  1. Hello to the Strain Hunters and Green House Seed Co. Crew ! I am very excited to be back again this year! Last year I had a post covering my techniques with a landrace sativa that I found in the mountains of Sonora Mexico. This round will be some great genetics from the Green House Seed Co. Team! Thank you guys and gals for all the stoke! And to Franco, always keeping you in our hearts and minds and sending smoke signals to you my brother where ever that may be! Your are truly missed and never forgotten! Respect! This is going to be a journal started up with a beautiful strain from GHSC, the Caboose! This wonderful lady is a cross between Trainwreck and Salmon Creek Big Bud. Very excited to be growing this out for all to enjoy and maybe even see something new and kewl that you have not seen yet. My techniques are a bit unique and deliver results above and beyond many other applications and techniques that I have come across and studied in the past. There are many ways of doings things..... And this is how I do mine...... I will be starting two Caboose seeds this round with preparation for 7 other strains to come into effect shortly. One seed will be germinated 3 days after the first. Germination process was simply popping the seeds in a small glass of RO water for a few hours and observe their progress of water absorption. At which point I transfer them to damp paper towels *organic* with a mild honey/water mixture for extra root vigor from the sugars it comes in contact with as well as the great antibacterial effects of the honey which play a great role in my several techniques I use from germination to cloning to extra natural flower booster. After 7 hours in the paper towel, the first seed popped revealing a solid white root tip getting ready to transfer to an organic soil medium I mix in-house from the prior years compost and add some pea gravel and perlite to the mix. 36 hours later, she came to be! Coming in at day 4 and this lady is looking solid! It it looking like she may be more on the Big Bud side more so than the Trainwreck from her quick upward growth and vigor! Very excited to see this lady perform! I also popped the other Caboose seed and just planted her into her medium. She will be started in a mixture of banana leaves, grass clippings, pea gravel, lava rock, perlite and sand using organic compost teas to start. After she is up to day 14 she will be transitioned into her hydroponic ebb and flow system using General Hydroponics Flora Series nutrient line with my own measurements. Good times and loads of stoke! I hope you will all enjoy whats to come! Saludos! Starting off day 2 from pop this Caboose little lady is looking like she will be loving her new home! When she has developed enough over 14 days she will then be transitioned into her permanent ebb and flow system. She is starting out with organic compost teas for the first two weeks at which point after her transition she will be fed General Hydroponics Flora Series. Her older sister will be in organic soil the whole grow with only organic compost teas as her feed. Super Stoked to be able to throw this down for everyone! Saludos! This is the first seed popped coming in really vigorous on day 8! She is most definitely looking more towards her Big Bud side! Stoked on that! Organic Soil Above A few more snaps of the last few days! Really happy to be seeing this strains great genetics coming out! Banana Leaves, Grass Clippings, Pea Gravel, Volcanic Rock, Perlite and Sand below. Coming into days 6 and 10 these ladies are bringing the stoke meter to richter! Very kool and interesting strain at this point! With two seeds popped, it is looking like two phenos are coming out. One being more of the Big Bud parent and the lady in the pea gravel mixture is leaning more towards the Trainwreck parent! Good times! Saludos! Getting things ready for the ebb and flow setup for the second Caboose! She is looking a lot like the Trainwreck phenotype that I am looking for and have heard so much about! The purple Trainwreck pheno would be a great find! Saludos! Coming into days 15 and day 11. The Caboose in soil just got topped in the evening of the 14th day one hour before lights out to give her the evening hours to recoup a bit. Also------------- The Caboose sister on day 11 is showing Trainwreck mutations! Trainwreck is very well known for an extra leaf that grows on her leaves which will also great a small bud there if left to flower! This is a very exciting sign which is what I am looking for with this great strain! Thanks again to everyone at Green House Seed Co. and the Strain Hunters for allowing this grow to take place and to everyone out there interested in this magnificent species of plant! Sending you all a big box of stoke! Saludos! Very excited to keep you all up-to-date to the on goings with these two solid strains, Caboose! There are also a few photos from other grows posted on instagram for anyone interested. @multitechgrow Keep the stoke high and I will update some other shots pronto! Any comments, questions, criticism, curiosities? They are all welcomed and supported! Thank you for taking the time to see what my techniques and passion are all about!! -Multitech Update to Journal for Caboose in Organic Soil. She was topped 1 hours before lights out on day 14 from seed. She really pushed outwards and is starting to fill in from her first node where her Cotyledons are. Really looking like she is going to be a bush! Leaning very much towards the Salmon Creek Big Bud side. Exciting times! Saludos! Will update again soon with her lil' sister! She will be transferred into her ebb and flow hydroponic application this weekend and ready to blow up! Keep that scale on Richter! Saludos! -MultiTech

  4. I am new to hydroponics, I want to use only strain hunters strains ( afgooey, money maker & caboose ) but I'm wondering if anyone has any info they could give me as to the powderfeeding. Can I just plant my seeds add the water & then just powderfeeding or do I need a secondary additive? Or could I just from start to finish go all the way with short flowering powderfeeding nutrients?? Your honest & non negative feedback is appreciated. Thank you all.
