Ketama Gold =) One of the most popular in Europe i guess. First taste of the finest hash of course, with a bit of spice type safran, with a quiet and relaxing stone effect which doesn't long too much, but enjoyable feeling no doubt, and functionable.

Best strain reminding orange trees surounding all around with mountains to the background : ORANGE BUD in California '95. Best actual strain ever for the taste and the effect, BLUEBERRY, the one which always give a nice happy high with this amazing feel good effect, with a fresh juice taste of blue fruit going also on a tropical fruit side, kind of fruity and acid a bit, which is followed by a nice peacefull stone always. Best taste ever BUBBLELICIOUS. Best "reminder", best "taste-effect", best "taste" i ever smoked. Number one, i would say BLUEBERRY.

Nice one, thanks for sharing. what an aride place to grow, have you seen , there is no irrigation at all, those plants resist, no doubt. Tough plant the libanon.

Just dreaming about those mountains. And this cream, this cream... So good walking mountains all around, such a nice feeling you must have experienced at this moment. I know it's no the same atmosphere, but why not growing this kind of landrace back home, under lamp or outside, and making this cream at home, your own, made with passion and patience !! Take some beans next time, from every place you find, and send them back home =). To experience this feeling at the beach or other montains for exemple, or going to a concert =) and reminding you the time when you were walking in those mountains, or drinking a chai in pushkar =) Peace.

I'm a bit confused reading this: "The Strain Hunters Seed Bank is also a library. The majority of the material might never be released. They will however always be perserved to the best of our ability."
-
I agree . Keep it simple is the key of the success, to give the access to everyone!

"Shine bright like a diamond" ! =) Does someone remember what did she ordered?

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G ! Is the first word which come watching these beautiful pictures. So the documentary has been on 3 different sites? Because the first one field, that was on youtube, make think a climate such as California, Spain, Morocco... All the strains of the catalogue have been grown they said , isn't it ?... The powder feeding is the same simple system such as tabs. Really good indoor, and perfect outdoor or for guerilla grow if it doesn't rain too much, otherwise, it would otherfeed all. The second greenhouse, is well done has well. And finally the last one, is such as professional, like Usa, Canada, Switzerland. I think after those pictures, i wanna roll one. Thanks for sharing. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G !

Egypt should be also on the top list , such as China... There is such an history since 3000 or 5000 years old, or even longer relating to the plant. And imagine the landscape, temples and everything on the film! I just see the picture.

Concerning the laos strain, if they have still mothers , they should release it =) and in regular as well. Concerning Burma, there is the green zone, where tourist can go, red zone, where you enter with a permit, and finally the black zone, impossible to enter, where diamonds or something else is probably hidden. Well, Burma should be tough to travel and record anything. I think i've already seen some burmese kush from canadians breeders or something like this ?! Burma would be great, but between dreams and reality...

Cambodia could be a big deal, and really easy such as they let tourist eating happy pizza (instead of origano, they put a bit of herb), and grass milkshake or smoothie, such as in sihanoukville. Cambodia is really mind open with cannabis, as long as the government and authorities take a little part in the pocket. Concerning the culture, should have some fields, in the jungle or around the makong, but maybe less impressive than india or morroco. It could be a triple destination, golden triangle like Thai/laos/cambodia (three in one). Of course, knowing that Arjan has already walk all over the area, he never has been as a Reporter yet =). Long life to the King, and to the Team ! =) Peace.

I agree that the indian expedition is uncomplet, and should have in fact 3 parts =) : 1/North parvati, ect . Done 2/ Kashmir 3/ Karnataka, Kerala. Just a point of view =)

Namaste!! Respect for the picture, what a tree! Nepal should be also on the top of the list, for the top of the World grow! Such a nice vigorous resistant plant with a real blissful effect... the cream is really nice, but there's also a nice pollen such as kasmir or 00. Such a perfect destination for a docmentary with such friendly people. And such beautiful landscape too. Nepal rocks!! Ps: What happened to the Himalaya Gold? Peace.

Really nice destination indeed in order to show where does one of the most tool breeding strain comes from, with the north mountain close to chang mai / pai area, or to the beach of Ko chang island or more deeep south.Such a dangerous law in the "country of the smile", and such a nice smoke to have after swimming during the sunset, lying on the hamac =) ZZzzzzz. Could be nice to get some skuff from a thai plant =) PEACE.

