  1. Welcome to my Grow Journal! This is my first, so i hope i do it right! Please bear with me! I am growing 6 African strains, in Zimbabwe, (Southern Hemisphere). All Sativa, (obviously!) Strains: 1 Malawi Black, 1 African Haze, 1 African Skunk, 1 Green Bomber, 1 Transkei, 1 Purple Mountain Medium: All in buckets of soil from my farm. I mixed Very good red soil with some river sand and sheep manure. (This is my own soil medium mix that i have been perfecting over the few grows that i have done) Ok, well this is the start! I will post pictures very soon! Hope to hear your thoughts and contributions!

  3. This is a shared grow. Vegetative stage develops at 0° 8'40"S , at 2892 meters above sea level. When Flowering, plants are moved into a valley near Quito at 0°12'33"S 2350 masl. This is a mix of unknown strains germinated on 21- 04 - 2013 Photo was taken on 15 - 06 - 2013

  5. Hello All! My name is Mariano; I am from Argentina and this is my 3rd time having Plants. In this case I would like to introduce my self and give to you an opionon about the new seed call White Lemon. This seed isn't in the catalog yet but it is a great plant! Very easy to grow and with very good results (I have attached some photos of it). My review regarding the White Lemon is the following: It is a very easy Plant; during all process I didn't have any issue; the plant it's very strong, do not have a very long-term floration (It's faster than the Hawaiian Snow), and the productions of buds is awesome. I have harvest this plant on March 15 more or less; so my Buds already had 4 months in a Jar. The taste is great (very lemonnn); It has a strong hit that affects directly to the brain. If you are starting to smoke, or if you share it with people that is not used to smoke, be aware that this is a very strong plant, and it's better if you recommend them just to have one smoke; if not, thery are going to have a very hard trip!. I am very greatful for having the chance to plant this incredible seed; and very thankful to Green house that send me the product!. Next time I will give my review regarding the Hawaiian Snow; another excellent plant!!! Have a good day!!!
  6. I’ve been growing for five years in Quito, Ecuador. There are some elements that are quiet unique in this city that is located at 2800masl (my grow place is a little bit higher). It is just a few kilometers from the equator so there are no seasons (or variations in the sunlight hours). We have only “two seasons”; rainy and sunny, temperatures never go below 4°C or above 27°C. Our height, almost 3k above the sea level, and our latitude result in high levels of uv radiation. The uv index states that the maximum level recommended is 11. During sunny days uv index goes from 9 to 11.8*, reaching levels of 16 and 23** in other areas. I’m pretty sure that high levels of cbdv and thcv could be developed in outdoor grows around the country. These are some of the plants i had for the past five years. *http://www.temis.nl/...hp?lon=78&lat=0, http://www.uvawareness.com/ ** http://www.bbc.co.uk..._ozono_gz.shtml
  7. Hi guys, Just wanted some answers to two questions. It is almost the middle of winter here in oz and i am on the east coast near the beach and we dont get frosts. It can get down to 8 deg c or so at night or about your 50 f. If i germ autos indoors can i take them out and use the sun as they have no photoperiod? Also the other question is if i buy 10 reg seeds and get half males and if i pick the most robust one if it pollinates the girls will they also be autos? that way i can stagger plant every two weeks or so for a small perpetual grow in my yard from the new seed and just les as i will have heaps of seed..... I am a bit stoned so i hope you guys understand me lol. Just dont want to wait till the end of summer in 9 months lol... And i wont buy fem autos as i dont have funds just to have one go and not get a clone etc... cheers guys please help
  8. Hello all, this is my first time writing something here in Strain Hunters! I wanted to share here the journal of my five Barney's Pineapple Express feminized auto and three Royal Queen's Amnesia Haze feminized autos. I have put them in water 5 days ago, now most have sprouted. Still waiting for three. I have some experience in growing but mostly indoors. This time I want to use the sun. I have chosen autos because I am looking for a quick harvest, hopefully the PinEx will be ready in 65 days and the AmHaze in 80. They are in pots that range from 5-11 liters, I want to do an experience with the different sizes to see if the ones in smaller ones actually get ready quicker. I will also try to top some so I can get 2 or 4 tops. Some I will leave as a single cola so it goes faster too and as an experiment. Any advices here would be welcome. Anyway I will wait for the third knot to do any topping, something I once heard and suppose is good to the plant. I am also sharing so I can get tips and hear what you guys have to say. Hopefully they will become beautiful plants! Thank you all, peace and toke on! A music to wish a good vibes to my plants:
  9. Well this is my first official outdoor grow and I must say, so far so good! I also must warn you that I have not been keeping a very accurate log but I took lots of pictures and will continue to take more till the harvest! All of my plants are random seeds I have collected from quality bud, not A++ but at least B+ or greater. I soaked the seeds in water and waited for them to crack before planting them in cups of soil. For the first few weeks of each plant they were taken outside almost every day to get the sunlight they crave, weather permitting. This led to a very uneven lighting schedule and slow growth but it ended up working well for me so hey hey window plants transfer to the outdoors nicely! All the following photos are of my plants this summer the biggest one is at least 10 weeks old. I have 4 total growing outside this season all at different stages; I am testing for what size is the best for transplant from indoor to outdoor. Also, if anyone has experience growing larger outdoor plants, could you tell me how much it smells when flowering , like is there a smell radius around the plant or if the wind is in the right direction can you smell it from a far distance?
  10. a few pics of this beautiful lady on last summer. organically grown in soil. Had a real early flowering, harvested in september. the smell was so sweet and high was soft and very pleasant.
  11. right, so the seeds arrived yesterday. Weather has been lovely for the last week, but today seems cloudy. oh well. I have put some seeds in wet tissue paper to germinate. once they germ, I will be putting them into small pots outside in the greenhouse for a week or so. I will up date every step. in the mean time, il get some pots of soil with powder feed mixed up into the soil tomorrow so it ready and soaked in to the soil in advance!
  12. Some pictures from my last season crop. An OG kush from the spanish seedbank Dinafem. soil organic crop fertilization in flowering: top max and BioBloom (biobizz) harvested on October 10 beautiful plant with buds full of resin and very compact. the smell is strong , citrus touches with detergent and gasoline.
  13. Hello to all fellow growers, I'll be starting my first ever grow in about a week. I'll be germinating some Easy Ryder from the joint doctor, and pineapple express and sweetooth auto from Barney's farm. they will be going in a mixture of coco, perlite, and bat guano mostly. some ill try potting soil with the perlite and bat guano. any suggestions for any other feeding regiments I should adopt for auto plants? I have 2 small bottles of advanced nutrients jungle juice grow part a and part b that I would like to try on 1 or 2 of the plants, what other fertilizer would compliment the jungle juice grow fertilizer? I'm looking for a good auto grow guide if anyone knows, I am an absolute beginner never tries growing before. Stay lifted, psyjic

