  1. landrace

One of Indonesia's original cannabis strain. This is what i found in South of Sumatra, Lampung, couple years ago. Smell fresh, taste light and energizing. All we need is cannabis regulation not prohibition. Imagine how Indonesian citizen could benefit from this multi-functional plant; food, clothing, house, medicine, etc. When u see the light, stand up for ur right!
  2. Hi everyone, So, after introducing myself, this will be my first ''official'' post. First of all a background: I acquired 2 Liberty Haze seeds and 2 Purple Kush seeds. I assembled a secret jardin grow room (2 feed large x 3 feet tall) and I purchased the 100w light equipment. After some weeks, when the plants were already popping out, I was submited to surgery and hospitalized. Case to say I'm still recovering but 3 plants died. Miraculously, one LH was still alive and kicking despite her state. I managed to focus all my attention on her. She entered vegetative stage in the beginnings of December. A few days ago I decided to use the space that I have, since that I only have just one vase there, so I went to a store and upgraded the lights to 400w in order to have more yield which was what I intended in the beginning. What happened is that as soon as I did this, the usual stable atmosphere of 25ºC/45% switched to +30ºC/30% or less humidity. I do not have a humidifier here, only a dehumidifier, so the only things I have been doing is sprinkling water on the walls of the tent which grant me some 45% of humidity for some hours, or I heat a pot with water and put inside for a few minutes. I already managed to lower the temperature to what it was when I used the previous light system by purchasing a new fan but what should I do now? In only one night 4 big leaves of my baby already got some scary yellow marks (totally different that in the picture I'm showing you). Should I buy a dehumidifier? Did I stress my plant to much? Should I switch to the 100w lights again and just stick to less yield this time?
  3. como estan hace poco me dieron estos cogollos de regalo me dijeron que es una sativa muy buena pero no me dijeron su nombre tiene un aroma muy citrico y fuerte de antemano gracias
  4. Hello Everybody, Great to be here, big fan of the Strain Hunters and the philosophy of protecting the indigenous growers around the world. I'm from Toronto and hold my MMPR licence which is Canada's federal medical marijuana program (Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations) This not only allows me to consume cannabis without fear of prosecution, I can also grow it as well. So here I am ready to learn as much as I can and I'll try to post as many pictures as I can. Cheers!! SkyPilot
  5. Hi everyone I am a first time grower in SA and planted around end August start of October 2015. I am at 150 days of vegetative growth and now first signs of flowering have appeared this week I have a few photo updates on veg state 2 weeks ago and currently. This is from 2 weeks ago: First image is two of the first planted one has purple stem and started signs of flowering first, the other is same size and looking healthy. The rectangular pot is all the seeds found in some Red Swazi about 20 plants growing together all sprouted by mistake and I am going with it! Last pot is planted at end October Sour Diesel which has shot up as tall as my marijuana forest in 2 months. I will take current plat photos and post today. Others are photos of purple stem (don't know strain :/) and some of other. I keep them on the chairs because there are tiny green grasshoppers that love my bud leaves they look juicy don't they! Previously during flowering stage used Seagro plant nutrients very Eco friendly and Organic seaweed base NPK and micro nutes. I ran out of this and purchased more today had 200ml and used 5ml per liter every 36 hours. I like this fert because it even states it doesn't burn plant if mixed over ratio. Also got some guano organic fertilizer tea which smells like hydrogen sulphide (egg-fart) mixing 15ml per 1liter bi-daily 48hours. Been working hard only ladies, let me know how I am doing and open for comments and suggestions. Was thinking about force flowering at this stage with a perforated black shadow net?

  7. Well, after an unexpected hiatus I'm back and growing again! During my downtime, I've read more on organic and biodynamic gardening and gone much farther down the rabbit hole. My soil mix hasn't changed nor has my compost tea recipe. I have however, stumbled across a new area of study, biodynamic gardening. Most of you are probably more familiar with the term gardening by the moon. Biodynamic gardening takes this a step further by accounting for the not only the lunar phase, but also the lunar sign. Yea, yea I know...that's some real hippy shit right there. But before you blow it off, just know that it's not about mysticism or how to plant, but about when to plant. It's like a scheduling guideline. I'm still a relative newbie in my understanding, but the basic premise is that the gravitational pull of the Moon exerts a measurable force (a.k.a. gravity) on water on Earth and to a lesser degree so do the planets. The Moon's pull increases and decreases as it passes through the four phases (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter) and as it passes through each phase it also spends approximately 2.5 days in each sign. You beginning to get the scheduling idea yet? Anyway, each sign of the zodiac is associated with a given element (fire, earth, water, air) and each element is better for certain types of garden activities. For example, Cancer is water sign and is the most fertile of all the signs. During 1st or 2nd quarter (waxing / increasing) when the Moon is in Cancer is said to be the best time to sow seeds or transplant plants that produce their fruits or vegetables above ground. While cultivating, pulling weeds, applying organic fertilizers, planting root crops, etc is said to be best done during the 3rd or 4th quarter (waning / decreasing) when the Moon is in a dry or barren sign like Taurus. Anyway, enough of that hippy shit and on to the good stuff... After approximately 12 days of growth, I transplanted them to 3" containers and left them under the T5's on a 16:8 light cycle for another 10 - 12 days. At which time I moved them to my grow tent (7'x7'x7') under a 1000W Hortilux Metal Halide light and am keeping them on a 16:8 light cycle. 8. Hi Everybody, I'm doing my annual grow outdoors organically here in the UK, and now I am a member of this forum I can share some of the stages with you up to date. I found this seed in the top of an old grinder that I found in the cupboard, so I really didn't have a clue what kind of genetics it was, but I'm sure I would have kept it in there if it was a really nice smoke, when i get them I usually chuck them. I germinated the seed back in July just to give it a shot and see how it went as i hadn't purchased any seeds like I usually do. So i potted the seed into some nice soil, and a few days later it emerged out the top, with the seed case still intact around it which I thought was a bit odd. It started to sprout up nicely and was looking healthy. After a good few weeks it began to look rather Sativa like, and about two months later started to shoot white pistils so it was good news. And now it has really started to flower up with some nice white clumps of pistils and the leaves are starting to turn very frosty. Its got purple lines on the lower half of the plant so maybe it will have some nice purple nuggets forming. I'm rather excited to see what this one turns out like! I'm suprised, it looks like a hot climate plant and the UK certainly isn't the best for that. I hope that it will finish flowering at the end of October/Start of November, so my fingers are crossed for the next few weeks. Sorry some of the pictures are in Thumbnail form, don't know what went on there. I'll ad some more pictures up over the course of the next few weeks.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
