Big update guys everything seems to be getting a bit too big my StarDawg has ran over an is going to take 70ish days was only planning for 63ish. Its all leaning should make it just fine to day 70 or at least I hope it will knew I should have made a damn net. Here's a few pics @ day 62. Candy Kush is day 30 and now supporting some of the weight of the StarDawg. As it is I’m running out of space so in a desperate attempt to slow everything down all the Bubblelicious is getting stripped and taking a single clone from each one. I did strip a few before I took any pictures (well before I decided what I was going to do with them all lol). And below are just my notes on each one + quick pic. So they have been stripped up to between the 3rd and 5th node and then topped, I know it looks brutal and will take a couple of weeks to come back to life but I need them to stay vegging for the time being so it works for me. Group Shot Before #01 Does have a smell not what I would call bubblegum , average root system, average hight. average stem thickness #02 Smells not very strong, average/good root system, above average height, thick stem, think it got a bit bent up when moving them all around but not to worry once the top has been taken they should all be similar height once again. #03 No smell, poor root system, poor height, skinny stem, Overall not very impress with this one so no clone has been taken besides it was already too small if I took a clone it would never have caught up but based on vigour I only want to keep the best ones and will be eliminating various plant throughout veg. All of them will get flowered but if I can see it isn’t doing to well I am not going to keep a clone if I make a mistake I can always reveg if I find something interesting and didn’t take a clone. #04 Nice sweet smell not quite bubblegum just yet though, excellent root system, above average height, very thick stem #05 Smell quite strong quite sweet, excellent root system, above average height, nice thick stem #06 very strong sweet smell, average/good root system, above average height, thick stem red/pick/purple markings on stem #07 no smell, poor root system hope it can catch up later on, below average height, skinny stem, no cutting taken as it was too small #08 this is average all round smell roots height all average clone still taken just incase #09 another average plant all-round its just average clone still taken just incase, scratch that looks like I might have got a bit over zealous with the razor not sure if this one will recover very little left on it but we will see. #10 nice smell something a bit different about this one but still sweet, good root system, above average height, nice thick stem, extensive side branching #11 overall just average slight smell, poor/average roots average height, average stem thickness clone taken #12 I’m amazed its still alive lol nothing much to say about this one #13 NO PIC below average no cut taken #14 NO PiC average height average roots slightly above average stem the thing that got me with this one is the smell its so sweet it almost smells like bubblegum but not quite clone taken might have taken too much but i have a clone and thats what matters today and getting them to a more manageable size #15 average sweet smell, roots are above average height is above average and stem is nice and thick clone taken #16 NO PIC average sweet smell, very good root system, above average height, very thick stem, clone taken #17 NO PIC above average smell , great roots, above average height, very thick stem , clone taken #18 sweet smell, great roots, above average height, nice thick stem , clone taken #19 sweet smell, great roots 2nd tallest, thick stem, and extensive side branching clone taken #20 NO PIC average smell, average roots, below average height thick stem no side branching clone taken #21 nice sweet smell., good roots, average height, thick stem, clone taken #22 nice sweet smell average roots average height average/thick stem clone taken #23 nice sweet smell good roots above average height nice thick stem clone taken #24 nice sweet smell average roots above average height nice thick stem clone taken #25 nice sweet smell good roots above average height very thick stem clone taken #26 real sweet smell excellent roots biggest plant out of them all real thick stem clone taken #27 nice sweet smell good roots above average height nice thick stem clone taken #28 nice sweet smell average roots average height nice thick stem clone taken #29 nice sweet smell good roots above average height nice thick stem clone taken #30 nice sweet smell great roots above average height nice thick stem clone taken Group Shot After

Since I am all caught up with the Bubblelicious & StarDawg figured might as well take a few pics of my 4 big girls which have been vegging for what seem like forever. Their conditions have been shitty at times and I had to borrow one of the LED’s for the Bubblelicious so growth is slow but thats fine still got a few weeks before I can switch them to flower. Still not sure if I will be flowering out the Bubblelicious at the same time it all depends on space once the StarDawg is down. Anyway heres a few pics. Now these where mothers that I have been keeping the StarDawg in the 5L pot I will be keeping I think but they other 4 are going to be used with some pollen from any male Bubblelicious I find to makes some seeds. This will be my first time making seeds so if anyone has any advice be sure to let me know.

