  1. High together, I want to welcome you to my Autoflowering Grow Journal. After my White Widow (GHSC) harvest and drying procedure I put 3 Kalashnikova Auto seeds to germinate. Today the 3 seeds where put in soil, after germinating them with the Greenhouse method. (soak for 24h, then put on wet toiletpaper for 24h) The top of the pots where covered with plastic foil to create a humid enviroment. (initial root lengths when planted: about 4mm) The first medium I am using for my seeds is a premixed soil mix with perlite and low nutrition made by "ASB GREENWORLD". [N:150-500 mg/L,P2O5: 40-300 mg/L, K2O: 50-400 mg/L] My Kalashnikovas will recieve Greenhouse Powder Feeding when first growing stage is over (i guess in about 3 weeks) Everybody starts their Journals with some nice pics, right now I havent got any but will ad them soon when the babys sprout. All of us just have to be a bit patient untill we can see our babys.
  2. So I'm using ghsc powder feeding in soil and really liking the powder feeding so far. Plant look really health and no nute burn, which is normally my problem. The other day I thought I should check my runoff ec to see if I needed to feed more or less. The ec was off the scale that my meter can read! So now I am worried! The plants are about a foot tall and I am just about to switch into flower. Any help would be really appreciated
  3. Hello Community! I thought I post a few Updates to my grows I will have this year. I work with the following System: Vegetation: 200x400x150cm Room 2x 110w HCI lamps 1x 96w HCI lamp 2l & 6l Pots with Gold Label "Light Mix Special" Water: EC 0.4 PH: 6.3 Flowering: 100x100x200cm "Home Box" L 400W HPS "Hammerschlag" with EVG 6.5L Pots with Gold Label "Special Light Mix Fertilizer: Plagron Alga "Blom" (Organic Ferilizer) Water: EC 1.3 PH: 6.0 I startet with my "Motherplants" in September, begin of Oktober i "harvestet" the first 10 Clones of my AMS Plant. They are now about 43cm tall, and will be starting their flowering period end of this week. Attached you will find Pictures of the Motherplants on Vegetationday 73 and on the second one the AMS Clones at Day 28: I will Keep updating in 6 Day periods if you have Inputs, Questions or improvements I willl be very greatfull! May the force be with you!
  4. As a few of you already know I am a new member on this forum (liking it very much already ) and a first time grower also... So this are gonna be my victories and also my failures with my first grow. The plant is a cross of some sorts, got it from a a friend as a seed, germinated it (glass of water method) and then planted in a mix. of two different peats... the two main lights that I am using are: 1x 200W 6400K CFL - veg. 1x 200W 2700K CFL - flowering... I will also help to even out the light spectrum with 4 smaller 23W CFL's (2x cold + 2x warm temp.) All of the lights are under a reflector (wing type)... Now for some pics from the start on - you can see them in my gallery here is the link: http://www.strainhun...163-my-1st-try/ With some good advise from some of you guys we overcame the sad times are now going strong... So today is a new chapter - I started this journal, got some new fertilizer (liquid one) and upgraded my lighting (aded 2 small CFL's), but first the fertilizer: The green one is for veg. and the red one for blooming... As for the addition of the two 2700K 23W CFL's: For today this will be all... Looking forward to your comments... would also very much like to hear what you think I am doing wrong and/or right Stay tuned...
  5. Day One Kalashnikova Automatic (Feminised) = Greenomatic (Ruderalis x Moroccan x White Dwarf x Low Rider) X Kalashnikova (AK-47 x White Widow) - Sounds promising. Indoor - 7 weeks flowering time with a yield up to 800gr/sqm. Can be flowered at 18 or 12 hours photoperiod. 9 weeks total crop time. Hi Strainhunters, I have got some room coming up this week under the light, so i am not going to waste it. I have gratefully received some Kalashnikova Autoflower seeds Which will be fed with Short flowering Powderfeed from start to finish. This will be my third attempt at growing autoflowers, the first time with Greenhouse Auto genetics, previously i have grown Think Differnt from Dutch Passion and Northen lights Auto from Royal Queen seeds. So will be happy to see how they compare. I will be using one of my trusty HPS 400w lights on a 12/12 light schedule.i have previously been growing them on 18/6 for two weeks then 12/12 on my previous two attempts. I am changing this time as i want to keep my electricity bills down, and if i have the light on 12/12 constantly, So I can grow a wider range of varieties, auto and feminised, all on a 12/12 schedule from start to finish. This will be my last indoor grow till August/September as I hope to start outdoors on the 1st May if spring ever arrives this year. Free light always a bonus and with a decent summer can get some good results outdoor. I will start my plants in small 2 litre pots then transplant them after a week to 10 days into 11 litre pots where they will stay for 9-10 weeks.I will fill the pots with my usual soil easymix from the local grow shop, then add clay pebbles when I come to repot them. I will start by filling the pots with soil, I will then drop the seed in a 1cm deep hole I have made, cover gently, I then give the soil a light watering with warm tap water over the seed, cover with a sprinkly of soil, mist that with tap water, I will then put them in a dark cupboard and wait patiently. i have only failed once using this method and that was my first attempt ever. So away we grow. Thanks Greenhouse
  6. I just picked up Teaming with Microbes: The Organic Gardener's Guide to the Soil Food Web, Revised Edition the other day and I can't recommend it highly enough! It is a bit soil science nerdy, but for anyone interested in learning about where soil comes from, how soil is made, the soil food web, and the abundance of life below our feet...you'll diggit!
