Hi Guys and Girls, hope you are well. I'm back for another grow, didn't journal last one RQS NL autos, just cropped two plants and got 730 and 717 gms off them, admittedly that's wet weight so probably end up with between 6.5 and 8 ounces per plant, amazing!!! Nice smoke too, I tested some of the small popcorn buds and even they are potent and tasty, can't go wrong with NLs really, classic strain. Anyway on to the next crop, I'll post pics later when I take some, haha. Bought new Exhale CO2 bag for them so should add some bulk overall. Peace y'ole Toaor

Haha, I was germinating 2 x 2 seeds but only one came up so I did some more and then forgot which was which when I transplanted, my previous NLs can take the blame, lol

Hi Guys and Girls, just took some pics after settling girls into their new home, they've been in small tent in loft. 1 x 2 week old, guess which one? The other 3 x 1 week old and I'm not sure if I got 2 x Bluematic and 2 x AK as I got mixed up. So I might 3 x AK and only 1 x Bluematic but I don't care it'll all get smoked. Peace y'ole Toaor

Hi All, me again back with another journal this time with Heavy Weight Seeds - Fast and Vast, which are supposedly producing 600-800gms ms2 in just 8 weeks from germination to harvest! Well, I'm five weeks in with three of them and four weeks in with one and as you can see they are nowwhere near ready and ain't goning to be in three weeks! Although that may be down to my pH keep rising, up to 7.5 at one point, and they were also getting a bit cold when light was off for 4 hrs each night. They got some serious growing to do if they are to produce anywhere near 600gms let alone 800gms! I reckon by the end I'll be lucky if I get 200-300 off all of them but that's not a problem, I'll have some NL autos on the go later this week so 200-300gms would carry me through 6 weeks till they're ready. They're currently under my Viparled 675w LED light and will get swapped to 600w HPS at the weekend. Anyway, here's some pics. Peace y'ole Toaor

I'm still smoking the last crop got about another 2 weeks worth but I just cropped some RQS NL autos. Well, I cropped one so far and got 730gms of bud, which if I lose 2/3rds in drying I'll end up with at least 8.5 ounces from one plant!!!! Even if I lose 3/4 I'll still end up with 6.5 ounces, which is still impressive. Toaor

Hi Rogering, yes I think that would work nicely. TBH honest I would grow 4 plants per sq metre so you could go with 64 plants, unless you mean your tent is 4" x 4" not 4 metres? They grow as wide as they do tall so no problem with height at all and if you spread across mesh you would get even more yield. Toaor

They were flushed for about 7-10 days before harvest and yes very nice smoke, very fast hitter in the head too. Toaor PS: I just seen the news about Franco, I am very sad :-(

Hi Guys and Girls, time for a little update as I cropped two plants last night. Measuring only 49cms and 55cms they have cropped 231gms and 230 gms of wet, so should dry to about 115gms. I work on getting 25% of wet weight, anything more is bonus. So roughly speaking they'll produce just over 2 ounces per plant and for such short plants that's pretty damn good IMHO. Here's some pics of them before I cropped. Peace y'ole Toaor

Hi Guys and Girls, almost time to harvest these babies, three of them will be 8 weeks on Wednesday this week and one is a week behind. None of them are completely ready so will take longer than the 8 weeks stated by Heavy Weight Seeds, I reckon another week or so for one of them, another 2 weeks or so for another two and obviously longer for the one that is a week younger. Here's some pics. Toaor

Hi Guys and Girls, I've not posted in ages so I hope you are good. I have a completely new set up 1m x 1m tent, Viparled 675w LED and my own hydropnic setup consisting of 32 liter plastic box reservoir, a cement mixing tray, airpots, water pump and a micro irrigation set. Cement mixing tray https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plastic-Builders-Mixing-Cement-Plastering/dp/B017A085W2/ref=sr_1_1?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1473076697&sr=1-1&keywords=cement+mixing+tray 32 litre reservoir https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wham-Plastic-Storage-Boxes-Litre/dp/6040194316/ref=sr_1_4?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1473076744&sr=1-4&keywords=32+litre+storage+box I have Airpots sitting on top of cement tray, which I've drilled holes in to allow nutes to drip back into reservoir underneath cement tray. I used normal garden hose £5 for 15 meters and attached Micro irrigation https://www.amazon.co.uk/Selections-GF4001-High-Quality-Micro-Irrigation/dp/B001RCA2JO/ref=sr_1_11?s=outdoors&ie=UTF8&qid=1473076860&sr=1-11&keywords=micro+irrigation My question is how harmful is the green algae growing on the roots coming out of the bottom of the airpots? Here's some pics. Toaor PS: Plastic bag in middle of plants is CO2, plants are four weeks today and about to put to flower. I'm using Dutch Pro.

