How do one calculate sativa/indica percentage when breeding? Is it only based on the parents? Say 80% indica x 20% indica = 50% indica (80+20/2=50). Or do one also look at phenotypes, and how would one know what to calculate on? iStoned

Hi, Since last winter I've worked to build up a new NPO in Sweden. And thanks to Green House Seeds I managed to do so. Fria Fröet (Free The Seed), is a cannabis movement aiming to educate and normalize cannabis in Sweden. We do so with competitions on facebook and seed give-aways during events around all over Sweden. We are still working on the final adjusment until we register the NPO, but first we want to start our new weekly competition. The subject is Landraces and we will talk about a specific landrace, such as Malawi Gold and tell all about it. And in the end we will in some kind of way ask a question about something from the geographic area in which the landrace comes from. So, my question is if there is a list of landraces and information about them anywhere so I don't have to do the research? Thanks in advance

Since Uruguay was the first country to legalize it , I would find it interesting to learn about that and also see what land races they have. They seem to have humid and warm climate so it's possible they got some killer weed out there waiting to be discovered by someone

Congratulations to the winner! Once again awesome pictures!

Hi! I know this isn't from seed to harvest but I'm planning to change strain after a few harvests so you might be there for my next seed to harvest journal if you think it's important. I am currently rebuilding my grow room which I will show later on when it's getting done. As for now I keep my plants in a small tent as they still are in the vegetative state and before that I had them in a closet which was too small and to warm which is the reason for my new project. The grow room will be 160cm x 160cm and with 245cm in height. Veg room will be 160 x 71 split into two, one for clones 75cm height and one for rooted clones at 170 height. I plan to have maximum 12 plants in bloom at two stages with around 30 days between every harvest. Now this what I have so far.. ICED WIDOW from GORILLA CANNABIS SEEDS #1 2014-06-04 - 7,5ml nutrition 2014-06-14 - pH 6.5 7,5ml nutrition 2014-06-16 - Height 19cm 2014-06-17 - Plant looks unhealthy 2014-06-18 - Height 21cm 2014-06-20 - 30ml nutrition 2014-06-21 - Flushed 2014-06-22 - Height 24cm 2014-06-28 - pH 6.9, Height 28cm, soil temp. 21,8C WHITE LEMON from STRAINHUNTERS #1 2014-06-15 - Height 7,5cm 2014-06-18 - Height 8cm 2014-06-22 - Height 10cm 2014-04-27 - Transplanted 2014-06-28 - pH 6,0, Height 11cm, soil temp. 20,4C WHITE LEMON from STRAINHUNTERS #2 2014-06-15 - Height 5,5cm 2014-06-18 - Height 6cm 2014-06-22 - Height 7,5cm 2014-04-27 - Transplanted 2014-06-28 - pH. 5.3, Height 9cm, soil temp. 20,4C

It was a harvest on three of eight plants in total 55g dried, atm in curing. I have 5 plants left, one will harvest next week, and the other four in about 2-3 weeks, since they have way more sativa genetics. I have now also the last 4 clones of White Lemon in flowering. After this I will try ScrOGing a mix bag of autos (GHS)

Last harvest 3 plants, 5 left 2-3w behind

Wow this was a huge list. I might use some of this in my brochure about cannabis

I'm stuck with regular hash from Christiania in Denmark. But next week it's white lemon harvest! So in a month or so I got the good shit

For clumsy stoners, acrylic. I do prefer glass bongs.

The trouble with LED as I seek great lights is the huge variation of Chinese and American brands. The reviews I do find is few and the information the companies give about the lights is often limited or not to be trusted completely. So what I wish is to depend on the growers experiences. How many grams/watt do you get from your light? and if you've tried other lights, how is the LED and the brand compared to what you used previous? Which lights should be recommended to the raising numbers of growers around the world? Which lights should not be recommended?? Here's a list of lights I was recommended to use. If anyone tried them please tell if it was any good http://californialightworks.com/ http://www.advancedledlights.com/ http://www.357magled.com/ http://www.hydrogrowled.com/EXTREME-LED-Grow-Lights-C60.aspx

http://thestonedsociety.com/2014/11/11/netherlands-votes-growshop-law/ "Today a majority of the Dutch Senate voted for the so-called growshop law, essentially prohibiting the supply, preparation and facilitating of illegal cannabis grows." "It is already illegal to grow cannabis in the Netherlands, but now also supplying (even water cans and regular soil) and preparations (electrical construction for example) is illegal and punishable, depending on the size and personal vs commercial grows, by jail sentences up to 3 years" Is this true and how would it affect the business, and the quality of weed in Amsterdam?
-
Yeah, many talk about Barcelona as some new Amsterdam. But never been there so don't know
-
Totally agree! This is in total opposite of what's happening in the world. This some big pharma "donate" to his campagin maybe?
-
I really don't hope Amsterdam change too much. It seems like the new government wouldn't make it very long if businessmen and investors loose money on this enourmous market.

Collecting lighters from every ganja-trip I do. Now I'v only been to Amsterdam a few times so my collcetion is not big at all

It would be to expensive to maintain and control. It's not like they come and check the wine you make at home. Sure it might work for medicinal and recreational shops. But in the end it will be allowed to grow at home. And that would be impossible to check. And another thought... what would stop people from buying 15% weed and make som BHO?
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