So heres a few pics of the StarDawg @ day 54 must say I think they are going pretty good considering they are only in 5L pots. Still confused why some have been affected and most haven’t but it is what it is. I know I said there was one in a hemp that was also affected but the extent seems to be just a single bud site lower down it never spread on the hemp side on the pot side its 2 or maybe 3 plants that have been effected but anyway heres a few pic. First pic is the single bud site in the hemp that was affected.

Been a real busy day so I’ll make it quick did take pics of everything after hours of cutting bottles and repotting I just didn’t have it in me. After seeing how everything is going might even flower out in these 2L bottles not sure will have to see how much space I have with the 4 big ones that have been vegging for what feels like forever. We are now switched over to the GLR using a mars hydro 300. Anyway guys I’m done for the night so heres a few pics.

Well this post is more of a problem solving post rather than an update but I will post a short update at the end of the post. The first bit of the post is all about the StarDawg. So A couple of days ago I noticed 3 different plants 1 in hempy the other 2 in pots with some yellowing on the sugar leaf. I have had a close look and I don’t think its a nutrient problem doesn’t really look like burn up close. I figured it could be a deficiency but again the plants in question look pretty healthy. Now I’m waiting on a new microscope I managed to break my old one when I wanted to use it to check these so can’t say too much about how close they are to finishing but they are around day 50 apparently finished in 57 but I planned on leaving mine till 64ish. Another thing these are all clones from the same mother so if one had a deficiency or nute problem I would have expected to see it in all of them, same thing with if its just the plant getting ready to finish I would expect them all to follow in the next day or so but so far its only affected a small proportion. Interested if anyone has any theories or knows what this is I can’t for the life or me think of what it could be, thats not to say I’m worried as the plants overall health looks good to me and they are nearing the end even if its a problem it’s way too late in the game to even attempt to fix it. So back to the Bubblelicious, they are desperate to be repotted but still waiting on dirt should be with me soon and will be repotting straight away. I switched to the GLR light schedule a couple of days ago, trying to control the growth rate as I’m running out of space real fast. Most seem real vigorous and they are fighting for space the bigger ones are pushing the smaller ones out of the way, only the strongest will survive. Like I said just a quick update but heres a few pics anyway.

Well until a few days ago I had been feeding them all at the same time but we have a few greedy bitches that are drinking more than the rest. No 04 was one of the first to pop and it drinking me dry, not really sure when No 05 popped but again its drinking and No 16 is drinking a lot too. Now these are some of the biggest plants so far but the actual biggest one is No 06 but s/he doesn’t seem to be drinking much at all. I know some of you may find this a bit boring but it interests me how they have all had the same start in life and yet are all starting to show differences. They have all had the same amount of water yet some are drinking more, and this isn’t just related to size as No 06 is also one of the biggest yet didn’t need watering yet. The light has been at the same distance but some are taller than others Now I know its been a while since the last update mostly because I got lazy but partly because this is going to be a big update very picture heavy. Until now there wasn’t really too much to see but things are starting to take shape nicely now and starting to get an idea on the structure of each different plant. I currently don’t have enough dirt to repot should have it by next week so look forward to another big update when they get repotted. Once repotted I will give them a few more days on 20/4 before switching to the GLR light schedule so I can find my ladies and get them repotted once again. For the males well I have a few spare ladies that they can pollenate not sure which way I’m going with this may collect pollen and be specific or may just leave them in the same area and let nature take its course. So anyway here goes with the images and good luck if you don’t have fiber lol. As always a quick update on the StarDawg they where day 46 in the pics. Ha d couple with burnt tops so had to move the light a little oooops.

