Can anyone tell me what the name Landrace means in the world of ranchers and farmers?

It is basically a very old local heirloom or a wild growing variety in the area that has adapted to the local climate and conditions. There is some ambiguity to the term as there are no clear cut definitions of what animal or plant is a true landrace

That's right, it's well defined :)

It is a local, autochthonous variety that has adapted to the climate and the environment for many years. For the most foodies, we love to taste autochthonous varieties (landraces)

Regards!
