  1. Hello. I'm JP Sisson. I am a legal cannabis grower in Oregon USA. I have been growing for 24 years and only 2 of those years have been legal. I grow organically and I cross genetics. What you are seeing is a Malawi / northern lights cross with 6 weeks left in flower. The result of 2 years work.
  2. I am flowering my clones just after they produce root balls.

I'm talking 6 to 8 inches tall. I'm getting single pad leafs and vine branching out of these little clones.

My hope is to smaller plants with higher THC and CBD counts.

I am always growing these 6 and 7 foot monsters. The flowers are great but not as dence as I would like.

Over all, I'm looking for dence buds, shorter flowering time and a explosive production.

  3. OK. I will be honest here. For my taste, my flowers were everything that I hoped for. But it is cured now and I'm going to say that it tastes like roses. It smells heavy sativa with roses. Lol It hits hard and lingers in your lungs with a perfume aftertaste. But o boy, it's a heavy thinking bud! Relaxing, but not a ride on the sofa. I painted for 3 hours and found that I didn't like anyone in my life because they were not rational in my eyes. I had to put myself in check quickly because I was high as a kite. After about 20 minutes you get an incredible appetite. The smells are sweet earthy and Floral.
  4. I use a lot of wood ashes in my compost. It's extremely beneficial for sprouts or anything trying to take root. Early Native Americans used to burn whole fields because it made them more fertile the next spring.
  5. I found this add for a local dispensary. The name has been edited because I won't advertise for them. But I would like to try Laos luang.

    Current state of medicinal marijuana

Even though these indigenous strains are still being grown to preserve the legacy of these ancient and historic plants, most medical marijuana stores in Portland only carry a few landrace strains. While landrace strains certainly have their fans, the market for medicinal marijuana has grown to provide patients with a nearly endless variety of hybrid and indoor grown cannabis strains. This makes it difficult to find a large selection of pure landrace strains of medicinal cannabis.

Fortunately, (random place) is proud to offer three landrace strains for medical marijuana patients in Portland. Stop by one of our two locations to try our landrace strains, including:

    • 1989 Afghani / Private Reserve (From Afghanistan)
    • Laos Luang Prabang / Private Reserve (From Luang Prabang in North Laos)
    • Malawi / Private Reserve (From the Salima region of Malawi in Southeast Africa)

  7. I have read two articles that I'm interested in discussing.

The first one was a cold curing method that takes longer but retains most of the taste and potency.

The other article was about fighting mold spores on your marijuana flowers by lightly brushing them with an ultraviolet light.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

  8. Many years ago I was introduced to a small thin pathetic grass known as cannabis ruderalis. I knew mr. Squiggles for a long time. He was a crazy old pot grower from West Virginia who had come to the Pacific Northwest for one reason or another. A few years back I ran into mr. Squiggles in the most unlikely of places. A beer festival in a college town in the middle of Oregon. Long story short, mr. Squiggles hands me a plant and he begs me to give it a chance. The only thing I could do with this plant was pollinate. It will not produce any recognizable terpenes, flowers or oder. However, the seeds that this plant yielded were interesting. I would seriously like to hear from anybody that has any experience, or has even heard stories about cannabis ruderalis. Mr. Squiggles disappeared along with the seeds that this plant produced.
  9. I took this picture with my phone.

The resin production is definitely nice but she has a couple more weeks at least, until Harvest.

When the Peaks start to droop down like they were melting, right after they take on an amber color, before they look milky. I cannot stress enough, do not let your resin glands get milky!

  10. Mid to southern Oregon has not only some of the best tasting, but most potent marijuana I have ever found. With the resent legalization of recreational marijuana in most US states we have seen old-school growers pop up out of the mountains with flowers testing over 25 THC and 19 CBD. Now this is the most basic testing offered here but it is clear that what they have been working on is high grade organic marijuana. They grow for the love of growing. The most people here are waiting for the government to ruin this new legality by way of government-regulated mediation. But for now, it seems that the grass is infact greener in Oregon and people are living the dream..... for now.
  11. That is true. But to land races can be found in Oregon if you know where to look. For example, it's taken me eight years to locate 2 virgin land races. One was in Humboldt County and the other was on bly mountain. Whether these land races still exist to this day I have no idea. It's been 4 years since I've been to either of these locations and a lot can happen in 4 years so that information is almost useless. However if anyone has heard of pure land races being grown in Oregon, I would gladly scout it out for ghsc to see if there were any truth to it.
  12. So to observe the religious rights in Oregon, marijuana can not be sold on Sunday.

In early spring, most Oregonians are tending to the soil or greenhouses to prepare them for planting the first crop of the season.

By now, what bud they did have from the last crop is under 6.5g.

It's Sunday morning in early April at the foot of the Cascad mountain range. A coffee and a fat tasty blunt on the lawn sounds good. Damn good!  Infact, it's you right now and not even the police can say anything to you.  But.... this is the issue.

Do you role that bad boy up and smoke all your weed at once?

Or smoke a bowl now and 1 later?

You can buy more bud tomorrow at 9:00 am.

If you are a good grower you will know how to fix this.

Hash my friend. Say it with me now, Hashes!!!!

The worst thing about Sunday in Oregon is smoking hash but the best thing about Sunday in Oregon is smoking hash.  Lol

  13. I had a question about curing methods but I smoked a joint and now I can't get Boogie Nights out of my head.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