Muchas gracias! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a Arjan's Haze #1 that was born in 3 December, so it's almost 2 months old. Unfortunately, since January until a few days ago I had no control over the grow, so I couldn't precise any further data according to watering, temperatures, etc. Maybe it had insufficient watering, and right now we're going through the hottest days of the year, and she already had 2 or 3 strong storms. What could I do with this little plant so it can come back to its cycle? Any idea of what could've happened? Have you ever seen a Cannabis plant two months old this little?

  20. A technique which I have heard works well. say you have 5 plants in a line, over 5 metres. drill hole at the bottom of a large container, (water container for camping, large bucket) and, so air tight put a 6 metre length of hose in it. hang this about a foot or more of the ground at the start of the line. assuming you have planted directly into the ground, run the hose across the 5 planting areas, and at the end put a bamboo stick in the ground. tape the end of the hose to this, most of the way down the stick so the hose is vertical at that end. with large U shaped nails sercure the hose over the growing areas by putting U shaped nails over the pipe inbetween each site, so flat against the earth. with a pin, make 2 -4 tiny holes over all the spots, and block the end of the hose attached to the bamboo. fill container with water and cover with leaves , branches, bushy bit so its not so obvious over head. return every 2 weeks with more water and nutrients pre mixed? any good? what can make it better , keeping costs to basically nothing?
  21. I know many growers in the UK have trouble finishing due to poor weather, which ultimately stunts growth or starts bud rot. lets here from you, strains which work best for you and ones which don't. my top 3 are: purple maroc (finishes everytime, great results but not a massive fan of high from purples. The church: always finishes, mould of 1 out of 9 which is not bad at all, tried this a few years back so strain is probably much more established now with 100% finishing rate. easy sativa: this was a pleasure, took 7 weeks! how is this possible for a sativa?? awesome strain. all 3 have worked well for me. what are your top 3?
  22. First a good soil mixture

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
