  3. Alright, here are the facts: on Tuesday 31 January at 22:00, after a huge Cheese joint, I decided to take a short break from smoking cannabis. How short, I still don't know. For sure I am not going to last too long. Maybe 3-4 days, maybe a week, maybe 2... not longer, I know it already..... I just like it TOO MUCH! And now the explanation: I started smoking cannabis in 1989. Since then, I have smoked cannabis EVERY DAY, except for: - 7 days in March 1998 (I was in the hospital) - 14 days in October 1999 (I was in the hospital for 7 days, and feeling like shit for the next 7) - 7 days in March 2011 (during a bad bronchitis I decided to see if I was able to stop, just to prove myself to myself) So, let's put this down to the math: in the last 22 years I have been smoking weed for approximately 8035 days, and NOT smoking it for 28 days (or 0,3% of the days). I am not far from reaching the 40 years old milestone. I think it's time to prove myself that I smoke cannabis because I like it, and not because it's just the norm in my life. And the best way to do that it's to stop for a little bit every once in a while. I decided to start this blog-entry to share my experience and my feelings with the community. After all, nobody can understand better than my fellow tokers.... And now on with the chronicles: DAY 1 - waking up knowing that the only breakfast will be a cigarette and a glass of orange juice is not really appealing. But I am determined to do this. The day goes on, I am really busy at the office and I manage to get to lunchtime without too much stress. After lunch I really struggle, so I allow myself 2 cigarettes in a row. My colleagues don't know I have stopped weed, and I am not telling anyone for the moment. Avoiding the subject is the best way to not think about it too much. The rest of the afternoon goes by fast, but then comes the hardest part: the evening. I eat a nice dinner, play with my kids, then go out in the garden for a cigarette. I am really, really close to giving up. But I don't. When the kids are in bed I try to distract myself with iPad, TV, iPod, iMac, and Nintendo. It's not enough. I am literally freaking out. My heartbeat is slightly faster than normal, and the palms of my hands are a little sweaty. Who said weed is not addictive? LOL Time to go to sleep. I smoke one more cigarette, then lay in bed wide awake for a couple of hours before I finally pass out. Hard day. Really hard day. But it's normal, it's day 1. DAY 2 - I woke up less stressed than yesterday. It's all in the mind... ;-) Even though it's -7 degrees outside, I decide to take my Ducati because today it's the last dry, sunny day of this week. Tomorrow snow will come. I have an appointment at the Coffeeshop in the Haarlemmerstraat, and I am really scared that I am not going to resist temptation. As soon as I arrive the sweet smell of weed penetrates my nose, and my soul. My appointment rolls 3 joints in 30 minutes, but I don't even blink. After 15 minutes I walk outside and smoke a cigarette. Now everybody start asking me why I am not smoking joints, so I have to let the news go public. LOL After the Coffeeshop I go to the office. There nobody knows yet, and this makes it easier on me. I smoke 2 cigarettes in 20 minutes, then dive into my work: writing articles for the new issue of Canamo Magazine, and helping the designers produce new banners for Powder Feeding. It's now past 15:00 and I am doing a lot better than yesterday. Hopefully tonight will be also a little easier than last night.... Tomorrow I'll let you know. And now let's talk money: who wants to bet on how long I am going to last? Who's gonna be the official "bookie"? Can I bet 10 Euros on myself for a 7-days-clean strike? How are the quotes? LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
  4. Lemon skunk 6 weeks and 5 days. When should I harvest?
  5. Just saw ABC, I reckon it would be cool as something different! Plus I was reading about it being high in CBD and other cannabinoids with medicinal properties.
