In Florida there is talk of only allowing that strain to be grown. In my opinion that will never work

My first set up was using a 600 but when I made the jump to 3000+ watt grows it was more cost effective at the time to only have to get 3 of everything.... I guess the question is how many lumens can a plant take before it is stressed. ... After some searching I found this awesome article in high times. Read this shit*** http://www.hightimes.com/read/let-there-be-light Read that shit ^^^ For those of you who can't read <lol>it says the most a plant can handle is 5000 lumens per Sq ft using 2000ppm of co2.. Fuck ya for the Internet and Google x]

LED can be misleading, one of the most common tricks is that (150w led =400w hid or some similar quote[hps or metal halide]) this is not true at least for now. As far as tents are concerned I have used the secret garden tents and one other brand I can't remember the name. They are nifty because of pre made holes for fans and lighting attachments but are damn near impossible to set up by yourself and the cheaper ones tend to leak light or have faulty zippers or easily torn. I have found you can assemble your own for a fraction of the cost using the clothing closets sold at Walmart (About $30) or you can custom build one from materials found at lowes/homedepot. Always check on Craigslist for deals.(used gear is fine, if you think about it the first time you plug something in it is technically used) Depending on your budget there are tons of options. If you want post a link to the items you are looking at and I will be glad to help as best I can.

I don't understand how you got light burn. I use 3 1000s every time, just never had the extra $ to only run a single plant.

Thanks exodus, how much do you use for a dosages, what about time it takes for skin absorption

Also assume heat is not a factor because of environmental controls

Saw a garden with a questionable light to plant ratio and it brought an interesting topic to my head. From my experience a 1000 watt light will do nicely in a 8x8 room. Suppose you only use one plant, what if you added 2 more 1000 watt lights and remain with one plant. My general knowledge is that it's not about plant count but grams per watt produced. At what point does the cannabis plant go into light shock. I assume 10x 1000 watts for one plant might be over kill, but maybe not. Any thoughts are welcomed Cheers!

Any suggestions for a topical lotion. I have tried tinctures and wax/oil. I would like something that you just rub on your skin like Burts beeswax.

Good luck on your grow. I experimented with autos about 2 years back, definitely interesting. In my experience the key thing after choosing the strain is getting it the lumens. The more light the better, I would avoid skimping on your lights, yes you may save a few bucks but the end result will be less. Especially in autos! I prefer the sun system 2s running 1000 watts with 6 inch ducting. If your short on cash don't blow $ on co2. Worried about humidity? Get a dehumidifier from amazon or ebay make sure you also have a set up for Intake and exhaust fans. Air exchange is crucial! Make sure to keep a clean grow room and use preventative methods to avoid spider mites. Trashing all your plants because of those little asshole can be a real aggravation. Most importantly enjoy yourself. I find that a boom box/radio in or near the grow space can improve general moral greatly! Cheers!

Thanks! I will be starting a new grow shortly. First and foremost is the planning stage. I find its key in every grow. My intention is to grow the kalishnikova strain this time. A few questions... 1) in the ghs youtube channel they did a nice job on demonstration if that strain, I couldn't find the information on what soil they used or what nutrients were involved. Usually I run happy frog soil mixed with the Grey bag of promix at a ratio of 3 scoops happy frog to 1 scoop promix and the the go box from general hydroponics all in 5 gallon buckets. 2) I normally run a ph of 7 all the way through. Why do the guys at gh run the pH in the range of 5.0 -6? 3) was there a significant increase in yield for this strain when grown outdoors or the lab test pretty much the max that this specific strain can produce? Cheers
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
