Who wants to help? Hydro question

5 posts in this topic

I'm planning on setting up a 2x4 flood table and i plan on filling it with 2.77 L (.734 gallon) containers filled with hydroton. This is my first experience with the hydroton. I plan on flooding the table and having a drain to waste set-up. What i wanna know is should i flood it multiple times a day, once a day, etc.. I already use an ebb and flow system with grodan and have steller results, so this is new to me and would like a little help. Thanks!!

Thanks tokage and yeah i use lots of airstones in my res and i use h202...it works great. On this project i am prolly gonna put air stones directly in the table all the time water, or not. I kind of had an idea of what my water schedule would be, but wanted input from someone with experience with it.

sorry but u cant drain to waste a true flood set up. cuz your flood water returns back to the tank through your pump tube. u would have to empty the rezy after every watering( huge waste of time and nutes)

as for cycle of flooding it really depends on your plant size and set up. 1-6 times a day depending on plant needs, size of pot and heat of room

man I'd suggest no flood and drain table at all from what I know... 4 hours of dry is so long.... dude swears at the hydro store 10 seconds water 60 dry... makes amazing shit happen... I have been running 40/100 seconds and i never seen such growth outa the cups they look like there gonna blow lol. although ya need a sprayer system for what Iam talkin about. not aero but damn close lol.

The first photo is of my first build.... obviously by now I know plants are bigger and better if there roots are bigger and better... so they need more room than the first rite?

The second is the photo of my new project... still just a pile of parts in the shed but atleast there all there ;)

this is just my exp... after my ghetto flood table flooded my room I build the bucket system.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
