Hi guys, thought id create a new thread on pre-harvest cleansing and determining when you should start to flush, how long etc :)

I'm sure it all comes with strain familiarity and experience but I would like to know any hints and tips you folks may have on the subject. About to begin flushing and not sure if I'm starting early or what :) it is imperative that I have clean tasting smoke. It's the whole reason I'm growing :). Sick of nute infested weed from half-assed dealers, I'm sure you understand :)

Also, read a huge post on another forum that suggests that the whole pre-harvest flush is a myth and it's how you dry and cure that determines taste, smoothness etc. That's the theory anyway.

Any thoughts? :)

I totally dig you on the nutrient infested weed friend. That's why I think Remo the Urban Grower is right in saying that the flush is important in order to insure a clean smoke with an even burn. Don't believe that the flush is just a myth I mean you can almost taste the different nuts from un flushed weed. But I do believe that cure of the week only makes the weed taste better when smoked.

yeah the way you dry makes a lot in the final product, for example my house suck in humidity level, it's very high, so my weed always take a looot of time to fully dry, and taste is a little affected by that until the moment when she dries properly and finaly starts curing.

A friend of mine as same room same strain often i share some seeds with him, and weed will almost never have the same taste, is humidity is very low in his house, weed dries in about 1 2 weeks and directly starts getting better after few days of Jars, when mine can take a month.

So anyway drying makes it too, but flushing does a lot too of course, i'm not a hydro grower so won't give you false advice but i'm sure everyone will ;)

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
