60 mil personas marcharon por la despenalización

Una multitud se manifestó en todo el país por la descriminalización de la tenencia de drogas y el cultivo de cannabis

El sábado 5 de mayo se llevó adelante la Marcha Mundial de la Marihuana en todo el país. Bajo la consigna "¡Despenalización ya! No más presos por plantar", más de 60 mil personas en 16 ciudades de Argentina exigieron el tratamiento urgente de los más de siete proyectos para reformar la actual Ley de Drogas y demandaron que se efectúen sin demoras los cambios necesarios para evitar que los usuarios y cultivadores de cannabis para consumo personal sigan siendo perseguidos penalmente. En la ciudad de Buenos Aires, cerca de las 3 de la tarde, 40.000 personas se concentraron en Plaza de Mayo para luego marchar hacia Plaza Congreso donde se realizó un acto del que participaron diversas organizaciones de usuarios y cultivadores de cannabis, diferentes asociaciones por la defensa de los derechos civiles y legisladores de distintas fuerzas políticas.

Hasta el momento se contabilizaron 8.000 personas en Córdoba, 6.000 en Rosario, 3.000 en Mendoza, 900 en Mar del Plata, 600 en La Plata, 600 en Bariloche, 500 en Neuquén, más de 400 en El Bolsón, 300 en Comodoro Rivadavia, 300 en Jujuy, más de 200 en San Juan, 200 en Tucumán, 200 en San Luis, 150 en Río Grande, 150 en La Rioja y 70 en Catamarca.

60 thousand people marched for the decriminalization

A multitude manifested all around the country for the decriminalization and possession of drugs and the cultivation of cannabis.

The Saturday 5th of May was performed the the Global Marihuana March all over the country. Under the slogan "¡Legalization now! No more prisoners for growing", more than 60.000 people in 16 different cities in Argentina demanded the urgent treatment of the more than 7 different projects of law to reform the law of drugs and demanded without delay the changes necessaries to avoid that the consumers and growers for personal use still could face legal prosecution.

In the city of Buenos Aires around 3pm., 40.000 people gathered on Plaza de Mayo to later march toward Plaza Congreso where an act of the different associations of grower and consumers and associations for the defense of the social liberties and legislators from different political parties took place.

To the present there were counted 8.000 people in Cordoba City, 6.000 in Rosario City, 3.000 in Mendoza City, 900 in Mar del Plata City, 600 in La Plata City, 600 in Bariloche City, 500 in Neuquen City, 400 in El Bolson City, 300 in Comodoro Rivadavia City, 300 in Jujuy City, more than 200 in San Juan City, 200 in Tucuman City, 200 in San Luis City, 150 in Rio Grande City, 150 in La Rioja City and 70 in Catamarca City.

very nice move from the argentina people :)

I think we have a similar thing in my country in june. I hope it will change the mind in some way in your country maybe ;)

Purpose of Strain Hunters

Our planet is home to millions of species of animal and plants with their own habitat, and each plays a unique role in the perfect design of nature. Unfortunately many species of plants and animals are victim of uncontrolled human development. The sole intent of Strain Hunters is to identify, locate and retrieve cannabis landraces that have not yet been studied, in order to give scientists and doctors the possibility to further enhance knowledge of the cannabis plant in the medicinal field.


Preservation of Landraces

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.

Cannabis should not be illegal


One of the goals of the United Nations, published years ago in official reports, was to wipe out the cannabis plant from the face of the earth by the year 2010. In reality this is far from being achieved, because man keeps using the cannabis plant for religious, medicinal and recreational purposes no matter what the law says. Most cultures cannot comprehend how a plant can be made illegal. In most people’s perception, plants and animals stand above a status of legality or illegality, they just exist in a higher design of nature that goes beyond human laws and regulations.

Nevertheless most governments of cannabis- producing countries are implementing drastic measures to destroy crops. Dangerous chemicals are sprayed over fields and over the farmers themselves in most of the third world countries, and the poorest people of the planet are the ones paying the highest price for cultivating a plant that does not kill. But in the economy of scale, where demand dictates supply, the poorest people of the planet have no choice but to cultivate cannabis as a cash crop to feed their children and send them to school. Communities that are isolated in remote areas in the poorest regions of the planet are often the keepers of very special landraces.