  6. Wake up Sweden! It is getting embarrassing hearing our ministers talking about Swedish made up terms as "haschpsychosis" or claiming increase of schizophrenia or frying of brain cells with a loss of IQ as a result of long term cannabis use. Swedish officials talking about "0 vision against drugs" in the UN/WHO and other world leading organisations while drinking alcohol and pushing legal highs and mind altering highly addictive drugs in third world countries and breaking international conventions and EU laws. Swedish propaganda regarding cannabis have very selective moral based arguments and very little to no evidence based or factual proof, this propaganda machinery is backed by people benefiting in hard cash due to their campaigns and study's against cannabis with contracted addiction programs combined with prison sentence and/or hefty finds. This while the same government is controlling alcohol and tobacco trade in a more scientific and more humane way of treating addicts based on information and harm reduction with no legal actions towards the user unless a crime is committed under the influence. These study's and educational programs paid by the Swedish government in other words, us the taxpayers money is literally killing people and forcing them in to becoming a criminal and the people charged are automatically called drug abusers and become narcotic felons due the legal status alone. These laws are superimposed by the Swedish Police force that with a minimum of suspicion will force You with violence to make a doctor or nurse draw your blood to prove their suspicion if You deny any criminal activity based on the redness of Your eyes. Doctors and/or nurses are not allowed to partake in torture related activities and are eligible for lawsuits however in Sweden they don't care about this since You are a "junkie" until proven that You are not. If test result comes out negative You are free to go. If positive finds and you are now a drug abusing citizen with a criminal record as a narcotic felon just because you might have smoked a joint in Amsterdam or Colorado the day before. Or You can plead guilty and go in to a substance abuse program specially made up in Sweden for cannabis "junkies" based on the "haschbook" and the knowledge from the 60`s and is full of "Reefer madness" propaganda. This program will insure that You pee in a cup for up to 2 years so You don't fall back i to Your destructive abusive ways of your cannabis addiction and you will possibly lose your drivers license, job and possibly your home if guilty of using cannabis i Sweden. Meanwhile the people supporting this cruel legislation is walking tall, making money with the rest of the elite. Because off course these higly educated and sober people would never, ever do something that a certain percentage of the children growing kid up in Sweden and the rest of the world is doing and always have been doing since the dawn of mankind, right? Our Prime minister, Financial minister and other representatives in the Swedish government and financial elite is happy about this law being so new to us, with good reason. They openly admitted using cannabis when they where younger and our Finance minister Anders Borg went in to politics wanting to decriminalize/legalize cannabis. Does this apply to everyone to talk about use of drugs in the past and get away with it? Yes if the time is right. The period of prescription with respect to criminal offenses is a wonderful thing, I have to agree on that and we Swedish and Scandinavians do like to travel abroad to do our business, it is in our genetics and our history tells us of Scandinavians travelling to the middle east, Greece, Greenland and the Americas long before Christ or Columbus was born and fact is that the Christians came to Scandinavia forcing prohibition upon us and forcing Swedish people to grow Hops for alcohol and killing the ones who would not comply. Just like everywhere else, burning of witches, torture to pay tax and book burning to get control of education and information. Luckily we wrote our history in stone. Still the year 2014 the Christians and other morally panicking members within government have huge problems with the open minded Swedish population version 3.0. And here in Sweden internet is considered a problem by the government due to the exchange of information, that rhetoric sounds familiar to a short guy in Korea that I have heard allot about online. But surely it must be a legal medicine even i Sweden? The Swedish Läkemedelsverket (Medical Products Agency) have since January 1, 2014 decided to charge money (40.000 SEK) for applications that use to be free, off course these applications is regarding license to grow/ export/import medicinal cannabis. No refund regardless of outcome on your application and no information is given you regarding standard protocol or guidelines to apply or follow in regard to hazard analysis, critical control point or other crucial information when growing medicinal cannabis. According to this agency in charge of medicine in Sweden it is the wrong way of getting cannabinoids such as THC and CBD in to the body by "smoking the dry and cured flower of a natural herb". Reason - Unknown at this time. Meanwhile GW Pharmaceuticals have FREE PRICING on their medicinal cannabis products and a privately held company called Bedrocan in Holland/Netherlands is making millions within the EU regarding the same medicinal cannabis in its natural form that is an illegal medicine in Sweden. Doctors here and there? Lobbyist at work? If cannabis in its raw form "marijuana" is so dangerous as these prohibitionist´s claim and doctors against this natural medicine suggest, I strongly suggest that the millions of users that are using it and have been using it for thousands of years would be able to present one single person that at least got lung cancer or died from using marijuana as medicine? Marijuana is a non lethal drug with very low toxicity according to the scientific method LD50 and medicinal cannabis "marijuana" that can relieve and help people suffering from some of the most common diseases and small little ailments on the planet such as back problems, migraine, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, glaucoma or a common cold and it is commonly used to help with the disturbing side effects from the traditional medicine in cancer treatments and HIV/AIDS treatment. And so much more... And this is just from "smoking" the herb itself in its natural form. We can produce in the comfort of our own home medicinal cannabis in any shape, form, strength, taste that is just as good and better then these so called lab made pharmaceuticals and it is being done worldwide, regardless of the law. Change is upon us even in little "worried" and "anxious" Sweden. Good luck in the EU, UN, WHO and more organisations I hope Reinfeldt or whomsoever that is next in line for "the throne" here in Sweden that You have a backup plan when the Swedish hypocrisy and breaking of International and EU trading rules and regulation are out in the open. You better smarten up Swedish officials and decriminalize cannabis, again. See You in court Swedish government, bring Your best. - M, Bravin. In the news today: United Nations Secretary-General and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Kofi Annan "The UN drug control system is built on the idea that all governments should work together to tackle drug markets and related problems. Leaders should take the opportunity presented by these shifts in public opinion to start implementing harm-reduction policies and public health strategies that can make a real and lasting impact on drug trafficking and consumption. All authorities – national and international – must recognise reality and move away from conventional measures of drug law enforcement ‘success’ (e.g. arrests, seizures, convictions), which do not translate into progress in communities." 8. Hello everybody! Long-time grower and activist, former MMJ dispensary owner. I've been growing indoors and outdoors since I was 15... in my 30s now. I have definitely done my part to legalize cannabis here in Colorado but got burned-out by the greedy politicians trying to make money off medicine. Now it's legal for recreational use and I don't mind the taxes on this as much as I did having to tax the sick and disabled. I've been off the radar for a couple years now... this summer I will be growing ........ .. ...... .... . Looking for some local help with genetics since Greenhouse Seeds won't ship to the U.S.. Interested in auto-flowers but skeptical because they sound too good to be true. Since I am at about 2200m above sea level I am looking for some Afghani strains so I can harvest before the snows in October. Would like to connect with other growers in the Pikes Peak area.
