Getting the ball well and truly rolling for the 2017 outdoor season.

Strain

2 X Passion #1 = Dutch Passion

Growing Medium

BioBizz All Mix
Perlite

Plant Feed

Canna Start = seedling
Plant Magic Soil Grow = veg
Plant Magic Root Stimulant = veg & flowering
Plant Magic Soil Bloom = flowering

I ordered 3 Passion #1 beans and they arrived on Wednesday 10th May so I immediately placed 2 of them onto some damp kitchen roll on a saucer and placed them in a drawer to germinate.

18may-2017_passion_one_seeds_germinating.jpg

Both beans has split and tap roots were visible by Thursday evening, so on Friday afternoon I planted them in 3 inch pots in some soil for seedlings that contains no nutrients and I am keeping the soil damp giving them ten squirts of water 4 times per day and they are both thriving.

Here are a couple of photos I took this afternoon.

At the moment I have got both the Passion #1 girls in my little grow tent under a Mars II 400 LED vegging along with a Kings Kush auto.

When they get a couple more leaves I will start to give them some Canna Start to help them along the Kings Kush is definitely liking it.

Happy growing guys :D

Week 3 both the Passion #1 girls are growing well and I am feeding them a weak solution of the Canna Start which they are enjoying along with the LED light as they grow more nodes.

I noticed that their roots were peeping out of the little holes in the bottom of their pots so I repotted them both.

10th June 2017

Week 4 and both Passion #1 are growing nicely and I am still feeding them a weak solution of Canna Start and they have now grown about 6 nodes so I decided it was time to FIM them before I watered and fed them Plant Magic Soil Grow and Root Stimulant just before the light goes off.

You can really see a difference in the plants the taller gangly one is a bean from last year and the compact plant is from a new bean I bought this year I still have two beans left ready for next season I would have grown all four but the space is limited in the yard and the shed.

I also repotted both girls into bigger pots on the 6th of June because their roots were peeping out of the little holes in the bottoms of the old pots.

Week 5 both Passion #1 are doing great I am feeding them Plant Magic Soil Grow and Root Stimulant and they are enjoying it and growing nicely and now that both of the plants are getting too big for the tent and the weather has improved and we are getting lots of sunshine I have moved them both outside.

I noticed that their roots were peeping out of the holes at the bottom of their pots so I repotted both plants.

Week 6 and both of the Passion #1 sisters are growing nicely I am still feeding them Plant Magic Soil Grow and Root Stimulant every 2 or 3 days it depends on

how damp and humid the weather is, fortunately we have had lots of hot sunny days, and alternate feeds with just water to avoid nutrient lock out.

Week 7 both the Passion #1 girls are growing well despite the fact we have had a mix of sunny and cloudy days with showers so they have been sat in the shed to keep dry under the flourescent tubes.

Week 8 both the Passion #1 one girls are growing well on the 02nd of June I noticed that their roots were peeping out of the holes in the bottom of their pots

so I repotted them into 14 litre rubble buckets and fed and watered them and since then they can continued to grow nicely I am well pleased with their

progress so far.

14th July 2017

Week 9 and both of the Passion #1 girls are doing great the growth rate is amazing I think they have built enough structure now so tomorrow on the 15th of

June I will start to manipulate their photoperiod and reduce it to 14 and a 1/2 hours per day which is the day length on the 21st of August, in order to trick

them into flowering and get a head start on when they would normally start flowering by a month.

22nd July 2017

Week 10 both the Passion #1 girls are growing well and I am really pleased with their progress so far they are so vigorous and I can now clearly see from the

point where I FIMed each plant all of the new nodes on the main stalk are staggered and the nodes on the rest of the stalks, which shows the apical tendency

has been broken in both plants.

25th July 2017

Week 11 and both Passion #1 girls are doing great last Friday 21st July as I was watering and feeding them both I noticed that I could see the roots through the sides of the pots.

