and Netherlands. But starting from Sweden is also a thing to consider, it's not a bad idea at all. Yes, competition is everywhere, this is not a bad thing, it helps to breed a new strains, sell with better prices, to hold a high standards etc, etc. Sweden is not a bad country, I haven't told it anywhere, I don't know where do you get this info - you must have misunderstood to me. And when I meant a term Scandinavia, I meant only Finland, Sweden and Norway, I totally forget the Denmark. There in Denmark is no problems with cannabis and different strains as far as I know. Peace now. There is no point to argue over seed banks. It's nothing relevant.
  3. Very well. I'm talking about Netherlands and UK seeds companies and Netherlands is one of the most important countries when it comes down to searching for illegal substances/items. (There are of of course many more both in Europe not to mention South-America, MIddle-East and so on.) I have seen quite s lot seeds banks that don't send seeds in de facto to Scandinavia(it's in jure illegal to import seeds both to Finland and Norway), Baltics, Russia, Ukraine, China (plus many other Asian countries and what not), some of them have even put out s colored map- to where they send and where they don't. With some countries it's a big problem that seeds gets taken away by customs(and this is a big headache for seed company), with others there are big problems with credit card scams and so on and so on. Some just don't ship seeds where they are illegal. There can be so many reasons behind this. And this is not only with cannabis seeds so. It can be whatever material or service type things that are sold. There are literally hundreds of seeds sellers and after all this is not about this thread point. I just give you one example: http://sensiseeds.com/faq/country.asp If Sweden companies sell seeds to everywhere in Europe (and to other countries) it's very cool by me. I know there have been some very good RC companies in Sweden that have sent their chemicals to my country and many other places. It's been closed now by many years. Now you gave me a pretty good idea, I could start a company in my own country and operate in other county. It's nothing new, in fact it's very common. But I have still to look where are the cheaper taxes.
  4. Yay! I though it's only cannabis based forum as I didn't saw this forum till today - probably because theres lot's of forums in other languages. Liberty caps are one of my favorites also, but they don't suit for indoors at all. I'm a big psychedelic user: but I prefer synthetical material as than you know how much to ingest as here we are dealing with serious psychedelics. Plus theres so many very fine chemicals from early lsd to modern day research chemicals.
  5. I want to bring them to Netherlands or perhaps to UK. Some seeds I will take along with me to give them to Indian cannabis farmers to grow. If they would be legal in Germany, than I would transport the seeds to there. I want to start a small seeds selling and breeding company. There are many of them, but many don't send seeds to Scandinavia and to East-Europe or if they send, in many times customs just confiscate them. I have also a bigger ideas for what I need a capital (I don't like bank loans). As I haven't never been to Morocco, I want to visit this nation so I either send them to Spain at first or bring them with me when I leave or do the both. But I may want to visit other nearby African countries also to see if theres also some good randrace cannabis strains. I would like to start this business in my own country as I would know the all major laws or can check them up fast(as they change over time), but as here cannabis seeds are illegal (they are playing with laws and twist them to whatever direction they want), so I have to start under other jurisdiction where I don't know nothing about this country laws related with business(nor even the language). But in the UK it would be a common law like in USA instead of civil law that is the legal system in the whole European Union (except UK and Ireland), Russia, China, etc. What do you, Dust, would recommend regarding bringing seeds? Edit: to all: Hows the situation in Egypt and Turkey right now? It seems the whole region is very hot right now. I hope it cools down for some what as I want to go via Turkey, Iran and Pakistan to India and neighbour countries in this autumn. Why not to fly? Because it's a cheap way and gives you a good picture of this region culture and ordinary people lifes(and a very good chances to collect different cannabis strains). Maybe I come back with plane -but I have already different plans for it -maybe only than if I'm too tired.
  6. I mostly interested in growing side/pharmacology/strains info/cannabis science/etc, not about a general talk. I didn't believe my eyes in morning when I read in online news it (and many other sites) had all been shut dawn by police many many years ago by now. Here is what I have found: Questions The Famous Overgrow Marijuana Cannabis GrowFAQ : 800+ Grow FAQ Basic Topics http://www.onlinepot...asic_Topics.htm Main Index Of The Famous Overgrow Marijuana Cannabis Strains Guide & Reviews, http://www.onlinepot...rainsIndex.html If you have the whole forum or only sections of it, please upload it or if you know the site where this archive is still possible to download, post it here. I have met a couple ones, but they don't work anymore. Too much time has passed.
  7. Thanks, I'll start looking info about those strains. And to Dust: Yes Typhoon was originally developed in South-Sweden, I have seen this strain pics and those plants are pretty big, but I don't remember if they were indica or sativa dominant, probably still sativa. To bad I canceled than the seeds swap. I did grown some Lebanon strains than and it was one of the best autumn in regards of weather, Only a bit of mold I got. I have seen original first generation gurilla gold in Canadian querilla style grow , well there was plenty of plants and they were so nice and early bloomers. Maybe things will go differently, but as this is an open forum, I can't say any details. But in reality I really need a strain that would do without watering. One thing is when you grow near a lake or river and you have a water pump, another is when you don't have no water source and try water hundreds of plants only using your hands. It's possible, but all those tracks that are left and it takes so much time, just to much. Another thing is soil. I can fertilize it, but this kind of soil is bad, it dries so quickly. Is there somewhere a site how farmers grow cannabis or hemp, theres no difference in commercial amounts. I'm very interested in what soil they grow(around the world) and watering (in many places you just don't have any water, plants need to handle it). As I'm sure you don't find mexicans 50 000 plants log somewhere in deep forest. Also is there a thread about technology for querilla style? like micro-drones for scanning area and alarm systems multiple miles before a grow site. I was told about 10 years ago if you need things like those than you have a bad spot, but I think he forgot we live in age of technology and war on drugs.