  9. Hello Strainhunters and fans! I love the documentaries. My name is Matthew, I recently quit my real job and headed to Denver to start a small business giving cannabis tours in my 62 split window VW microbus. The green rush is on!! The herb out here in Denver is stellar, and the dispensaries can barely keep up with the demand. Denver is an excellent example of the benefits cannabis provides for the people, and for the economy.
  10. We all know how stressful transplanting can be, so I thought I'd try something new, and I made a discovery of a neat little trick with my most recent transplant, so I thought I'd share it!! I wasn't expecting such amazing results, and it was merely and attempt at reducing transplant shock, so, while I took notes I didn't take any pics, but rest assured the next time I transplant, I will take pics for all to see and follow!! You will need: A dim Lamp,One pot the same size as your current pots,Cling FilmNew pots,Soil,Dechlorinated water,Superthrive, beneficial bacteria solution (I used Vitalink Bio-Pac),Nutrient Thermometer.Plant Soil Condition: You don't want your soil to be too wet or too dry, roughly halfway through the watering cycle, so that when you lift the plant out of the pot the exposed soil feels moist but not wet. Preparation: Use hot water (boiled for 20 minutes to remove Chlorine) to warm your dechlorinated water up to 22C.Add your Superthrive and beneficial Bacteria - I used 5ml per litre of Superthrive and 15ml per litre of Bio-Pac. Wrap old pot in cling film - So that you don't fill it with soil later!Method: Prepare your new pots with a layer of soil - you want enough in each pot so that when you place your old pot in you have enough room to add a little extra soil on top afterwards.Place your old pot in the centre of the new pot.Add soil into the gaps.Gently pat it down - you don't want to compact the soil, just make sure it hold its shape when you lift the old pot out.Water very lightly - Try and do just enough that when you lift the old pot out, the bottom of the soil is still dry.remove the old pot from the middle.Turn out the light, and turn on the lamp.Gently remove your plant from its old pot - I turn the pot upside down, and push on the bottom of the pot to release it (keep your other hand ready to catch it, you don't wanna drop and break your babies!!).place it into the new pot - being very careful with the roots (try and handle it where you can see exposed soil rather than on the roots).Top with a a little bit more soil.Water as normal 36 - 48 hours after transplant. And that's it! Notes: Of the 12 that I transplanted this way, 7 showed no signs of transplant shock, 5 showed very slight signs of shock - Their leaves went down a little, but were up and singing within 10 hours of transplant! There has been no noticeable reduction in growth. One of the plants whose leaves went down momentarily, also happens to be the tallest and has grown 11cm in the 5 days since transplant. I'm sure you'll agree, this is a successful response from my transplanting method! I warmed the water to reduce any shock caused by cold water. I used Superthrive to reduce the shock of transplant. I used Bio-Pac to add beneficial bacteria to the new soil. I kept the new soil relatively dry to allow the roots to search into it straight away, rather than let it dry out over a few days before it becomes appealing the roots. I used the lamp while transplanting, to reduce the amount of light the roots get exposed to. So that's that guys! Any questions, ask away!!
