Plants per Square Meter?

7 posts in this topic

I have a space that is 0.8 square meters. I'm using a 600W HPS. How many plants should I put on this space if I'm going for yeild....should I grow one large plant or many small plants? I'l be growing in a soiless mix, either Promix or Sunshine #4.

Also, I'l be growing sativa dominant plants, most likely, Arjan's haze 3 or Hawaiian Snow.

Thanks, Reishi

From what youve said with sativa dominant I would say one my friend in like a big ass bucket.

Another option is to put in to flower more quicker,do four and try keep them small, which I doubt youl do with a sativa dominant.

The two straines you mentioned are big girls from what ive seen,I would say do 1 in big bucket or go for more indica or a known small plant and do 4.Its up to you.

Whats the goal?big yield?

Thanks for the advice everyone. Yes, RIX, I'm going for yeild...sativa-dominant varieties work much better at treating my condition than indicas.

I guess I'm asking, all things being equal, would I get a better yeild from one large sativa or from 4 small sativas(maybe start them 12/12 from seed and use small containers)

Thanks.

I personally would advise you to grow one or 2 plants in that space.

Light more than anyhting is a limiting facter indoors, and as has been said, a 600 watt light can only produce so much bud.

but still in ideal contitions a 600 watt light can produce any where from 8 onces to a pound.

You could perhaps grow a few plants but only veg them for a short period, and this would probably(all things being equal) result in a higher yeild - a moderfied "sea of green".

It is however, a lot more work, as usually this technique uses clones and not seed plants.

I personally would only grow at the most a few plants, and as has been said a indica dominate strain such as Northern lights, white willow, white rhino etc

happy growing

john

Im also with drunkknucklehead and superbluehaze on the SOG (sea of green).

Whats your height limit?

Each straine is different when it comes to conditions so you may get a indica Dom which with work fine.

If your 100% going with the sativa dom no matter what as its your preffered smoke I think SOG is a must for you and 2 max, depending on height limit you willl need to determine what time to put in to flower

Look up SOG sea of green and see if you like the idea,if not I would really go for 1 plant and yes you certainly can get more off 1 plant then 4 depending on the size of your bucket and when you want the plant to go in to bloom as well as topping for 2 or 4 main colas.

You could do a few different straines of indica and see if you like them and again I woud sugges SOG sea of green for max yield.

What sort of height limit do you have and what oz yield are you hoping for?

Another thing,no one will bullshit you here and make you mess it up so dont think were saying do this do that and it might mess up,what you get advised on here will work and if you run in to trouble every one wil help.

Take care my friend

Hawaiian Snow is a Beast, when i first started I did one in a 3 gal Under a 600w hps and it yields great, BUT now more experienced I realize i coulda got alot more with a Much Bigger Pot... Pinching/topping/super Cropping is Required as it gets real tall and Thin naturally My Main Cola Was Like 2 1/2 ft. Taller Than The Rest Of the Side branched Giving them Much Less intense Light :( You'll also Need to Support it either way when Those buds get heavy... Especially if you grow 1 Bush

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