  8. What would be the best strain candidates for cold climates for querilla style growing (not taking much care of them at all, so they should do their own with dry periods, in poor soil (dries quickly, can get to acidic) only at the start can one stabilize the soil Ph), there would be no fertilizing etc. You imagine the climate to be similar to the most coldest places in Canada, also like in South-Finland, Russian north part, and Northern Sweden. Nordic climate is this called in short. You can put plants out somewhere in mid May and let them grow till mid October (but it's risky as weather can go very bad like raining everyday for a week or more so it must be very mold proof). I know from other Nordic countries experiences that there can be good strains and there is. But of course it should have a good yield, smooth taste and with strong effects. I know I want so much - but this thread is about the best of the best strains ever breed for North. I have heard good words toward querilla gold (Canadian strain, should be quite rare, at least it was about three years or more ago. I think the strains that are doing good in Northern Canada or in Denmark (if they finish there like in mid September, than it means they would finish here in early to mid October-it depends on many factors). But still the key worlds are: mold proof and growing in bad soil without any care. So I think the best would be if they would finish here in early September as than there are not much rain. Also the yield is important and the effects. There is no point to grow weak weed in it's effects. I also know that Middle-East and North-Africa landrace sativas do pretty good in cold climates. If you have something to suggest, please do so, or suggest me some old threads, different magazine articles, etc. It's all welcome. Thanks to all. I live in front of Finland, but don't mention my country in this thread as this can be find via google search engine and my country is really small. If you live in cold climate area, tell me about your experiences with different strains or if you have a thread about it here, just let me the link.
  9. I doubt for some reason that high THC content is related with strong hallucinogenic effects if you suggest that. The thing with strains with high THC content is that you need to smoke much less than you would normally do. I have studied a tiny bit of cannabis pharmacology, and what I learned was a long time ago. I thought to start doing research, but as I live country where I don't have an access to different strains and chemistry laboratory, it's impossible. And growing is out of the question as if I would get caught, than here I would go for prison (if it's big amount than it's sure, if under 10 plants than not, if I get a good lawyer) and from the streets you get only what is offered - you never know the strain info (only grower knows if it's ordered from seeds bank (not picked from some seedy buds) and if it's smuggled from other countries (still 90% is grown here) it's a quite possible that the bulk seller don't know also the strain info - there are in most cases a middleman between the grower and buyer (and usually many). After that the last chain is giving different name for cannabis like white widow etc(always the most popular strains of course) but it''s only for marketing. In one day if land in Netherlands I can do empirical studies. As for the hallucinogenic effects, than I think theres different mechanisms for it.
  10. I'm looking very psychedelic yet with anti-anxiety relieving mechanism of action strains. What are the best candidates for this criteria? I didn't saw any thematic topic about anxiety, so I thought to make one as I know there are many people who suffer from wide range of anxiety disorders. What strains have worked for you? Did it play any role when the cannabis plant was harvested, how it was stored, grown and other similar things? Also it could be useful to name what strains to avoid with this condition as some strains bring up heavy anxiety even if they are mediocre at best in their effects. And some strains cause anxiety even in those who don't have normally any anxiety - this can be caused of course because some people aren't used with very psychedelic strains or if they are beginners, cannabis can cause many time paranoia (a form of fear) I haven't looked much into the mechanisms in regards what (chemicals in cannabis) bring up those anxiety attacks and in hard cases even panic attacks. This could be place where to post medicinal news and research articles related with (anti)anxiety and cannabis links. Also previous threads where this kind of topics have been discussed previously. Also it's a place where to post hypothesis and theories what chemicals in cannabis might trigger these above mentioned effects. I hope this thread will help people to be more aware in future what strains he/she can (recommended) smoke and what are best to be avoided. Lets keep this thread as scientific and empirical as possible. And please remember - this thread would cover only anxiety disorders: from different phobias to panic disorders to OCD to stress to PTSD. I don't only know as weather this thread should be only about natural cannabis or also different classes of synthetics (as many clinical studies are done with synthetical cannabinoids (there it can get lot's of useful information as natural cannabis is mix of many active cannabinoids that makes it very complex to study)
  11. Are cannabis seeds legal in Morocco? I know that in Spain side cannabis seeds are legal so no problem there, but what about Morocco side? Of course I would wash the seeds very pure from bud particles before carrying them over the boarder. I'm talking amounts like 1-2 kilos or a bit more of seeds. Same question for Lebanon, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Iran and thats pretty much all. Thanks who knows or who can refer me to some trustful site. I have been looking, but google.com only shows me a wide variety of seeds sellers. If there exists such a site with seeds legibility info, it would be very cool as I would like to know some Asian countries and Central Asia legality also, but the most needed info at the moment is related with Morocco. If such a site don't exist, it would be well worth to create this list as everybody knows for sure theirs country laws tho muslim law is very different than our European continental civil law or common law (UK, USA and many others), but it should be still be certain. Thank you.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