  12. hi guys, I will soon be uploading a video of my present grow. 8 autos from Sweet Seeds - 5 Dark Devil(wonderful plant, with purple buds of various shades depending on the phenotype, and Creme Caramel, a delightful plant to grow and smoke. Will be up as soon as I can. Then , after the present grow, a white lemon and Flower Bomb Kush grow as promised. thanks to all, and hello to all my friends here, john
  13. Okay the weather gets better and time is running on us so it's about time we start our journal. My indoor cup aspiration has been demolished by my troubled grow @ the moment. Sorry GHSC for not competing after I had applied and started the journal! I'll be dedicated with these girls and will keep you guys updated. The remaining MM (6x) I'll use them for my new indoor grow and report that somewhere within the all mediums area on the forum. -------((Indoor I'm running an LED Spectrabox II Pro 250 Watt 10 colour Spectrum light panel, all the way this time probs, cause a possible light upgrade is issued once more and that could mean I"ll be revieuwing a dutch manufacturers LED panel along the way (they are going to send me the product for revieuw purposes) hope they will arrive before vedging the MM indoor. Or possible clones I'm going to be making from the specimen I put out. I also have my thoughts on running an other medium indoor and that is probs going to be a DWC setup))------. As this is about outdoor I've made a start with the germination GHSC style. This means the girls have had a bath in a glass off water ph 5.5 in the dark a little less than 24 hours, after that they went on a moist cottonpad and covered with moist cottonpads and plastic but no seal to have oxigen get to them, they have stayed in there a little less then 24 hours. I've been Germinating 4x Money Maker for the competition, 3 White Lemons (for tent grow and 4 Afgooey also for the tent grow, roots looked great after there preparation. And now they are places inthere starters underground. I keep my seeds in the refigurator when not used (spare, seeds) at about 7 C Celcius. They seem to sprout real fast from that change in temperature. So far all looked good except for 1 off the White Lemons. Here are the first pics. I'm working on some fancy layout for you guys like Ninja and other very respected members make cause I like those journals very mutch they get a great amount off attention witch really pays off I think! I'm going to do my best and make a GHSC worthy report on my GHSC grows, for the cup I'll be feeding with Powder Feeding off course! Till there head pops up they have an electrical controlled environment within the electrical Propagator on the pictures within this they stay @ 26 C Celsius for gemination. http://blmkb.nl/GF.mp3
Demasiadas podas o esquejes. 18. Hey everyone, in the latest of times ive finally started germinating 2 Caboose's! They will be grown in soil! 8 Feb Germination started, Little general info: Both seeds germinated in less then 30hours. Powder feeding started -/-. Technique used; I am using acouple of cotton pad's, keeping them in a pitch-dark box with a humidifier on the left and a heating-element to the right, with the lid ontop of the box semi-open for letting fresh oxygen and a fine fog from the humid'r down & in. Condititions; For the first 8hours of germination i had 26°C (78,8F) & 99% RH, i later changed this to 23°C (73,4F) & 75%-85% RH. I'm keeping such a low temp since seeds are indica. Keeping them moist & a steady eye. Setup i will use for propogating & vegg'in is my 200W CFL & a little Vents-100 fan. The setup i am using for flowering is a 400w hps at the moment, hoping to get another one before week 4 flowering. Mylar on the walls. I have prepared a container for their seedling stage, it is a small pot made out of mainly peat, i have some positive experience from it, but i've done alittle experiment this time; I first made a very "airy" mix with only the smallest hydroton pellets, a soil already containing "mini-clay-peb" & some vermiculite. I put the mix in theese peat-containers, i dig out the middle of the mix, putting only soil i the middle of the container, then i water it heavy, like flush them. GreenHouse powder feeding all the way! My other Caboose, you can find it here! Peace!
