  1. I guess the "Game" sometimes just has a lack of imagination. i've count 21 strains called Skunk or 29 Northern Light without counting autos. The subject is not arguing about phenos or variations; Different taste can be found such as the world famous Cheese or Orange bud apparently coming from a pheno of skunk #1 during the 90's, with such a different taste. Breeding is like art, wanting to explore many aspect of the plant, taking and choosing the best part of it, in taste, high, colour, weight. But if someone want to sell and commecialize a strain done 2 years ago or more, finding a new aspect of what has been worked and done already, he should imagine another name in my opinion. Like in music, there is the Beatles, Pink floyd and there are the covers, musicians who sing the same music with even variations, but at least they don't call themself the beatles, they choose another name to show the difference, even if the songs are the same. And sometimes covers can be much better than the original such as some phenos can be found at the end much better than the original strain, with much more evolution; matter of taste. For exemple once someone decided to commecialize the Blueberry, and decide to show the sativa side of the plant calling it Blue Velvet while another one claimed to have crossed the Blueberry with the Northern light calling it Blue Mystic. There is no matter with this at all. The bubblegum can be call bubblegummer or bubblelicious, every one will anderstand it comes surely from the same plant; just a variation; but why wanting to have the same name? It could be precise in the description, and everyone would anderstand it. This is not at all a reproach, just a perception. Didn't want exactly to say "Copyright", but something like a "patent" maybe, in order to be more honest with the pioneer of the creation. How many Rihanna or Jason Mraz exist on earth? It is for sure allowed to paint like Rembrandt, but the painter won't be Rambrandt neither, so choosing another signature for his painting could be an option. I think we are getting some real stable genetics, but not in general. Feminised seeds are really new, more or less 10 years only, while regular has been there since thousand of years. And i think feminised should be used to lock a pattern while Reg could still keep phenos and variations. In the future, S1, "Selfed" should be more use in order to keep the plant the way the breeder wants to offer to the world, showing for real the pheno he has chosen. IBL was the best way to try to keep this specific identification of the plant, when there was just Regular seeds, and the Hindu Kush is a good exemple of it. Phenos, variations, evolutions; there is nothing wrong with that. The cannabis was existing before giving it a name, even before that someone took the idea to use it in many form, from eating it to making incense of it in order to parfume the place of positives and high energies. One of the oldest record of using the plant was probably in the chinese culture, more than 5000 years ago. Egyptian also were using the plant even during the pharaons ect. Man has invented nothing in the biological way, but had the idea to cross them in order to combine taste, effect, height, weight, color, speed of grow. Without it, birds would never have bring strains from hawaii to Egypt. But the trade of seeds was already there 1000 years ago anyway. Good grow n smoke to everyone whatever your weed is named...
  2. Should there be a Copyright on strains?
  3. Smoking weed with the president of Uruguay
  4. ...Patience...
  5. At least, i've been watching this expedition 5 times minimum...! At 07:19 Arjan takes the Church and says :"It's full of seeds, hein?". Did you kept the seeds of this cross born in those mountains? =)
  6. One of the highest legendary strain! A bit long to flower and fluffy say some people, but really worth it to smoke because of the wellness high it produces. Ideal to make our own charras if the grow is big enough. The highest is the field, the highest should be the effect, isn't it?! Just waiting to grow it !!!... Really nice also to know exactly where does this plant comes from in her original place of birth.
Edit: KEEP IT SIMPLE 2.0
  8. ...3rd Pure Kush
  9. I imagined Jason Mraz smaller, don't know why?...
  10. Segunda prensa de los residuos de hindu kush y blueberry. (hecho a mano con tami artisanal)
  11. Primera prensa de los residuos de hindu kush y blueberry.
  12. You have a nice panel of taste and effect, should look nice !! Two landraces at least (Mexico and Hawai), and nice tasty strains such as the mystic and the bubble. Hope the blue, is going to catch up some color on the buds, not only on the leaves, and the bubble too, which should get some pink buds at the end of the flowering...Wish you all the best for your nice mix of genetics! Nice start, good luck !!
  13. I though Canada was more smart than many other country, maybe i am wrong...Wasn't the M39 invented by the Canadian government during a period, such as the G13 in U.S, about the way?!
  14. Hello everyone !! Well, at least until you are allowed to grow or to smoke it, it's all right ! Of course coffee shops or dispensaries are great too because you have access to a lot of different strains, and hash that you can try and discover from day to day !! Far, far from life sentence jail and death penalties! I think we'll recognize "clever" countries in the futur... A really honest hand shake to Mr José Mujica, President of Uruguay, on the way. Let's keep it real ! Dream on...
  15. This cream looks so fresh... Just a dream smoking it, without any mix in it, under its pure form from Mother Earth! Really nice !
