flushing five days dryÉ

6 posts in this topic

Does anyone know what the greenhouse dudes are talking about when they say say flush on day 16-21 during bloom. Whats the five days `dry` mean, does it mean plain water or no water.

Hi welcome on the forum, first just to say ^^ if you do a very very little search on the green house info thread you will see many subject about those flush ;)

But, what they mean is indeed that you have to lush 3 times between week 3 and 6 or 7 if i remember right, the answer to your question will depend of your setup.

If you grow in soil then yes it will be 5 to 7 days without watering, until your plants ask for it. if you are in hydro, i ain't a hydro grower so don't really know, but i think it is something like a day of clean water, then slow nute, but the hydro growers will tell you ^^

So the best would be to tell us a little more on your setup ;)

Have a good grow and keep us updated on your room ;)

They are talking about Hydro in the first place. Flush them with clear water in the right ph value, then wait till the water disappears, so that the roots are exposed to air- Healthy for the plant. Then you water them again and feed some nutrients. Not sure how much water is needed for soil, but probably a lot less.

65 liter for a 65 litre pot in Hydro. Not sure how much water is needed for a say 25 litre pot of soil ? Maybe 5 to 10 ?

If any GH grower could shed light in this confusing matter would be greatly appreciated.

ivankov,

I'm a hydro grower but unfortunately i have not got to flowering stage and therefore have not flushed my plants yet. From what i have learnt it means no water at all for 5 days. However, one thing i have learnt so far is that only YOU can decide what is best for your strain. Don't feed them anything, no water and keep on checking on them. See the leaves starting to go yellow and the leaves drooping, then start feeding them again. Although each plant is a clone they all will perform slightly differently so no exact method is right for your strain. It takes several growsand clippings from your mother plant to understand and get to grips with your schedule.

Look forward to hearing other hydro growers views...

Thanks for the replies guys.

I run DWC Hydro. Experienced grower.

I just didnt understand run dry, because my plants wilt without water after about 2 hours. I think they would die after a few more. But like it was suggested above, in dwc just treat like flush for a few days. So what I did last night was florakleen for an hour (clearex type of product it dissolves salts) now doing 3 days in ph corrected water. Im liking the vibe so far on this site. Had fun reading threads.

Hey guys

DWC and Soil Grower

My plants wilt too after a couple of hour no water, I think what is meant to dry out your plant for 5 days is you fill the bucket with ph correct water then wait 5 days without topping the res up dont think you need to have the buckets completly dry but the more roots are showing the mone oxygen gets to them then after boost them to a high EC (Eg 1.8 )

Hope this helps

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