  19. Cannabis factory couple who gave away their £400,000 drug-dealing fortune to poor Kenyan village are jailed for three years Pair paid for life-saving surgery, computers in a hospital and schooling 'Most unusual cannabis growing case of its type', says prosecutor Couple, in their 60s, visited village near coastal town of Mombasa regularly By Larisa Brown A couple who ran a cannabis factory and spent their fortune on helping poor African families and charities have been jailed. Michael Foster, 62, and Susan Cooper, 63, made £400,000 by illegally growing hundreds of plants at their farmhouse home during a six-year operation. But instead of pocketing the money, they spent a large proportion of it on people in a Kenyan village - paying for life-saving surgery, computers for an eye hospital and schooling for poor children. Jailed: Michael Foster, left, and Susan Copper, right, spent the majority of their money made from selling cannabis grown in their farmhouse home on poor people living in a Kenyan village When the pair, from Lincolnshire, were not helping people in Kenya, they were living an incredible double life selling wholesale kilo deals of cannabis to a local drugs baron. Although the Judge appeared impressed with their good work, they were jailed for three years at Lincoln Crown Court. Prosecutor Jon Dee told the court Foster and Cooper’s life was the 'most unusual cannabis growing case of its type'. He added: 'This couple were both in their 60s and were of previous good character. 'For six years they produced cannabis in significant quantities. This was a professional and commercial set up.' Gareth Wheetman, representing Foster, said. 'The very fact they were repeatedly flying off to Kenya in itself required money but the evidence demonstrates much of the money was being put to charitable and good use.' Cooper’s lawyer, Chris Milligan, added: 'Susan Cooper is a good person who has done a bad thing. There is another side to her. In 2004 the couple converted two buildings on their farm in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire into a cannabis factory 'When a young adult called Wilson got a gangrenous infection in his leg he was given two days to live. She paid for that treatment.' The court heard how the couple were regular visitors to a village in the Kwale district, near the tourist coastal town of Mombasa, Kenya. The couple told police much of the money they illegally obtained was spent helping the local people they met. They used the money to pay for life-saving surgery for people in the village and schooling for the children (file photo) Diani Beach, a tourist hotspot in the Kwale District of Kenya, not too far from where the couple visited regularly Jailing the couple, Judge Sean Morris told them: 'You were growing it on a significant scale, jetting off to Kenya on it. 'Lots of money was going into your bank accounts, over a number of years hundreds of thousands went in. 'I am sure you were doing good things in Kenya with your drugs money, whether that was to appease your consciences I can only speculate.' In 2004 Foster and Cooper converted two buildings on their farm in Long Sutton, Lincolnshire, into a cannabis factory, where they grew hundreds of illegal plants and sold kilos of the drug to a local dealer. Police only caught the couple by accident when an officer, who happened to stumble across their home while pursuing a burglar nearby, smelled the cannabis. Inside police found 159 cannabis plants, worth an estimated £20,000. Two of the buildings had been converted into a growing room and drying room. Officers also recovered £20,000 in £1,000 bundles from a carrier bag. Foster and Cooper were arrested and interviewed following the raid in June 2010. Mr Dee added: 'At the time this couple were completely off the police radar. They were caught completely by chance.' When the officer knocked on the farmhouse door Cooper, a divorcee, answered. She replied 'Yes I do' when the officer asked if she knew why he was there. The couple admitted four charges of producing cannabis and a single offence of possessing criminal cash. copied and pasted from - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2219477/Cannabis-factory-couple-gave-400-000-drug-dealing-fortune-poor-Kenyans-jailed-years.html Peace Lams

  23. hey everyone, finally had time to get on here and write an intro! ill be on often, just had to get the laptop back and running. name's Daniel i just started this first time grow for my uncle who has cancer, and I am hoping to ease his pain a bit with these magical plants. he doesn't know about it, i'm hoping to surprise him within a month or so. anyways, i was brought onto the site by "Dust" and his awesome feed on instagram! he's helped me quite a few times on there and i figured i'd join here and get more helpful advice, and later on be able to give some advice as well! for this grow i have in progress i have one Roadrunner Auto and one Somango auto female... we're at day 7 today (since first real leaves) and they're looking very good. although we have a good road ahead. my Instagram account is "firsttimemedical" as well, and i post pictures daily of just my grow. http://statigr.am/firsttimemedical anyways, not sure what else to post so feel free to ask away. for the grow i am using a 4sq foot space about 4 feet tall. have 4-5 small fans all around sucking air out and one putting fresh in. i have 2 FL full spectrum grow lights and 2 cfl at 6000k for now using only water at 6.0~ PH and will begin using FOX FARM TRIO next week. dust is convincing me to begin powderfeeding but im still a little confused about it for my autos. well, cheers! any input post away. hope to meet everyone! -D
  24. The Green House Seed Co sweeps the 25th High Times Cannabis Cup 2012 awards in Amsterdam by winning first prize for the overall cannabis cup, first prize for best Nederhash, and first prize for the best import hash. Jason Mraz was given the honor of presenting Arjan & Franco of the Green House the awards. Every year around 2500 'judges' flock to Amsterdam to vote for the best cannabis in the world, and this year the majority voted the Green House's Flower Bomb Kush as the best cannabis available in Amsterdam. Furthermore Green House's Sharkberry Cream won best import hash and their Lemon Crystal won best nederhash. The High Times Cannabis Cup has been held in Amsterdam for the past 25 years and is known as the most important cannabis competition in the world. Earlier this year Amsterdam was still fighting the new Dutch legislation which would introduce the weed pass, a measure that would ban tourists from the city's coffeeshops where marijuana can be smoked legally. Several weeks ago the mayor of Amsterdam announced that the weed pass would not be implemented in Amsterdam, so the High Times Cannabis Cup will continue to flourish in the years ahead. About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