  7. Historical stuff I first started growing marijuana about 20 years ago. I have always had an interest in gardening and farming. Growing up, my grandparents had a large garden and to this day I remember how much fun it was to work the soil with them and how good everything tasted. Over the years I've always kept house plants and, when I could, gardens outdoors. I've grown marijuana at various times over the years, none of which met with any real success. Up until almost a year ago, I was just throwing seeds out of the schwag I had on hand in some soil and hoping for the best. However, now I have successfully grown about 3 crops with various levels of success and failure. Each experience has provide a plethora new knowledge (mostly in the form of...dumbass, guess you won't be doing that again). Recently, I find my interests in sustainable living and self-reliance fueling my curiosity in landrace varieties and medicinal usages. Anyway, now on to the good stuff!! Strains and Genetics Texada TimeWarp (by BC Seed King) Hybrid: 70% Sativa / 30% Indica Flowering Time: 8 weeks Area: Indoor & Outdoor (grown indoor) Harvest: End of September Notes: Currently growing indoors. 9. Hey Guys & Girls, time for a new journal now that Spring in soon upon us. I thought I'd start off 5 x Big Bang Autos under 125cfl blue vegging light on 20/4 to give them a really good start before I put out in greenhouse to finish the flowering process. I should be able to grow them for about 4/5 weeks under the light in the loft tent before they get too big and have to go outside. I also have to get the greenhouse built, it is currently in bits up the side of my house! A month should give me time, I have to get down old plastic one and then make hard surface to put greenhouse on. Put seeds into overnight soak yesterday and will leave till tomorrow then they will go in Root Riot germination cubes and straight into soil, probably 20cms pots to start. That's it for now, day one should be Saturday. Toaor
  10. hey guys, i received my free package from the greenhouse, for the auto flowering world cup. and going to start my journal today. here are some pics from the goodies i received from greenhouse and some pics of the start of my first auto strain ever.
  11. I have seen many different responses to questions on ph of coco some say u treat it like hydroponic and some say to treat it like soil. From what i know its closer to hydro. but what if there is amendments? after all alot of potting soil is just coco with some amendments, some are peat based and some a both none of them are actually soil. or things like bat guano, teas, greensand, gypsum/lime, epsom salts, humus, kelp, sea based products, fish emulsion, or just organic liquid nutrients, Are these things going to affect the ideal ph?. Does the medium have to be completely inert to be treated as hydroponic or are there some exceptions but not all? if the medium has to be inert then would things like teas change that. OR can only specifically hydroponic nutes be used to be treated as hydroponic? I under stand that there is not one ideal PH IN veg you want a lower ph then in flowering and with longer flowering plants the PH will be even higher before harvest I understand PH for hydroponic and soil but i think alot of the people giving PH info don't really under stand that pottng soils are actually a soilless mix and some completely coco based. possibly things like compost could define a soil because there is general alot of bugs and organisms in compost as well as humus. IF anyone Has any input id greatly appreciate it, basically what i really neeed to understand is what draws the line between soil and hydro is it just the introduction organic amendments?

  16. After much anticipation I have got my hands on some Greenhouse seeds. A surprise from the wife when she visited Amsterdam for the day , as was the 2 g of bubblegum. SWEET. I planted them 2-3 weeks ago and they are doing very well so far. I have just cropped the Great White Shark and the Trainwreck as they are growing a little quicker than the lemon Skunk and the Cheese. As this is my 5th grow i wanted to go for shorter, bushier plants. After experimenting with my second and third crops, i felt 3rd or 4th internode was the best policy, although do intend to crop again before flowering. The shorter outdoor one I have due to finish soon (weather permitting) smell much better than the two taller one's. I germinated them by carefully cracking off the colour code coating, soaked them in warm water (5 mins) then planted them individually in 500ml pots, (soil purchased from local growshop, premixed with worm poo, twigs perlite). They took between 48 and 72 hours to appear, they then went in a mini greenhouse in the back garden for a week while my Dutch Passion Blueberry finished ( hermid in the last week tempramental ladies, so chopped a week early). After a week in the garden they have had 2 weeks under the 400 hps light 18/6 cycle. See pictures taken in the last hour. In the last week they have been lapping up Hesi TNT and Super Vit. See you in a week hopefully. Just say No to the Wietpas !

