what are the effects of the light cycle being longer then 24 hours?

since we've traditionally used a 24 hours cycle for our plants.

18/6 12/12 and 10/14....

has anyone tried a rolling light cycle? say 18/10? or something similar?

this one wonders the pros and cons.

i think its the 12hrs of dark that triggers flower not the amount of light. so u can add hours to the light cycle while keeping the 12hrs dark. so u could use a cycle of 14/12, 16/12 or maybe more. i changed my cycle from 12am-12pm to 12pm -12am by adding 2 hours to my day cycle for 6 days. with no adverse effects.

the diffrence is in hours of sun per week

a standerd 12/12 cycle get u

84/168 hpw

a 16/12 cycle gets u

96/168 hpw

that is like a whole extra day of sun every week. over the couse of an 8 week stain, u gain more then a weeks growth

I like that info , will it work ?

it works in theory on limited practice expressed by bozo, those willing and able to push the envelope should do so ;)

for the bold willing..there might be risks involved to the plants there might not.

24 hours of light is not recommended, darkness is necessary for certain plant processes, 20/4 max.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
