SWISS ALLOWED TO GROW 4 CANNABIS PLANTS

Swiss cannabis smokers will be allowed to grow four marijuana plants each (to stop them buying drugs illegally)

Cannabis smokers in Switzerland will soon be allowed to grow up to four marijuana plants each at home to stop them buying drugs on the black market.

In a bizarre twist to the new law, four people sharing a house can grow up to 16 plants - but only if each person tends to their own crop.

The deregulation of Switzerland’s already lax cannabis laws has been agreed by four neighbouring regions in the French-speaking part of the Alpine country.

A spokesman for the Neuchatel region said: ’We have agreed these new rules to prevent drugs tourism between regions where the rules are different, and to stop them buying it on the streets.

’But one person can not start growing more than four plants just by claiming they live with other people.

’In this case, these other people have to actually be cultivating the plants themselves.

Strange strategy: Four people sharing a house will be able to grow 16 plants between them, providing each can prove they are cultivating their own crop

’This means attending to the plant in such a way as to make it grow.’

Swiss daily Le Matin quipped: ’This basically means that you can grow four more plants for every housemate you have - just as long as they know how to hold a watering can.’

The rules will apply in the cantons of Vaud, Neuchatel, Geneva and Fribourg from January 1 next year.

Swiss is the only true democracy left. They have the right to vote about any issue in their towns and cantons directly. So that law is for one canton only, not for say Zürich, Bern or Basel ! Got it ?

The comment from that newspaper shows how ignorant most people are when it comes to Cannabis + it's cultivation . There is a lot more to grow good herbs than "holding a watering can"..lol

Cannabis is illegal to possess, consume or distribute. However, usually only the minimum penalty is imposed for possession and personal use, even for larger amounts. The federal council has committed to implement changes as to decriminalization of personal use and possession already in 2001, and the parliament is currently tasked to tender concrete approaches. As nothing is coming forth on a parliamentary basis, a referendum was launched in 2008, however abolished by the voters.[86][87]

As of January 1, 2012, the cantons Vaud, Neuchatel, Geneva and Fribourg have allowed the growing and cultivation of up to 4 cannabis plants per person, in an attempt to curb illegal street trafficking.[88]----WIKI

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