  19. Hey everyone, in the latest of times ive finally started germinating 2 Caboose's! They will be grown in soil! 8 Feb Germination started, Little general info: Both seeds germinated in less then 30hours. Powder feeding started -/-. Technique used; I am using acouple of cotton pad's, keeping them in a pitch-dark box with a humidifier on the left and a heating-element to the right, with the lid ontop of the box semi-open for letting fresh oxygen and a fine fog from the humid'r down & in. Condititions; For the first 8hours of germination i had 26°C (78,8F) & 99% RH, i later changed this to 23°C (73,4F) & 75%-85% RH. I'm keeping such a low temp since seeds are indica. Keeping them moist & a steady eye. Setup i will use for propogating & vegg'in is my 200W CFL & a little Vents-100 fan. The setup i am using for flowering is a 400w hps at the moment, hoping to get another one before week 4 flowering. Mylar on the walls. I have prepared a container for their seedling stage, it is a small pot made out of mainly peat, i have some positive experience from it, but i've done alittle experiment this time; I first made a very "airy" mix with only the smallest hydroton pellets, a soil already containing "mini-clay-peb" & some vermiculite. I put the mix in theese peat-containers, i dig out the middle of the mix, putting only soil i the middle of the container, then i water it heavy, like flush them. GreenHouse powder feeding all the way! My other Caboose, you can find it here! Peace!
  20. Ok next one. my other projekt is nearly complete and the growroom is ready for the next ones. this time i have 3x kalashnikova and 1 el nino that i want to scrog. the setup: Growbox S silver (80x80x160) MH 250W for vegi and HPS 250W for bloom both in a cool tube smart pots 15 liter medium is plagron growmix mixed with canna coco to get a fluffy strucktur just like the soil from biocanna. this time i will use the rest of my biocanna fertilizers for veg and bloom, advanced natural power root stimmulator, biocanna bioboost, pk13/14 and mykos. I started three weeks ago with the germination. went good, then put them in soil filled peat hats. then when the first root peaked out at the bottom i put them in larger pots. there they are up until now. oh i forgot, cause my grow tend is full, i raise them under 2x 36w energy saver t-5 lamps till they travel under the sun. thats it for now. till next time
  21. Hello everyone! I promised that i will inform you about my first try to scrog some plants, so here i am. with the infos i got from lamsbread ( see here ) and other sources of information i think i have enough info to start this. first the setup: Growbox S silver (80x80x160) MH 250W for vegi and HPS 250W for bloom both in a cool tube 4 pots with 9.5L medium is soil ( biocanna) i fertilize with the biocanna produkts ( cause i prefer the bio way of growing) here i must make the confession that my plants are not form greenhouse seeds, but they will next time. let me introduce to you the wonderfull HEAVEN (it`s a rare plant from switzerland, when somebody wants more info just pm) they are now in the 4th week of growth. sorry for no pictures before. i will continue my report and post every week or two. hope you like it.
  22. Hi Hunters! So while waiting to join the cup i decided to make a "mini" grow. I plant 2 Super Critical Auto's under 400W HPS on 18/6 on/off.(mm.. 200w each) Changed to 16/8. Ty HC01! Status: Growing/Blooming. (last edited 3/12) Started 5/11 Day: 29 [100% germination rate] _____ The soil i'll be using consist of: (Starting EC is 1~. PH:6~) 45% "Bright" -Sphagnum moss peat. (http://en.wikipedia....i/Sphagnum_moss) 45% "Dark" -Sphagnum moss peat. 5% -Sand. 5% Bark mulch (grinded pretty fine, looks like coco) Mixed this with alittle Hydroton(clayball)* and Vermiculite.(i put rougly 1 part verm/5 parts soil) *=Also on bot & top. (" Decayed, compacted sphagnum moss has the name of peat or peat moss. This is used as a soil conditioner which increases the soil's capacity to hold water and nutrients by increasing capillary forces and cation exchange capacity. This is often necessary when dealing with very sandy soil, or plants that need increased or steady moisture content to flourish. A distinction is sometimes made between sphagnum moss, the live moss growing on top of a peat bog, and 'sphagnum peat moss' (North American usage) or 'sphagnum peat' (British usage), the latter being the decaying matter underneath ") ________ The nutrient i'm using: Greenhouse Powder Feeding "mostly indica".(4Free on the cup) Started lightly day 11, with around 0.1g~/L. Up'd 0.3 day 14 before Dam. (50%feeding/50%tap) 0.5g/L day 18/19. Flush atm. ________ And my pot's for my pot: 3,6L > 11L. (made 14/11) Handwatering. Peace.
  23. hy guys as the title says, that´s my question. i use Biocanna terra soil and the same fertilizer produkts. i also read franco´s article about flushing but that doesn´t answered my question. so is it useful if i flush my plants with that setup or not? thanks for answeres
  24. Just thought i'd share my 1st grow of greenhouse seed line. Down the left or the BK right side is Superbud all 4 week from seed. 1 didn't split & 2 was a runt so there's 7 in now. There in 11l pots with vita soil 2 x 600w, 1 4inch rvk 400cfm, 1 rvk 6inch 800cfm, 1 18inch fan fastend to wall. got a couple of runts as well. Nuttrients. Advanced Nutrients seni grow/bloom & a bit of bcuzz root stimulator. also just had my powder grow nuts delivered For next time though. The pics are from seedlings up to today! which is 13 days flower.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
