  1. Hi folks, I keep on hearing all the time... "Making Cannabis will not stop the black market!" And I will agree almost 100% with that saying, the reason why? Let me explain myself briefly... in almost all of the documentary I am watching over time they all say the same things... - "We already have the alcohol problem!... adding Marijuana to it I don't think it's a good idea" - "Legalise it will make it more available to kids!" - "Legalise it and authorised its growth will not stop the black market!" - "We have to regulate the amount of THC in the product sold!" well the cost price of growing Cannabis per gram is actually something like 0.50€ and I am talking indoor grow opp not outdoor, the growers are actually doing about 9€/gram profit. The reason why the black market will still thrive is because of the price of the product being still high, 10-15-20$ for a gram of weed is really taking the piss... so let's imagine now the gram of weed would be sold like 5$, still making a margin. The fact that they may want to regulate the amount of THC in the product sold is a big mistake and will keep the black market working on the side... how can you ask to sell only Corona in the market when you have all these more potent and tastier drinks out there... You will then create a black market, it's logic. Legalise it makes it more available to kids, really!? Kids have access to it whether you like it or not, this is down to education more then prohibition... When I was 10, I never even thought of drinking a beer or any alcohol, I thought it was disgusting, nevermind smoking!! why would you think that smoking pot would be more attractive or tastier when you are 10!? Of course there is kids of 10 year old smoking pot but again this is down to education! Don't leave your kids of 10 unattended... simple. So this all Legalisation/Prohibition from the Federal Gov is a big game if you want my opinion... yes in what, 26 states it is decriminalised or legalised for Medical purposes but at the Federal level it is still forbidden so International they are still on the same side as they started long back wit Harry Anslinger outlawing Cannabis thourought the World but locally they allow it which mean that at the end even at the Federal level they are beneficiary of the Cannabis Trade from the State level... So it's really ironic and hypocrit. Now I am not really angry about it, just making an obvservation and I guess if it's really the way it is, we'll we are not ready to see the end of prohibition, anywhere in the near future... That's for the rest of the world ? That said, it never stopped anyone from smoking, growing or even selling it but it's just a right pain where the sun don't shine. And the fact that we really have to go down the road of Medically acceptance to be allowed to use a plant that we used for thousands years Prior... it's really funny but so typically human... There is no debate whatsoever whether it is a medicinal plant or a recreational plant or should it be authorised or banned... The same people don't ask themselves the same question about Federally controlled substances such as tobacco and alcohol... which are proven to kill a fair amount of the population and instead of outlawing that product known to kill by everyone... we just increase tax on it just to make sure you make the most of it... lol So many things to say about the subject. So I don't know what you think but it's a pretty mess and I think it will remain a mess for a long while... If anything should happens towards the end of prohibition, it has to start with the States as they started this mascarade long time back, once they change the rest of the world will follow... So we are all with you and behind you to finally end this big joke! cheers.
  2. Here on a side note I am starting my veggie garden, it's more an experiment at this stage as I never thought of doing one. Again the growing location is not the best as it have a poor sunlight exposure but I'll try my best anyway. Initial raised bed: I decided to go super cheap on this one. All the material used is salvaged aside from one Bamboo 6m length I purchase for one of the raised bed (1.5$) the rest was left over stuff and my miraculous compost soil I made. I have right now two raised bed of about 1.5m long each on 60cm width on 50cm in height, filled up with freshly made compost. The starting idea was to grow some tomato plants to see what kind of harvest I could expect and it turned out a week later I end up with two raised bed and a DIY pot to plant the different variety I have in mind lol. Anyway so i have on the go at the moment 12 tomato seedlings Chilli seeds showed first root today so that should come out in the coming days I covered with a thin layer of soil. Sweet pepper (green colour)I have garlic potato, I bought 1kg of small size potato and decided to plant them the lazy method way which consist of burying the potato 3/4 in the soil and cover with 2cm of hay. They should roots and sprout through the hay without problem as it is strong enough to go through. Let's see if this method work out in South East Asia and if it work I am curious how many KG will I harvest from that initial 1st KG purchased. I build up a sort of trellis to support beans and I am on the look for seeds on the market, not as easy as you think lol. I am looking for carrot seeds, salad seeds. So let's see how this project develop from here. I have the intention to have a vegetable grow operation in the Philippines within a couple of years so let's see how the premise start. Again it's a no budget project as I am avoiding by all means spending a penny on it, water is supplied by a well So water cost 0, next... ? I will have to spend a little bit on seeds and Epsom salt if I find that, other then that. No money involved. cheers.
  3. I have no idea but it was her true colour!
  4. Now that I have done this for veggie garden, I don't see why I should not try to make similar to grow out precious! It's dead cheap for sure and will be strong enough to be there through at least 1 entire grow. Once done with your first grow and maybe you want to re arrange the set up, just wet the pot, break it and reuse same to remind another pot in another location... ok it's time consuming and tiring but really if you are ready to put a bit of effort to have lifetime availability of raised bed, seriously I'll probably end up never buying a flower pot ever again!! ? That said, I am wishing you all plenty of good stuff for this new year 2017. Stay safe!