  16. Lemon skunk doesn't lie on her name, eyes closed, picked up between ten, you could recognize this unique zesty smell! Really tasty old school skunk strain! Harvested after 2 weeks flushing at the 9th week of flowering, indoor, 36h in the dark. Lemon skunk (organic)
  17. This looks excellent and tasty indeed ! You made a really good description of the taste/effect, cheers !
  19. F.E.L.I.C.I.T.AT.I.O.N.S ( It's the best way to watch it evolve outdoor, like they can take the place they want!).
  20. Where is the Himalaya Gold ? Is it out to bring the news varieties that you've been hunting for ? Are you updating this variety ? Are you making waiting the customers wishing after it ? OR have you lost for real and forever the genetic =( ?... White widow x himalaya could be a nice one isn't it? Or himalaya x morocco ? Pffff, my mind is rushing all the time lol. Landraces are the "bigbang" of the cannabis culture we are in now, in 2014 ! And it's really a good idea to go back on this track i'm thinking, always good to have a landrace, or landrace hybrids, between all the modern hybrid there 's today, where at a point we can get lost with; too many crosses, to many copies, too many many. Let's go back to primitives. Peace
  21. Thanks man, i believe a lot in this new project, and i'm not alone ! Many of us know that it is hard to stabilize Original landrace, and trying to grow them in a new climate, or in a box... The best of this experience is to show on documentary where do come from all of those plants we are going to grow and smoke !! This is the best of this trip i think, discovering the country, or re discovering !... We are all waiting to see the result of those expeditions, for real ! There is a lot of seeds of durban or libanon already, but never has been done, with a video to prove in which field it comes from !! =) I just remind the face of franco at the end of the morroco expedition, smelling the "cream" like he said. " Damn this is butter, this is like sticky sticky sticky sticky stuff, creamy creamy already", cross of pakistan and morrocan plant they guess, and even this is fabulous to watch ! Real deal ! And even new ideas can come from this, even bring pakistan phenotype, or even trying a breeding between those two. Peace. Ps: Hopefully, something is going to come before Xmas, would be a nice gift! I'm personally waiting a lot for a north india and a morrocan.
  22. Hoops man, sorry for the cops, shit happens (cheese are not the most discreet while growing it or smoking it) ! I just have a simple question : There is 2 cheese in the catalog, the Cheese, and the Exodus cheese, and both rewarded at the spannabis Outdoor, and Indoor, and other Cups Award. What is the difference between both? Cheese, is a reworked one with add of Afghan, and the Exodus cheese, is the Original created by Exodus and kept since the 90's? One is coming from Big Buddha and the other one from Exodus? Or , i'm wrong?? Nice grow man !
  23. Wow, the strawberry could be one on my wish list, the one i'm the most interested with, and the flowerbomb too. But i'm thinking about the strawberry because it could remind me switzerland of '98, the Golden swiss period, when there was a possible way of Legalisation, when Cannabioland (Valchanvre) was still alive with his 3 or 4 strains, ect. Strawberry was a myth in switzerland at this period, such as bubblegum in Indiana, or Orange bud in California. A living myth, because she's still alive. Could there be a SMOKE REPORT, interesting for all the people interested in this precious and delicate strain. Some say that the strawberry cough or the"fraise" aka white strawberry skunk is very similar or even parents, is that true?!! Erbeer or strawberry cough could it be the same one and unique plant, or one has been reworked, such have seen that this one has 50% ind/sat, and the over one 20%/80% in/sat??! Both reputed to have a happy clear calming high, with a marvelous taste, ideal for fruity taste fans who are looking for a functionable weed and motivating during the day, or whenever! And when i've seen the pollen made of this plant, what a wonderful tasty hash it must be...! Enjoy the fruit of your work now. PEACE! Ps: After research, White Strawberry Skunk comes from an Erdbeer while the Strawberry Cough comes from a selection of Blue Dream by Kushman it seems.

  25. The problem is always the same : renting to work, working to rent. In many case, working could not be difficult, in Amsterdam or any other big cities.More there is shops and restaurants, more offers there is.The usual target looking for a job are the bars, pubs, coffees, restaurants, youth hostels or hotels, campings (where maybe you can sleep as well), something close to the tourism, because speaking other langages more than just dutch, could be a nice bonus(but dutch are also very good to speak english, german, french, italian or others). In the tourism, there is a lot of work you can do without speaking dutch.Concerning the rent, there is many options, renting just a room, or a flat, or a house, but more outside of Amsterdam or other cities you go, and more it's cheap! Holland is a small country, and taking 30/45mins in train is not so much to go to work, if you live in a village or a small town. This is my point of view. Good luck !! Ps: Could be nice also to know, how does a coffee shop to hire his staff?!

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