Yeah I can defiantly agree with that I used to check my ph and ec constantly now I think the batteries are dead in both lol but yeah I go by how my plants are looking and if things didnt look right to me checking ph and run off ph is a step I would take. I supposed checking the ec could be quite useful for learning what kind of ec your plants like and what kind of ec burns them.
-
Maybe the water quality is poor where you are but where I am the water quality is just fine and does not need phing, also since the OP stated he is using organic nutrient which ph up/down would you recommend as any chemical ph up/down would destroy the best part of his nutrients.
-
If the nutrients are all organic don't worry about the EC and if your in soil you shouldn't need to check your ph neither. You should know when they start needing nutrients as they will show signs of deficiency. According to the nutrient schedule it would be 1.5ml per L of water but you want to start them off on 1/2 or even 1/4 of that.

Hey dude, first off you are using the correct size pot, if you are running autos you do not want to re pot as this can cause undue stress. When running autos you pot in its final pot to avoid undue stress since you have no control over when it will start flowering. I have had plants recover just fine from shells getting stuck although some have been very slow to recover and normally I would advise to take a cutting at the earliest opportunity and replace but since this is an auto its not really an option. Give it a week and if your not happy with the growth pop another see and replace it. As for your nutrients without knowing which soil you are using its hard to say most soils hold enough nutrients for the first 14 days and often when re potting plants don't done use any nutrients for the 6 weeks if re potting every 2 weeks. Also when running autos my experience has always been they don't like as much nutrients as their photo counterparts so take it easy and go light increasing it slowly. I have never used the nutrient line you are using although with the information you have given and the schedule it looks like you will be needing PK13-14 also. I also think you may want to give autos a miss for a while until you at least get your head round the stages in a plants life cycle, the reason I say this is when you are new to growing you can pick up a basic schedule and follow it to the letter and end up with a reasonable grow. When running autos you can't really do that since you have no control over when she will start to flower and without knowing the plants cycle and being able to read the needs of your plant you may find it difficult to feed the correct nutrients at the time when the plant would find it most beneficial. The schedule you provided is a minimum 10 week schedule and you will find a lot of autos are finished long before this. Good Luck Dude

So a few days ago I had a massive nightmare, lets just say I was somewhat distracted when I was mixing the nutes. A couple of hours after watering I went to check on my ladies and noticed a tiny bit of clawing on the StarDawg and realised my mistake instantly (put grow in, instead of bloom). So off to the bathroom we went 6 hours later they where all flushed out, left them for the day with just water. Next day I mixed up the correct nutes with less distractions than last time round and it looks like things are recovering nicely. Incase anyone was wondering the 10L bucket at the front is a Candy Kush Auto that I threw in 12/12 from seed we will have to see how things go from here. So I also have a few other things in veg back let is DNA Genetics Sour Kosher have ran it multiple time and always stretches like the bitch she is lol, so I have tried to keep her as short as I possibly can. Back Right is Humboldt Seeds Green Crack came from a seedling that had topped itself at birth (got itself stuck in it’s shell and never really recovered) looked just like the bubblelicious that struggling and even after months of growth best thing I could do was take a clone that looks like it’s doing fine to me. Front left is Elemental Seeds Honey Banana, I have grown this before but it was in coco, it tasted like straight hash and smells like hash too hoping to bring out some different flavours this time round in dirt, did I forget to mention this this is STRONG like seriously strong will add a couple of bud shots if I can find them so much frost. Front right is Delicious Seeds Fruity Chronic Juice, I have ran this a few time before each time from seed and so far it has been extremely stable with all seeds producing plants that look like twins, the smoke has cold feeling to it you know like when you smoke menthol cigs and you get that cold feeling on inhale, well this doesn’t taste like menthol at all but you get that cold feeling every time you take a hit, not the strongest but great for making blunts. The others in the smaller pots where things I was keeping as mothers but I have since had a change of heart and decided I am going to pollenate them with some pollen from any male bubblelicious I may fine, So we have a StarDawg (will still be keeping my re vegged mother not pictured) THC Bomb was a decent smoke just not really my thing. Sour Kosher I have other seeds so not to bothered about preserving this one. If I do manage to get some decent flavours out of the honey banana I can always re veg. Now after all that back to the main event heres a few of the Bubblelicious, not much really happened with them just yet, few more cocktail sticks to support them till they get repotted also added a couple more 2x Sour Lemon OG + 2x Cherry OG both reg seeds got them on the attitude freebies figured why not throw them in while I’m at it. Any males I get I plan on labelling and freezing the pollen, then destroying the male.

