SOOOO Many Strains, So Little Time...

Greetings to all my fellow green aficionados! My first post and first pics! I am a budding new grower and thought you might enjoy seeing the fruits of honest labor. Our garden is located in Northern California. We are cultivating a myriad of strains this year because, well, variety is the SPICE of LIFE. In the garden we have from GHSC seed stock, Arjan's Haze 1, Super Critical, and Moby Dick. The remaining strains are from local sources and were all clones and they include, Toxic Punch, AK47, Train Wreck, Bubble Gum, and a couple more strains whose name escape me at the moment. The soil is a dense red clay that compacts quite badly. The soil was prepped in winter and spring using a couple pickup truck loads of composted steer manure, tilled into the soil. No other preparation was done. The garden area had not been previously cultivated prior to this grow. Plants were put into the ground the first week of April through the first week of July. These pictures were taken July 11. For reference I included a couple pics with our images, both of us growers are slightly taller than 6 feet (2m). I hope you enjoy our handy work. I will post more pics as the garden grows. Feel free to post comments.

oh boy what a lovely garden you have here, you're gonna make the guys drool if you post pics like that around here :D

Those girls look very nice man, even tho you say they have a pretty bad soil, i'm sure next season you'll solve that and get even better girls ;)

Meanwhile they look perfectly healthy and have a very nice shape in general :)

thanks for sharing that garden with us, I hope we'll get to see it go until the end of bloom ;)

Have a good grow man, you and your guys ^^

Keep the pics coming ;)

Thanks for all the kind words and warm welcomes. The weather here hasn't been so welcome for the plants. HI temps. have been hovering around 105-114ºF(40-45ºC) for the past couple of weeks with more of the same forecast for at least another 7-10 days. Amazingly, the plants are handling it well, hopefully not effecting the final product quality.

Huge forest fires burning all over Cali, several have burned more than 50 sq. miles(130 sq. km). The skies here are smoke filled, horribly bad air quality right now. But, we make do with what we got. I hope to get more pics posted showing the grow from planting to current. I'll try to not to bore you all too much. ;)

It is too hot to be outside right now, so I thought I might post a few more pictures. These were all taken with cell phones but the quality is ok. My first pics in the above post were taken July 11. The first few in this post are of planting back in April. The ones after that were taken last week. If you look close you can see young flowers on many of the plants. Compare the size from a month ago with the pics above. All that extra room we had to walk around is quickly disappearing as the plant fill out with flowering blooms of luscious colas, yummm! I'm starting to get excited about the garden, anticipation is killing me.

BTW, can someone tell me, when making a post like this, if there is a way to insert text between pictures? It makes for a nice picture story when the text and pics are together.

Hey, if i'm posting too many pics, let me know. I don't want to tire anyone looking at these boring photos. :)I just previewed this post before posting. The images are in the order I wish them to be, however the uploader is reorganizing them when uploaded as it sees fit to do. I am guessing it is due to the file ID that is automatically assigned to an image when downloaded to my pc from phone and camera. I don't always download things in the chrono order I took them. You can figure out young from old.

It is very challenging posting in this forum. Many of the tools don't work as they should. When I click on the link "quote" nothing happens. I can't type text between images, and the uploader reorganizes my pictures. DRAAT! DOUBLE DRAAT! Any help is appreciated.

Franco, thanks for the props! I hope to post some flower pics soon. I need a little help identifying my GHS strains, Arjan's Haze 1, Super Critical, and Moby Dick. Seems we lost the name tags during planting. DOH!! I will try and post some good pics of these strains and maybe you can help me ID them with confidence.

Thanks to all of you for the kind props, it is really appreciated.

regards,

GG

OOOOOOH, it's starting to feel allot like Christmas...

Is it too soon to start feeling that way? This is the hardest time of year, getting through the last 90 days, some ladies won't be ready until mid-late October, some are blooming beautifully. These were taken yesterday and this morning. What a difference from just a week ago. For reference, the pvc pipe hoops are 20 foot sections, so my tallest Christmas trees are reaching over 9 feet.

Hey everybody! I hope everyone is having a very good day. I have a couple of fresh pics to share. Let me apologize up front for the poor picture quality. Camera is on the fritz, over-exposing the shots. The first is White Widow started from seed. It is about 7 feet tall and is just going into flowering stage. The second is Super Critical in full bloom.

How could I miss this topic so long ? Great garden and strains. The White Widow looks excellent, even thou thy usually don't grow that tall/large the buds are absolutely stunning. I can spot an Arjan's Haze - the light green one with the untypical leave shapes - got two of them in the garden (AH 3 ) and I don't need to hide them cause they look so different from the normal christmas tree Indicas or the other 5 fingered leaves, mainly 3 fingered leaves - These look nothing like yours thou - one is in a pot and around 4 feet, the other is in soil and between 5 to 6 feet now and still no signs of pre flowers - problem is we don't have the californian weather in central europe ...If there are is enough warm sunny days left is the question. middle of november is often already the first frost , so I hope she will start flowering fast, but probably not before the 12 / 12 day & night schedule in september...wrong strain for outdoors in this region.

Started in april, too but that makes no difference it seems.

Not that important to me anyway, your operation is way more interesting - so good luck, hope the heat & fires wil pass by without doing any harm.

Keep us updated.

Howdy all! I'm having a good day today, things are going right. I took some fresh pictures last night and this morning. I found my camera, all is right for now. Hope you enjoy. The garden is getting quite crowded. We won't be able to walk around soon. That is ok because about that time, the early birds will be going to the groomer for a clip. Oh wait, that's me. Allot of work ahead this fall.

Spent some time this morning tying up long branches and putting up more supports. We have a few more days of that business to do. It's almost, kinda overdue. Found a couple broken branches last night. Birds fly into the bigger bushes and if they light on a branch, well, they ain't so light no more.

We discovered mites on the AK47's yesterday. They were clones and probably brought them into the garden. No mites last year. I hope we can get them under control. They went unnoticed for too long and the AK's are suffering badly. I don't know how we could have overlooked it for too long. So far it is isolated to these two plants. The AK47's are far into bloom, so we don't want to spray with pesticides, never do. We have Mighty Wash, never tried it before. Anyone have any experience with it? Grow shop salesman says they use it on their garden. But, late into bloom?

Does anyone know if the GHSC strains I have (Arjan's Haze 1, Moby Dick, Super Critical) are mold and mite resistant?
