ShaggyGrower
Erm, is that what I think it is, ie, has my plant hermied?
ShaggyGrower
A bit of researching and yes, that's a male sex organ. One does not mean the whole plant has hermied apparently. Can't do much about it now, half way through flowering with no spare tents/space, so I've cut it out, prowled around for a bit looking for others but seeing none, and I'll be keeping and even closer beady eye on them from now on! And it was all going so well ....
OG.Naj
Hello Shaggy, This is quite common to see a banana or two in the heads but no worries to have ;-) Have a nice grow dude
9DRAGONS
yep hermie, but it quite possible a non viable male flower, some times you get it from to much heat or some randon stress, yes the plant is prone, some are more, if it in the singular male flower keep an eye on it, even pull it if you plan to grow again from cutting, take note of condtion and monitor in the next grow
ShaggyGrower
Thanks @OG.Naj and @9DRAGONS, Thanks for the reassurance. It's my first banana and caused panic. Anyhoo, big second defoliation of the remaining fan leafs yesterday, and now there is lots of light getting down to bud sites. It's all very sparkly in there, but I would like the buds to get bigger (obviously -lol). I make it 4-5 weeks to go (Day 37 of flowering), so take off the last two weeks where I'll be flushing, so I have three feedings left (about once a week) and perhaps only two as they are drinking more slowly. Now, I've ran out of Bloom nutes. I have Grow nutes (6-2-4) and PK (9 phosphorous, 18 potassium, 5.1 Sulphur) and Potassium Silicate (6%). Am thinking of giving a 25% Grow (for a little N) 50% PK and 25% PS mix in an EC 1.2 solution. Do you guys have any thoughts/advice?
ShaggyGrower
SS coming out of what I think was a Cal deficiency & lockout which resulted in very slow growth. (I suspect the others to a lesser degree as well). I suspect when I was flushing a lot, I flushed out all the calcium by accident when trying to get the ppm run off lower. I was using rain water and forgot about the cal in tap water. Hope you can make out the crispy ends then brownish band then green where the leaf is recovering (looks like banding). Anyhoo, they're all a-growing again in the bud area, so back on track. Wonder if this means harvest date is delayed. Atm I think it does. Trichomes mostly clear with some cloudy which is a surprise as I thought having not budged for a while they'd have started to turn already. Below is DD Below is Ice Cream (x2) Happy Growing!

I use my Finepix HS20EXR for pics mostly, sometimes my phone, and the trichome pic was the USB endoscope. I use the zoom as well as take in 8Mb pics which I can then crop while still keeping good resolution. Sometimes by hand, sometimes with the tripod & shutter cable with fans turned off. I try to post with as much resolution as the uploader can handle, so readers can click the 'full size' button and really see in detail. That help? Nebula 60% Sativa. Ice Cream 60% Indica. Sensi Star 90% Indica. JW is 30cm taller than the rest. The ONLY difference between Jacky White and the rest was "JW has joined DD & Nebula in big 46 litre pots. I ran out of Coco Pro and Tropic Bat Mix so used some Coco Pro and some Micacle Gro (& Perlite).". So, Miracle Grow causes stretching? I'm leaning that way. If so, something handy to know for usually short bushy plants, to give them a little height maybe. Might stick some in one of the WR for a test ;-). ShaggyGrower
So I begin the final two weeks stage. Wet weight is ~21kg and dry ~ 11kg, so I'm going to feed an EC of 1.0 made up of 0.250 of rain run off water with a little added calmag, and EC0.75 of Shogun Dragon Force [1] and add a days worth of slurpings (~1.3/0.6l depending on plant) for 5 days. Notes: 08/0/2018 - Day 52 of flowering. Just indoor waterbutt water (EC 0.252) and Dragon force to bring it up to EC 1.0 (500ppm) DD 13.8kg 2.4l 6.32ph 488ppm 23.2c 0ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 16.2kg wet - OK Nebula 13.9kg 1.9l 6.32ph 488ppm 23.2c 0ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 15.8kg wet - OK JW 14.1kg 2.1l 6.32ph 488ppm 23.2c 0ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 16.2kg wet - OK IC 15.2kg l ph ppm c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 15.2kg wet - OK SS 13.8kg 1l 6.32ph 488ppm 23.2c 0ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 14.8kg wet - OK [1] - "Providing a final and decisive boost to your plants before harvest, SHOGUN Dragon Force is an expertly formulated final flowering feed designed to be used in the final two weeks before harvest." ShaggyGrower
10/02/2018 Last day Dragon Force for Nebula & DD DD 12.6kg 1.4l 6.25ph 2480ppm 24.2c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 14.0kg wet - OK Day 5 of Dragon Nebula 13.4kg 0.6l 6.25ph 2480ppm 24.2c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 14.0kg wet - OK Day 5 of Dragon JW 13.9kg 1.1l 6.25ph 2480ppm 24.2c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 15.0kg wet - OK Day 3 of Dragon IC 13.4kg 0.6l 6.25ph 2480ppm 24.2c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 14.0kg wet - OK Day 0 of Dragon SS 12.7kg 1.2l 6.25ph 2480ppm 24.2c ml-12%HP in, ph ppm c l out 13.7kg wet - OK Day 1 of Dragon M 3.7kg (3.6kg is base dry weight just out of the bag, so perhaps 3.5kg is realy dry weight) 3 3.7kg (3.6kg is base dry weight) 5 800g It's day 5 of 5 for the use of Dragon Force with DD & Nebula. When they get very dry (10-11kg, ~2-3 days), I shall be leaching/flushing with ~30l for each pot (a pot holds ~ 10l of liquid, so a x3 flush). When dry again, it's just 125ppm of rain water with a little calmag. Still deciding whether to do anything special at the end such as cold/ice water mega flushes, 48 hours of darkness, etc. Not feeding/watering as I used to, ie, to get run off. Just giving a litre or so from near the bottom of the weigh range so they're pretty dry when they receive the ~EC1.0 of nutes and slurp them up (hopefully). The nearer I get to harvest, well, deciding when it's two weeks to go, the more nervous I get - not wanting to harvest too early. ShaggyGrower
Harvested a stem of Ice Cream and did a light wet trim (yes @slimjim, much easier than when dry). IC has three pairs of side shoots, all the others have four. This is one of the stems from the bottom pair. 34.55g wet with stalk, trimmed (not including plastic tray obviously). Will be interesting to see what the buds vs stalks weigh dried: Bud shot (Gave it a squeeze and there was VERY LITTLE GIVE. I'm thinking that is a good thing. My last grow was a little airy. These are like rocks, and I get where the name 'nugget' came from now.: Improvised drying area (a bit of broken-stem Nebula at the back): Happy Growing & Smoking!

I've taken of their cotyledons (crispy anyway), their first single leaf & side shoot, and their first three leaf. The lowest item left on them are side shoots (which are going great) that went with the removed three-leaf. I've taken the first three-fingered leaves off the side shoots as well. I've LST'd those side shoots as well on DD & Nebula. Early I know to trim, but they seem mega healthy so I figure they can take it. bonjour, bien vu les fils de fer je vais faire sa aussi
