autopot system what the best growing medium

8 posts in this topic

i am currently using the autopot system, using bio bizz all mix, and today one of my white rhino plants has a weak stem probably fungus, i spoke to a couple of the guys on chat this morning and they say that soil may not be the best medium for this system.

has any body ever used this system and if so what do/did you find to be a good medium.

cheers

hi my friend,

soil is not suitable for auto pots;

either have normal pots and use soil but water by hand or else use a light hydro medium such as per lite in the auto pots;

either way the auto pots are very wet;

cannabis does not like a wet medium;

or you could use a wick system with a medium such as perlite or Coco.

take care,

john

Easy Greg ,,

I think clay pebbles are the best medium for your auto pots ,,

You are doing the right thing ,,

Drain the res and let them dry out well now !

As they dry out you will see them start to pick up ,,

Then as John said water by hand ,,

If you can repot when they dry and get the autopots back even better ,,

Start the system afresh with clay and all should be good ,,

Give the sysem a realy good clean aswell even the drippers and so on ,,

There is bound to be some silt washed out of the all mix in there ,,

Syn ;)

is does say in the instructions that the best medium is soil, but then again they dont advertise the fact you might grow weed in them, lol.

here is the website to have a look at them

www.autopot.co.uk

my system is brand new so i wouldnt have thought i would have been troubled with it not being sterile

might put it on e bay

Hey ,,

I had a look at there web site ,,

Even downloaded the insruction pdf to read ,,

It's not the system I thought it was so your right clay wont work !

I was thinking aquafarm ,,,,,,

They recomend a 70% soil 30% perlite mix ,,

May be worth adding some more perlite to your allmix next time ,,

Ebay hmmmmmmmm sounding like plan ;)

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