Aight guys so I’ve moved the Bubblelicious to a new location for a while as I has having some issues with temperature (not with the Bubblelicious but with the StarDawg). I say issues as I like to keep my max temp around 27, the T5 was raising the room temp by 1-2 degrees the plants didn’t really seem to mind but 28 is the max I like them to hit with 27 making me happy. When I set up my extract I set it up based on 2x 315w and temps where rock solid @ 25 since adding another 315w I could really do with making some adjustments to my extract but that will have to wait a little while. Once the Bubblelicious has rooted out the cups they are in they will be moved to 100% soil hempy’s made from 2L bottles. Heres a few pics of the how the Bubblelicious are looking at the minute. We have one that seems to be struggling but we will give it time. I have had quite a few seedlings that have a hard time breaking the shell and they often end up stunted, if this does happen I will take a clone and run it at some point after the rest of the Bubblelicious as the clones from stunted mothers tend to do just fine. Ok back to business so today the StarDawg is on day 37 and its time for a haircut. So I went in lopped off a tiny bit from all the main tops to stop fox tailing and make the buds grow back down and fill out a bit more, I can’t say for sure if this does in fact increase yields but it defiantly gives you a more attractive bud at the end. And a quick pic of the StarDawg because why not lol.

Well just a quick update as not much has happened yet but 72 hours later and we have 30 out of 30, most popped up within 24 hours of the first ones, had a few stragglers that took 72 hours but 100% germination rate so who’s complaining. A few of them did need a little help removing the seed and the membrane holding the pod leave together.

Cheers dude and yes a pink pheno would be awsome!

Looks like #06 is the first one to pop its head up to say hello, followed closely by #04, then #23 and even though you can’t really see it in the pic #12 has just about broke the dirt to. T5 Is now on 24/7 for the next 2 weeks or so then will be moving them under a MarsHydro running the GLR to get them to show sex. In around 5-6 weeks I will have some space in the flower room as my Stardawg should be finished. I have no journal on the Stardawg, did want to get one going but it was all a bit rushed as I was running out of smoke. I also have a Sour Kosher, Green Crack, Honey Banana & Fruity Chronic Juice in veg. This is what I was supposed to be flowering now but they needed a bit more time. I was planning to flower them straight after the Stardawg is finished, depending on how many ladies we find in the Bubblicious I might have enough space to flower them both at the same time. I just got a little excited when my Bubblicious arrived that I popped them all didn’t really think the rest through but we will figure it out along the way. Now I’m not going to spend too much time posting about the Stardawg but I do figure its worth posting a little about it so why not post it here. So here's a bit of info, I was running out of smoke fast and knew my other stuff in veg wasn’t going to be ready to flower, so I took 25ish clones from my Stardawg mother and rooted them. Now after having previous success using hempy buckets in the past and knowing I had little time to veg I potted 10 Stardawg in 5L hempy’s and another 10 in the same 5L buckets with holes drilled in the bottom just like a normal pot. Since my last run in coco I have removed all chemical nutes from the grow room and am sticking to organic where ever possible, so I figured lets see what hempy’s are like with dirt. I love a good side by side and found lots of questions about soil hempy’s but very little solid information so figure why not. Ok enough of the rambling, I did say I wasn’t going to get into this too much so time for a quick pic this is on day 30 the 2 trays on the left are the soil hempy’s and the 2 trays on the right are the pots. I have 3x 315 CDM’s covering them 2x Agro’s and 1x Daylight in the middle.
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
