Fuzzy's aquaponic challenge !

4 posts in this topic

Well !

I have to say it's not often I bow to peer preasure !

But Fuzzy got me good this time ;)

After a very long conversation on the subject of aquaponics I finally caved in !

And decided we shall have a go this coming spring ,,,,,,

So a plan starts to hatch ,,,,

Ok we just moved and have done a few things to the house ,,

A new bathroom suite for one !

Now the fish moved with us and at the moment they live in the old bath,,

What is soon to become the resovoir for the aqaponic beds,,

For the grow bed I may use an nft resovoir as they have a nice depth !

Unless I find somthing free that works the same,,

So come the start of spring I shall move the bath into the greenhouse ,,

Fish and plumbing taken care off it's time to think about the crop itself ,,

I think am going to go with autos because hey , they are small and fast ,,

That works for my climate,,

I need to get some regs and make me a batch of seed ,,

So I have enough seedlings to feed the table ,,

Any males that show on the table I will pull unless they have some nice traits or I run low on seed ,,

So that's the plan ,,,

And I'm still blaming Fuzzy ;)

He made me do it !

good luck with it my friend;

as an aside, though, when you set your system up make allowance for periods of time where the roots are not misted but just hang in the air.perhaps for short periods during the dark and light cycle, not for too long of course, but for a least a short period of time.i do believe the roots need this time where they are not totally wet, but just hang in the air slightly damp, but not dry as this will kill your plant.good luck with it.happy growing, john

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
