  1. The Strain hunters collection has been great at showing different parts of the world and how they utilize marijuana as a part of society and their economy. This has been shown in all of the Strain Hunter documentaries. My suggestion is to perhaps do an edition of strain hunters where this angle is taken slightly differently - where you go to places such as the states or canada, where there are plenty of people growing for medicinal and breeding reasons on a variety of scales and plenty of economic growth being developed as a result. There are also a number of political and legal issues that can also be discussed. It will also allow a huge variety of strains to be documented.
  2. Looks awesome - and looks like you guys have put a lot of time, effort and energy into this. Really good to see, good work!
  3. Hey guys will be uploading pics v.v.v.soon getting internet today. Got about 8-9 ounces all up - which should last me a decent amount of time. Much better then I anticipated. Also - I used 5 gallon pot and 12 gallon pot not liter... oops my bad. Now that its cured - it has a very pungent and complex smell. Sweet/fruity yet cheesy at the same time. Fast hitting high, definately a head high. Uplifting and at the same time relaxing. Very good for chilling out with friends or watching a funny movie. The taste is very rich, and really reflects on the smell. Very sweet with a smooth after taste. Smoke is smooth, relatively expansive - but still easy to handle. Negatives (bud): The high is very much a narcotic high without much stone feeling - not so good for sleeping. * I suggest letting at least some of the trichomes to go amber or partially amber to try raise cbd content. Positives (bud): Well pretty much exactly the same as the negatives. This weed although isn't good for falling asleep or blocking ur mind for whatever reason - it is good for having a good time whether its with friends or playing mario kart on nintendo. More details: Buds are covered in crystals and resin. Despite being at around 12% moisture, the buds still stick to paper due to their resin content. Buds are dense (but density varies based on distance from light). Some buds turned purplicious in the last couple weeks, whilst the majority of buds present a very vibrant green color contrasted by bright orange/brown hairs and milky crystals.
  4. Every day u r surrounded by awesome weed free for the taking... to take a 15 day tolerance break is an achievement. Well done!
  5. This one I named big momma. From the very start she was a badass.
  6. A picture of one of the buds uploaded from phone. will upload more soonish
  7. this is a relief... too many good memories at greenhouse on waterloopen (forgot how to spell the street).
  8. cool. I feel much better now. thanks everyone! (super critical auto btw - a bit over 7 wks flower)
  9. yeh. 5 days ago, doing two more smaller flushes tomorrow
  10. it definately isn't black. But it is dark. Could the tips be burning due to light being too close?
  11. sorry about the picture quality... it looks a lot better on my end (due to resizing). some of the new'ish leaves have dark colouration on the edges to tips.
  12. so i noticed the tips of my buds going a dark colour. I assumed it was simply my bud turning purple as it was just the tips of the bud. However now Im getting paranoid its that black mould shit. I wouldnt say its black, but its dark - and to me it looks dark purple... But its questionable. The colouration isnt at the centre of the bud... but the outside. I have attached an image. please look and give me ur input.
  13. Hey, I've enjoyed growing and found it very educating. But yeh my decision to try growing came with the mindset I'd do it once, and do it properly. It is tempting to start again - but for my circumstances the inconveniences that come with it are too high. Perhaps when I am older Nonetheless - keep posted in a couple weeks, I will be uploading pictures of the whole growth period from day 1 - and provide more information on feeding schedule, things I learnt and obstacles I faced along the way .
  14. Hey guys. Sorry this is my first post - I'm still figuring out the functionality on this forum . I grew three super critical auto's from seed. It was my first grow - and might be my last for a while. I decided to try growing, because I love the plant and I have a passion for good sticky icky! Grow Medium: Coco with BAC final solution, 5 Litre pot (one plant), and a 12 Litre pot (two plants). Lighting: I used a 400 Watt HPS lamp, up untill the last 2 weeks where I added a 90W LED lamp (I noticed an almost instant difference when i added 90W LED lamp). The tops of my plants - once they finished growth were about 6 to 10 inches from light with fan blowing. During growth about 12 inches from light. Grow Area: I grew in a 0.6*1.6*1.8 metre tent, with a carbon filter, intake fan, dehumidifier, air con, and regular oscillating fan. (Tent really wasn't big enough, but with a tiny bit of shuffling I managed to get through). Nutrients: BAC organic Veg, Bloom, PK booster, Bloom and Root Stimulator. I chose these as their ingredients are quite obviously aimed at flavor and resin production. Other: PH down/Up, CO2 enricha, Ca/Mg/Nitrogen foliage spray (used 3-4 times in early bloom) Humidity and Temperature: Temperature was roughly around 27-29 degrees celcius during day and about 18 degrees celcius at night, Humidity I tried to keep between 40-50 percent in flowering, 60 percent in veg... however sometimes I am not home to change dehumidifier so humidity would sometimes rise to 60 percent in flower.Vegetation Period: As these were auto's it took roughly 2-3 weeks to reach bloom. Growth was relatively fast during vegetation. Blooming Period: Plant went through massive growth for about 2-3 weeks once starting bloom. When buds began to gain mass the plant stopped growing. Flowering took 7 weeks. I harvest the three plants at different times 6.5 wks, 7 wks, and 7.5 wks of flowering. The Strain: My three plants turned out very different. One turned out very indica dominant, and was only about 60 cm in height - it had very dense thick and wide buds. Another one turned out extremely tall, with branches coming out everywhere and seemed to take after it's white widow side of genetics - it was 120cm. It's buds were not as dense but very large and fragrant. The other plant (my favorite), had rediculously dense and thick buds. It was 100cm. All three plants had an incredible amount of resin (and in its last weeks looked silver under the HPS light). Feeding: Plants didn't need too much feeding. I fed twice a week and watered in-between. Yield: Looking very good... and ALOT more then I expected. Still waiting for exact figures - will repost in a couple weeks with pics of growth period (veg, bloom, budding, harvest). Im hoping for 80 grams off the two big plants (each) and 50 grams off the small one. Cool things about strain: the smell is outstanding (very chronic and in your face), resin production turns buds a milky silver colour in sunlight, very deep and vibrant green color, small purple discolorations on some of the buds. Conclusion: Plants flourished the whole time I grew them. They can handle a lot of stress, high temperatures and high'ish humidities. From what I've tested so far I can say the high is very uplifting and social. It is more of a head high then a body high. The taste differed which each plant and they haven't dried properly or cured yet so I can't really comment on the taste... I also found that if I flushed every 10 days - allowed to dry, then feed I'd get much more explosive growth (especially in flowering). Resin production also peaks after being allowed to dry. Pictures: I will post pictures up when i receive internet in a couple weeks. I will be posting weekly interval pics and further details on nutrient intake.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