Very nice smoke off both AH and WW. I made some cannabis e-juice for my vapourisor, smoking now, clean, nice, tastes mildly of a good black hash, heady, feeling nicely mellow. Got about 65ml out of 10grms trim. Peace y'ole Toaor

Hey Dust, how's you my friend? There's three strains - 1 x RQS Amnesia Haze, 2 x Delicious Candy (free seeds from Herbies Head Shop) and 2 x RQS White Widow, which ended up as the big yielders. I cut them down last week and off the 2 x WW, I got 1,375 gms, which I'm guessing will dry down to around 460gms ish, that's an amazing 8 ounces per plant! Even if it dries out a little more than 1/3rd I've still got the best yield I've ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's not much on the others, don't think they had the room with the WW taking over, around 1.5oz dry off the 2 x Delicious Candy and about the same off the 1 x Amnesia Haze. I've now got 4 x Fast and Vast Autos on the go but had a little pH trouble in the beginning so not looking too big so far but budding up nice. And, I'm waiting for some RQS Northern Lights Autos to arrive, should be today, then I'll start them as Fast and Vast have about 4-5wks to go so the NLs will be well on their way by the time I crop, which should be around Xmas. Trying to have crop every 4-6 weeks from here on in with my little starter tent in loft, gets cold up there but only for around 4 hrs, as I have autos on 20/4 under my Viparled 675w, then I switch to 600hps for final 4-6 weeks. I'll start a new journal for Fast and Vast and then one for NL autos. Take care my friend. Toaor PS: Are there any tester seeds? I'm happy to do a grow and journal it.

Hey Guys and Girls, hope you are healthy and happy. Some pics I took a few days ago, they're now on flush for a week or so. Heavyweight Fast n Vast are the next girls I'm growing, they're in the loft tent 3 weeks old so far.I'll start a new Journal for them soon. Peace y'ole Toaor

Hey Dust, hope you are well. Algae hasn't been a problem and hasn't grown in anyway, I think maybe as they canopy filled out less light is getting down to bottom so slowed down to a stop. Toaor

Some more pics five days on.

Hi Guys and Girls, beginning of week four pics, I have no idea why the first one is small!

Hi Guys and Girls, just a little update with some more pics. I've added a garden wire mesh over the top to spread them out screen of green style. PH still seems to rise so I have down it every couple of days just to keep in the right range.I've also upped the amount of nutes I'm giving them as Dutch Pro states 250-350ml per 100 liters water. I've upped that to 400ml per 100 liters because they recommend EC = 2.0 at this stage but mine is always around EC = 1.5, even upping it by that much I'm only getting EC 1.8 My normal tap water ph is around 7.0-7.2 so in the normal range, I then take down to 5.8-63, well I'm trying to keep in that range! I haven't yet but will put some clay pebbles over the roots to hopefully get rid of algae/chlorophyl. Peace y'ole Toaor