  5. I am going to leave the bamboo showing on the side of the raised bed as I might just attach strings to them and link with the stake that will support the plants. Tomorrow I am on the new potatoes raised bed in a beautiful sun shining location. I have no idea why I didn't start all of this in the right place directly. Ah as we say in French :" faire, défaire et refaire c'est toujours du travail" ask google translate ?
  6. I have done some progress on my Tomatoe Cob buildIng raised bed... I will need one more batch to finish it up. It's a veggie raised bed so it won't necessarily need very nice smooth finishing anyway.
  7. Cheers buddy, it's a Lotus Flower actually.
  8. Timing is everything!
  9. Morning from my side Guys...Got a nice surprise from my Koi pond this morning that I wanted to share with you. have a beautiful day, morning, afternoon, evening or night wherever you might be!
  10. On to some Cob building for my tomatoe raised bed. It's a bit more advance then this by the end of the day. Hopefully I can complete it by the end o the day tomorrow. I am re-thinking what I have done with my compost pile adding layer of soil in between might actual makes it impossible to turn over in time... we'll see.
  11. Not sure if there is already a topic like so, I guess so but didn't find it yet, so I start this one ☺️
  12. Phase one of new raised bed completed with the transplant of my tomatoes. midway before transplanting. Phase 2 is in the wheel barrow, I am softening the clay ?. Phase 2 for tomorrow most probably. And yes I know it still look rough lol... but everything comes to those who can wait lol
  13. Just received 4 cubic meter of soil today that I am planning to use for my compost and my veggies garden area. this is the type of soil I have to deal with and actually this one is way better then my garden soil lol... composed mainly of clay, sand and some other soil but mainly clay. so I decided to tripple my composting area, I harvest around 800l of good soil in 6 months with this little spot here. 4m by 2.5m original compost area. I need more compost! lol. Anyway I used that dirt I receive to mix in the pile in layer manner... and I kept layers quite thin to accelerate the process I hope. First a layer of dirt then a layer of compost and so on till reached desire height. I hope within 3-4 months to be able to collect some VIP growing medium. Humidity level in my area never goes below 60% lol and more often in the 80% so the process is accelerated as well.
  14. But of progress this morning... I grant you it's still looking W?T??⚡️⁉️?F!? State. Keep in mind I am working the Stoneage style with an axe and a hammer... no power cutting tools... that's why I have difficulties to make nice regular stripes so I give up and just made stripes... it's mainly for the skeleton. And won't be visible at the end anyway. once everything is tied up it will be ready for Phase 2 Cob buildIng.
  15. So here it goes, construction of new raised bed using a different but never the less on the cheap method. Phase 1: Now I know what you thinking... W⚡️??T?⁉️?F!? Lol but wait... it's phase one only.
  16. Fresh from Capital! Good old South East Asian Sativa Landrace.
  17. Got my Bamboo delivery this afternoon so I'll be busy building 2 or 3 new raised bed but this time around I will a all different approach which will be a mixt between bamboo and Cob building. cost of my raised bed in bamboo: 10$, I will define the dimension tomorrow.
  18. Just chilling about in my refined compost area... lol why not hey... I placed him back as he surely do some good to my pile judging by the dirt he have in his belly...
  19. Coming back quickly to my potatoe plants, they seem to be doing fine. Although I do not have a great leaves development... like the one example below. I am guessing is due to the weather condition and the sunlight exposure. Big changes is ment to happen to my garden as I am planning to build a brand new raised bed. A mix between bamboo and Cob building, the location is way better as it receive direct sunlight most of the day. So that is something to look forward to.
  20. I met a new garden buddy today ? It's a frog eating snake so I let it be... quite a nice size though... but it's not the first time, I have encounter about 6 different types of snakes in my garden only ?. The other day I was to open the main gate to get the car out and look what I found hanging to dry lol I mean seriously!? Lol The snake was disturbed by my desire to go out so he let the frog go and both went their ways... Another day my maid call me and say "I think there is a snake in the laundry room...!" I went to check and no reason I remember a stuff toy that my son use to have that ressembles a big gecko and it was stuff with little beeds anyway I am almost about to reach it when I suddenly stop like not joking maybe 15 cm from his head... Now we don't joke anymore here... This is called a Pit Viper and not only dangerous but simply deadly... ? Now luckily for me it has snatched something during the night, most probably a Teke which is a giant Gecko of between 15 and 30-40 for the bigger ones, has the snake is swollen in the Middle. But you also have funky looking snakes when night comes and with the flash of my phone, reflections appear. and cool dudes like this one! Curious to see what will I encounter next... I love to live in the tropics... always did. I use to have a Python back in the days when i was living in Madagascar, Love snakes!
  21. Funny how things grow sometimes... here an example of two tomatoe plant that were planted in the same exact moment and were of the exact same size as the one on the right... and see now the difference? Same amount of water, same soil and same light exposure... go figure!
  22. Yes we do have gigantic worms here buddy basically like little snakes, around 30cm long if some not more... and the casting gets pretty huge and easy to spot in my yard. It sounded funny I grant that but that's what I actually do ?

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