On Monday 24th July I nipped to a local hydroponics store and got a new bag of dirt and some Canna Rhizotonic root stimulant unfortunately they did not have any Plant Magic Root Stimulant in stock, so that I was ready to repot both plants the following evening when they would be ready for a drink.

The following day I bought 2 new larger rubble buckets then I repotted both plants in the new rubble buckets I gave them both 2 litres of water containing just Canna Rhizotonic, I had fed them 3 days before.

I also noticed that both plants are definitely flowering I can see lots of pistles on the top of the gangly plant more so than the compact one.

Hey Cannabissapean thanks for the kind words inner luv for that.

Yeah they are both definitely flowering now, the compact plant is a few of days behind the gangly one which is more vigorous growth wise.

With regards to the shed being light proof, no, not 100% there are quite a few leaks, but it works I started to manipulate the photoperiod on the 15th July.

In order to trick them into flowering, you need to find out what the day length will be in your location on the 21st August which for me here on the Fylde coast in the UK it is  14 and a 1/2 hours, the 21st of August is when they normally start to flower due to the day length.

Thanks and praises to Gordon for this tip how to trick a plant into flowering and this link https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/

So when my alarm goes off at 6.30am I go outside to the shed if it is raining I switch on the two 4 foot flourescent lights, if it is dry I drag them outside into the back yard,  then 14 and a 1/2 hours later at 9pm I either drag them back in the shed or just switch off the lights and lock up for the night.

End of week 12 and start of week 13 both of the Passion #1 plants are doing great and I am well pleased with their progress so far.

I watered them both and fed them with Plant Magic Soil Bloom and Canna Rhizotonic root stimulant on Friday 29th July and tonight I sprayed them both with Trounce bug  spray, so far I havent had any bug problems by simply keeping the grow area clean and tidy.

Here are some images I took yesterday.

End of week 16 and both of the Passion #1 plants are growing well and building lots of bud.

On the whole the weather has not been too bad and we have been getting more sun than rain, usually a day or two of sunshine then a day with showers or heavy rain all day, on these days I keep both plants in the shed under the flourescent lights with a large fan moving the air around.

Here are some images I took today.

The aroma from the bud on the stalky plant is definitely strong when you sniff the bud it is almost cheesey and quite overpowering, but if you touch the bud and then sniff your fingers you can appreciate the depth of the aroma and it is not as pungent, yet the aroma on the compact plant is not as strong, but it does seem to be getting stronger and I am well happy with both plants so far.

More updates to follow, happy growing guys.

The bud at the tops of both plants is pretty dense so when they are in the shed I have a large fan moving the air around in there.

And I am making sure they don't get rained on too, I really don't want them to get bud rot at this point in the proceedings.

I found two caterpillars on the compact leafy plant the other day so squashed them and then I sprayed them both with Trounce bug spray and really misted all of the bud to kill any bugs trying to set up home on me collie.

I think the stalky plant will be ready to harvest first then the compact leafy plant, it is a lot easier to keep an eye on the stalky plant than the leafy one when looking at the foliage checking for bugs thats for sure.

Hi Cannabissapen, yes Trounce is a natural organic pesticide the information states it can be used even the day before harvest safely.

You can find info about Trounce here on their web site http://www.growthtechnology.com/product/trounce/

It cost dear at £25 for 500ml or half a litre, but you create a solution with 50ml per litre so it goes a long way.

I have been keeping on top of keeping the back yard clean and tidy especially where my plants are, our neighbour has a holly bush and a lorel tree that are constantly sheding leaves so I keep my eye on this and clean them up so that ants can use the leaf litter to farm those beeny flies that make a sugary sap the ants love to eat.

There is a hole at the bottom of the wall behind the shed which the ants have used and one near the front corner of the shed between paving slabs and I have poured water down the holes and none organic pesticides down them in the past, but they always came back, I sprays some Trounce into each hole 2 weeks ago and no ants since.

I think keeping the garden clean is the main thing I have only had to spray the plants two or three times because I spotted a few flies and the caterpillars the other day, the plants are only a couple of weeks off harvest now so hopefully I won't any more pest problems.