  5. Hi and welcome to another Seed Test of Urban Ninja....... As my other Seedtest of the Flower Bomb Kush is sadly 3/10 i have some Space left in my Tents and i thought why not doing a 4th Run with the Caboose..... surely one of my Favorites from the new Genetics........as some of You might remember the Purple Pheno of it Well i got some Beans left and 2 of em going into this Seedtest to hopefully show You the Purple Pheno Again which is " The Lady" to search in that Strain...........Setup as usual Cupboard with 36 w Lsr for the Seedlings ....Darkroom 60 with 200 Cfl for the Veggie and the Homebox Xl in Summer Modus with only 400w..... but as i know the Caboose she vegs slow she surely will get the Full Power Again Ok here we go with the Strain Representation!!!!!! Strain : Caboose Genetcs as far as the Master told us for the World Cup Big Bud x Trainwreck. Plant Structure: Small Bushy Indica with Dense Rock hard Buds. Phenotypes: So far i discovered thru the Indoor World Cup that Caboose is a pretty Unique Growing Strain. The only two Phenotypes in diffrent Growth Structure i discovered was: Pheno #1 A real Indica type of Bush Short Internodes Broad Leaves and a Slow but Strong Growth. Pheno #2 A Hybrid that had the Look of the Old Big Bud with a it longer Internodes and thinner Leaves. Both Phenos had really dense Buds and Pheno #1 was the Lady in Purple the Babe to search.... 16.6.2013 Today i threw 2 Caboose Seeds into a Glass of Water. As usual i will let them soak over Night and then ill put them Between a Papertowel till they Crack and i see a big Tap Root...... so far here a few Closeups and the Calendar for the Seedtest.....whoever came on the idea and made it big Hugs i like that thing u can organize everything so gd seeing it everytime in front of ya by making new Update so here we go Caboose Baby
  6. Today finaly the Competition Package arrived safety over here . So i decided to get the work done cleaned the Vegi Room and now ive put 3 of the Cabooses to germinate. To my Setup: For Vegi i use a Secred Jardin Dr Street 2 60 60x60x140 cm with a 200cbm akf and a 180cbm lti. Light will be a 200w cfl from Lohuis. For Flowering i use a Homebox S Silver 80x80x160cm with a 360 cbm akf and a 345 cbm lti. Light will be a 400w Hps Phillips with Cool Tube. Medium gonna be Bio Bizz All Mix in 9l pots. Feeding gonna be the Powder Feeding Mostly Indicas Strain Caboose as i heard some Kush type of Strain(Admins Correct me if im Wrong) My run with the Autos has to finish till i can use the dr 60 so i will raise the babys the first 1,5-2 weeks in my cupboard then i will move em to the Growbox. So here the First Pics of the seeds in a Glass of Water soaking the next 12 hrs then ill put em in the Soil(Always worked gd for me). Lets leave it to Mother Earth Natural Selection over Night and i will post Tomorrow what happend Edit.... Totally forgot to write that im using the Gas Lamp Light Cycle Technique as i veg them 12-5.5-1-5.5 and flower them 10-14 (lights on/off). Also thinking to replace some of the Flower Room Eq and go with the 200cbm akf tha 180cbm lti and 250 watts of hps need to save some Energy over here.
  7. Hey everyone, in the latest of times ive finally started germinating 2 Caboose's! They will be grown in soil! 8 Feb Germination started, Little general info: Both seeds germinated in less then 30hours. Powder feeding started -/-. Technique used; I am using acouple of cotton pad's, keeping them in a pitch-dark box with a humidifier on the left and a heating-element to the right, with the lid ontop of the box semi-open for letting fresh oxygen and a fine fog from the humid'r down & in. Condititions; For the first 8hours of germination i had 26°C (78,8F) & 99% RH, i later changed this to 23°C (73,4F) & 75%-85% RH. I'm keeping such a low temp since seeds are indica. Keeping them moist & a steady eye. Setup i will use for propogating & vegg'in is my 200W CFL & a little Vents-100 fan. The setup i am using for flowering is a 400w hps at the moment, hoping to get another one before week 4 flowering. Mylar on the walls. I have prepared a container for their seedling stage, it is a small pot made out of mainly peat, i have some positive experience from it, but i've done alittle experiment this time; I first made a very "airy" mix with only the smallest hydroton pellets, a soil already containing "mini-clay-peb" & some vermiculite. I put the mix in theese peat-containers, i dig out the middle of the mix, putting only soil i the middle of the container, then i water it heavy, like flush them. GreenHouse powder feeding all the way! My other Caboose, you can find it here! Peace!

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