Hi Guys, this is from my journal and I've been asked if I would post it here too, so here it is: A few people have asked about the CO2 bubblers I have in my little grow tent so here's exactly what the set up is, very cheap and I think successful looking at my girls in comparison to my last grow they are way way ahead but that could just be the difference in strains, these are Autos the others weren't. In my set up I'm using: 2 x 1.5Liter drinks bottles 2 x Wine/Beer bubblers - Cost anything between $3-5 for two including the rubber bungs. Contents: 1 x Cup Unrefined sugar Half teaspoon Bakers Yeast, apparently brewers yeast is even better and last a bit longer as mine only produce bubbles well for three days before I either add more sugar or a freshmix completely. Half teaspoon baking soda to speed up process a little. Empty and clean your bottles, you can use bigger if you like just up the ingredients a bit, pour in 1 x cups of unrefined sugar, you can use standard white but I just happen to use unrefined anyway so it was to hand. Then pour in some warm NOT hot water fill 2/3rds, you must leave room at the top for expansion or they can overspill !!! Place top back on and shake furiously till sugar is pretty much dissolved in water, then remove top and add your yeast and baking soda, put top back on and shake like mad again. Voila, your mix is ready, now just put the bungs in bottle tops and put bubblers in the bung holes, fill one side of plastic bubbles with water and you'll be able to see exactly how often it produces bubbles of CO2. Mine normally start produciing within 3-4 hours and then bubble every 5-15, faster at first and then slowing down, once they slowed right down just repeat the whole exercise again or just top up with more sugar. I tend to do a completely fresh set up otherwise it produces bubbles but nowhere near the same rate. I'm doing my nutes change today and have now got another two bottle, which I now intend to hang above the plants, one in each corner as CO2 is heavy than oxygen so drops down, ideally you want it dropping onto your plants. There are many other ways to use CO2 from tiny little cannisters 5-10grams right up to huge great cyclinders with hundreds of liters but for most home/small growers the method described above is cheap and effective, the only problem is you have no real control over exactly how much CO2 is being released nor do you know exactly how much it's producing, unless you get a CO2 meter. Here's my set up with four bottles hanging one in each corner. Hope this helps, Toaor

Yes there is a puddle of run off, which is where it is happening, no not sure if Algae oir Chlorophyl but doesn't seem to be doing any harm at present, plants seem really helathy apart from a few leaves stunted or curled at the tips but think that's more high ph, it keeps going up.

Hi Guys and Girls, yes I know it's mainly guys on here but you never know so thought I'd address you all, lol. I have started off five Super Critical seeds very kindly sent to me for testing by the Green House Seed Co, along with Franco's special nutrient mix, which is formulated for the whole cycle of vegging and flowering. I will be keeping these in the greenhouse using B'Cuzz Kilomix soil and Franco's nutrients only, as and when they actually start flowering I will add some Atami Bloombastic but until then nothing else. All five seeds germinated so the Super Criticals have had a 100% success rate on germinating, which is brilliant, they all popped up within one day of planting into Root It organic matter cloning and seedlings cubes. As soon as they popped I put them in the B'Cuzz soil mix in these pics they are two days old. These are just Root It advert pics not my plants. Five Super Criticals plus four White Rhino x Skunk#1 I intend to put out on guerilla row

Hi Guys, it's Toaor back again and a happy new year to all. Just an FYI, when I try to login to this site I get a warning from my browser that the Site Certificate is out of date, therefore could be under attack from hackers trying to steal information. I logged in on three different browsers Chrome, Opera and Mozilla, all three gave warnings not to proceed unless I trust this site, which I did but would like the assurance that everything is up to date please. All the best for 2016 Peace y'ole Toaor

Week 9 Haze Berry Hi Guys and Girls, sorry not been around much to update this journal. Suffice it to say I'm currently smoking the Skunks, Special Queen and Power Flower but very disappointing yields. I know this is down the cooler temps in my new tent through the winter months around 22-24c with lights on and down to 15-17c when lights are off. This should sort itself out through Spring and Summer and bring them back up to the 26-28c range during lights on and probably 20-22c lights off. Everything else is just about perfect humidity, lights, extractor all brand new and working well. Anyway this is the last plant I left, Haze Berry, which is a 9-10 week finisher, she is exactly 9 weeks today so I might crop her later if I have time if not will be Friday. She's not huge yield but oh so resinous, take a look at the pics. I have now on the go 3 x Royal Caramel 6-7wks, 3 x Bubble Kush 7-8wks and 2 x Amnesia Haze 10-12wks I'll start a new hournal in the coming days and hopefully keep it more up to date. Peace y'ole Toaor
About us
Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.
Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
