I'm considering an indoor grow in my apartment and was reading up on reducing marijuana odor with carbon filters. None of the posts I read ever get brand-specific though. Was hoping someone could hook me up with the name of a reputable brand. I'm starting small, just a plant or two to help me figure out what I'm doing.

For anyone who's tried both: do you feel like the Rosin Tech method of extraction produces similar results as classic BHO extraction? I'm clumsy AF so I stay away from extraction - don't need an idiot like me giving extraction a bad name by blowing myself up LOL! But Rosin pressing seems pretty safe but I'm just wondering if the results are worth it.
-
Tried it and it worked like a charm. Gave some to my girlfriend's mom (she's the biggest stoner I know) and she gave it her seal of approval!
-
Nice! Going to give it a try this weekend!

Rad - I was actually just going to use some parchment paper and a hair straightener as a test before I invested in a press or anything like that.

I never thought I'd be saying "I'm glad they didn't legalize weed" but I am actually pretty impressed that the voters in Ohio shot down Issue 3. Leafly does a pretty tight job of breaking down why Issue 3 was a bit messed up. Mixing fat cats in suits with cannabis legalization may seem like a necessary evil, but there's still a limit!

Please, please, please let this actually mean that clown Rosenberg will get booted from the DEA: http://extract.suntimes.com/news/10/153/8317/100k-medical-marijuana-supporters-demand-dea-chief-chuck-rosenberg-resignation/ I know they'll replace him with someone equally repulsive but I'd love to see the look on his smug face if they showed him the door.
-
Yeah, a lot of people say voting doesn't matter, but I think it can be used to send a message to the suits. Glad Ohio told them where to stick their monopoly!
-
This is a pretty ballsy move if I do say so myself. The Hell's Angels showed up to Parliament in the thousands in Canada, pissed off about Trudeau's plans to legalize weed. The reason? They're pissed that it's going to put them out of work in the organized crime business! LOL Canada and Ohio are by far the most interesting circuses to watch these days! At least as far as weed goes. Otherwise, Florida is always the freakshow.
-
Gargh, it turned out to be a hoax. Oh well, there's a lesson for me to not believe everything I read.

Dude 60% support in the United States. This isn't a political candidate where campaigning slides favor back and forth. This is a solid, science-based plant that is definitely going legal. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2015/10/21/poll-says-marijuana-legalization-support-nears-60/74334808/

He's gone - the PM's Trudeau now. And supposedly he's all about legalization.
-
I feel like legalization anywhere is a victory for the world. I'm super psyched about Canada electing a pro-weed prime minister. I'm hoping within my lifetime, people look back at the modern perspective on marijuana as the dark ages!

Some of Florida's finest nabbed 68 plants that were growing near a boat ramp in a bunch of mangroves. Ok, the police are pricing this crop at $114,500 but that's a bit lofty considering these were plants growing beside a boast ramp leading into saltwater. Smells like ditch weed to me....
-
LOL I misread "crack baby" as "creek baby" because I can't stop thinking about ditch weed with this story LOL!
-
Beautiful art for that poster! It looks classy - nice work!

That's pretty impressive (and generous) of the professors. I seriously don't mean this with any cynicism, but I wonder what their main motive was in devoting so much free time/energy to the cause. Are they just good people? Tired of the criminal element supplying the black market?

I'm pretty new to this so forgive me if this is a bit of a "green" question, but when would you say it's too late to begin an outdoor grow? I've thought August for some reason but I've heard some people say September.
-
Hey, man, obviously I don't know as much as the seasoned growers on this board but since Spain is roughly parallel to New England, you could look up when people think the cut off for growing in New York is or something like that. I think it all has to do with your distance from the equator (and what hemisphere you're in) so you could probably compare your optimum outdoor grow times situation to someone in New York. Again, this is just an assumption.

I'm just getting into growing (for personal use only) but reading stories about the lack of pesticide control is really what makes it imperative for me. I respect that Colorado is trying to keep this in check, but it's still a bit like the wild, wild West out there and I imagine it will be for at least a little while longer. The only way you know what you're smoking is to grow your own, organically.
-
Yeah, it's a different story here in the states. They're trying to regulate pesticides but recent tests showed chemicals in dispensary weed (many of which were deemed illegal) that weren't accounted for on the labels. It's still the wild, wild west over here.

Hi, guys, big time noob question here but I'm thinking of making my first batch of brownies but I don't want to get totally wrecked if I have one. I've had brownies that friends made and they totally obliterated me. Instead, I'd like something a bit more mellow and fun. Is there like a magic ratio I could follow for something like this or is it down to trial and error?
-
Thanks, man! Awesome plan with different ratios in different muffins. That's definitely the route I'll go. I can see how nodding off might be mistaken for heroin use! LOL I'll try to be frugal with my ratios to start - thanks for the idea!

This seems like a story that would come out of Florida but it's actually from Texas, the state we're constantly reminded not to mess with. Apparently, some rangers and cops went to arrest the people behind an illegal acre of weed but they accidentally ran into a group of Bigfoot hunters that allowed the growers to get away! Insanity.
-
Yeah, no Bigfoot, no arrests. A lot of sad hunters that day!
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
