Learning about cannabis

Hey jose! I've been contacting as many companies as i can in the legal states, but haven't been successful in regards to actually working with them. I really have two questions right now. Do you recommend a specific company in the states that i should contact? and while i'm not able to grow cannabis right now, i would like to know what plant grows similar to the cannabis plant. That way i can gain some type of experience. Cheers!

What's up strain hunters forum? my name's Evan. i'm a college kid from south florida graduating in May of 2017 eager to start my life as a grower in the cannabis industry. Only problem is... i live in a state where it's illegal to grow marijuana, so i have no experience with growing the stunning plant. I'm doing everything i can to get started with my journey and i hope i can meet some great, like minded people here on this forum. So with that being said, it's nice to meet you! where are you from?

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