100 % Ok for this destination as a documentary first, and in order to taste this Legendary strain !!
-
Hawaiian lost valley strain should be on the destination list for sure !! Such a legend strain! But not an easy thing to hunt for, such as, it's a state of USA, and so much inbreeding with other strains such as OG, trainweck, bubba must have been already done!! (always the same problem to find the Original which has been IBL with herself dozen of years!).
-
And on the way, crossing by Nimbin !! ... and creating a cross with an Australian Original strain( is there one ???) and the great white shark , relationating about all of those shark attack at Byron Bay, 70 kms from there. I've heard that there was really nice smoke in Tasmania, landrace or not... Hello to Australia !! Ps: What about New Zealand ? ...

Such an ironic situation, that some coffees close in Holland, and some open in Washington state and Colorado, and Alaska, and Oregon, while Uruguay is thinking about how regulating is his own country, coffees or Social Club (which result in one way to a Coffee shop), but until you're allowed to cultivate for your own consumtion, everything is ok. The "problem" with the Netherlands, is that it's the ONLY one who had the guts to regulate the market of the cannabis in order to separate soft and hard drugs, and then to rise the quality (and the price tho). Concidering that it is prohibiden in almost all country around, and strongly such as France or Greece, mass of smokers come to Holland disturbing a bit these quiet villages and towns. The trouble is here, but could be the same if England was the ONLY country in Europe where it could be possible to enter in a Pub, or buying beers and liquors at the supermarket. Spain is ok at this time, concidering the fact that smoking is legal in private places, such as in portugal or switzerland, ect... and planting too. Could we do a "resume" of places where it is still allowed smoking flowers for tourist without passweed? Amsterdam, den Haag, Groningen, Utrecht, ect ?... whitout inciting people to go there ? =) I've got to say that we are all a bit lost with so many changes. Ps: An idea for the netherlands concerning the Mass smoking "tsunami", could be to authorize sending ,via postmail, small amount of products, in order to filtrate tourists in the country. The one who want to visit the country, discover the food culture, traditions ect would still travel there, and people who just want to go there to smoke and buy, would instead, receipt this at home, saving on the fly/train/hostel cost. =) What do you think? PEACE

This destination, Uruguay, could be a top destination for the National Geographic hunters team, until maybe they change their mind when the actual president finish his mandat, and that other politicians change their mind on the subject. Unfortunatly, Uruguay is a small country, and the weed smoked there is 80/85 % coming from Paraguay, or Brazil. So i'm thinking of first, landing there to see what's going on, but then going to Paraguay to see there the biggest producer of south america, such as morocco for Europa, or Mexico for the north latin America, hike his field (with the help of the army), and what kind of treasure original landrace do they have. Paraguay should come in the "pack" Uruguay =).

Good afternoon to everyone ! This is exactly why we chose to subscribe to this forum, in order to see these kind of picturess, that can remind us what we've seen once, or make us discovering it! I'm waiting about this morrocan landrace. I've already grown one, which was semi-auto it's called, one which flower in 45/50 days, but which grow for 3 months even changing the photoperiod at 12/12... A very good strain at the final, with this typical smell of spice and hash, recording the real pure 00, growing very well outdoor, even under unfavorable conditions, poor soil, poor irrigation; the only problem with the semi-auto grows in a box, under lamp, is that it become impossible to let it grow only 3 weeks/one month in order to make it flo faster that it should be in the nature. I wander if the strain you brung, flower when you want, without having to wait 3 month of grow?! Nice Original cross could be made from this one: Malana x morocco , pakistan x morocco, colombia x morocco. Ect, you know it =) Always nice to watch your documentaries and expeditions, and your pictures. Looks like now, arjan/franco/simon, and the rest of the team, you became reporter !! Such a wonderful life, isn't it , he he ! Such a GOOD Karma! Peace

Good Morning, indeed there are already nice strains, such as the Thai, the exodus (English cultivar but found in a packet of Sensi S), the strawberry, the white shark (brazil/south india)... But where is the Himalayan Gold(India/Nepal)? Is the Himalaya strain out, to let enter some new fresh beans from the expedition, or is the strain lost ?... i really worry about this ONE (BoomShiva!). I guess what people are looking from this strain hunters seed bank, are real original varieties without any hybrids, except that original strain can take as long as 75/1OO days to flower. This is the problem to stabilize it. Such as some asian strain or equatorial. It's why it take so much time to wait for the result. The landrace can be perfectly done resulting in a kick ass weed, but with a reaaaally long time flowering, and strech x4, too much for a box, and too long for outdoor rough climate. Real original strain such as Marroco, North india, could be easier to start with. Be some new evolution could be welcomed as well, such as : shiva/north india and OG/morroco (OGkief) =) There is 1000.000.000 possibilities. The thing is, are the strain hunters going to give original landrace stabilized or hybrid landrace to improve the production and the flowering time speed, that is the questions! Keep up your expeditions, to show to the world what is about the traditions in these countries, and where does come from the original flower, in his original climate! PEACE

Such a wonderful world of strains =)
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
