Hi John... Again thanks a lot for the info, I really appreciate your efforts as a lot of the others guys on the foroum... No worries, I think we will make those last girls recover i full... as you remember I used the 10 galon Rubermaid with 3 air stones & no mister at all, I did used a tip that I saw in a friend grow in Madrid, I did not allow the water to touch the net pots, just keep it 1/2 or 1/4 of an inch above the water; this supose to tease the roots to grow down looking for water. By doing this I was available to rescue 3 Big Bangs & 2 Crystals METH.

Big Bang Before tranfer to DWC

Big Bang 1 week after 1 week tranfer to DWC

Big Bang when iniciate flowering at 12/12, 3 weeks after the tranfer to DWC.

SOG%20fondo%202.JPG

Big Bang as they look today, both were rescue in the same way, but the one on the left is the same one that the one above named BB 1.

Big%20Bangs%20in%202%20week%20of%20flowe

When I tranfer them to the larger system that has plus the air stones the sprayers creating a very nice mist, they develop very nice.

Puting together the above experience plus the info you gave me I decided to build another 10 galon system with both, air stones & spayers(as the 20 galons ones in flowering) I'm using 10 galons Rubermaids to keep the plants close between them & also close to the lights, it has a weird shape that allow proper mist for all the plants. I'll place the new one in front of the all one & tranfer to it just the plants still in recovering process.

Big Bang 3

& the 2 Cheeses

All the other 7 girls look nice

This will be the new system:

DWC%20w%20_%20sprayers%20%26%20air%20sto

I'll up date later, thanks John...let's see if we can bring those girls fully back on track!!!!

Thanks my friend.

We'll see how they go, I'll check daily & post pictures when good or bad news happen... John, I'm betting for them to develop quicker than in the other with just airstones...let me know your thoughts my friend.

PH=5.9, EC=0.55.

They are looking better, my friend.

Ask about Bioxy, which is a mixture of benificial bugs; it is a bio oxygen supplement, in other words they produce oxygen, from the packet:

- inhibits disease.

- increases nutrient uptake.

- devours pathogen responsible for root root.

Nutrifield are poineers in the use of benificial bugs.

I do not work for the company, but I use their products and I truely believe they are the best on the market, and their customer service is next to none;

All your plants all will bloom beautifully, I am sure, once the problems are solved.

happy growing, my friend,

john

Contacted Carlos a few minutes ago:

Thank you alonso segura.

We appreciate your enquiry, and will endeavor to respond to your request as soon as possible.

Message sent:

Carlos... I'm Alonso Segura, my friend John refer me to contact you in regarding 2 different issues, 1 I'm looking for nutrients solutions for vege & flowering bufferet for Areponics for my personal grow / garden / herbs. I live in Costa Rica & since I notice the lack of products on the local market (there's just 1 local company called Ever Green, http://www.evergreencr.com/informacion_producto_in.php?id=29 I would like to bring your products in the near future, but we can start with some small amounts that I'll need & use to register at the Minister of Health, the Minister of Agriculture & the Minister of Treasure to be properly tax. All this requires time & money so we must go step by step, I own warehouses big enoght to star as well as office building, once the research & logistics are done I'll be in position to do larger imports if the market responce as I think it will. I like your products line a lot & I saw how good they do at John's garden. Besd regard's Alonso

It's been two weeks since I started at 12/12 & 5 days since I adjusted the EC to 0.85 thanks to John's wise advise, I flushed since yesterday & canged the water today (12 hour flush with adjusted PH=6.1); because there are still some leaves tips looking down I lowered the EC to 0.65. Here are some pics.

Crystal METH

CM%2012%2009%202010%201.JPG

I notice a light green color on the leaves toping each of the buds, I don't have an idea why. but only this strain has that, here a pic of a low bud:

Color%20verde%20brillante%20en%20centro%

The Melon Gum is running pretty late, it's very small, I'll say 1/4 of the size of the Big Bangs or less & I notice that's the only one that has a weird spot/thing on one of her leaves.

MG%2012%2009%202010.JPG

The PH is 6.1 & the EC=0.65, I don't know what's going on with the Melon Gum, my only SOG experience is limited because I done it only 2 times, first time with Neville's haves seeds directly placed in 12/12 & second time with white widow clones, both times went ok.

I'm not sure if I can move the melon gum back to vege since it's been only 2 weeks & the plant's probably begging to be seflaware that's summer(12/12) & replace her with another Big Bang.

Big question my friends, what to do.................??????????

hi my friend,

the shape and size of the leaf, the length of the fingers, the internode length, general branching, shape of the plant;

all these give you clues as to the which strain or phenotype it is.

happy growing,

john

the melon gum is an indica dominated plant, it has a lot of Afgani genes - my guess is that it needs a higher EC; when flowering, the ideal EC for an indica is well over 1. Use an EC of say 1.6 to 1.8.

i think this is your problem with it. also the plants use large amounts of magnesium and calcium during flowering, watch the light colored growing shorts, this could be a sign of a deficiency, but if you up your EC it should be fine, my friend,

happy growing,

john

Guest superbluehaze

are you using a flowering nutrient? if so, it may have too much nitrogen in it for flowering, and that is why the plants were showing signs of too much nitrogen.

happy growing, my friend,

john

your haze 3 would do better with more space to spread out. It is an amazing plant; it has genes from a Loas sativa, and stays really short. I have not grown it, but I will:

happy growing,

Hello people... Get back from visiting some beach sites in the pacific to find my computer wrecked by a lighting, but I'm back on track now ready to up date the post.

Certanly the SOG did not work, I'll say that's because of the several strains I used but also the males that appear on the second week created a hole that did not allowed the "green cannopy" to form.

So what I get is 5 mid size plants with a minimum spread but still they look nice. Next grow I'll do it independaly, each plant in a 5 galon bucket so they can spread nice & also to feed them according to the need of each of the strains.

Here's how it looks today.

SOG%20group%2020%2009%202010_0.JPG

The Big Bangs have a very nice dark green color

Big%20Bang%2020%2009%202010%20dark.JPG

& they're budding very nice, the flash allows to check them very well.

Big%20Bang%2020%2009%202010%20bright.JPG

From the below pic, I would say that the first one shows a El Niño pheno, still could not say about the second one.

Big%20Bang%2020%2009%202010%20top.JPG

The Arjan Haze # 3 looks very nice & green; & as the Big Bang is budding just in the center, it's a shame but at least it looks very healthy, I did wasted this plant by grow her in the SOG but what's done is done....& want to regenerated it with John's technique after harvest as well as the big bangs... we'll see...

Hi Tokage.... It will be kind of a sog since 3 plants (instead of 6) line up very nice. 2 big bangs & 1 painkiller, but the sativas did not. I'll say that those 3 plants plus the Sativas will produce/yield better if I grow them on a 5 galon bucket so I can manage them good & adjust the solution for each plant.

To give you an example the Cristal METH shows a sodium or nitrogen deficiency, but not the Arjan Haze#3 & both are in the same sistem, so all I can do is leave it as is since I do not want to have a negative effect on the Arjan Haze #3. Check out the pics:

Crystal METH & Arjan Haze #3

Crystal METH leaves showing the Sodium/nitrogen deficiency

Cristal%20METH%20shows%20a%20sodium%20de

There's no much I can do, I wreck my old PH metter & get a new one today, it's a Hanna waterproof HI 98127 - HI 98128, KIND OF DIFFICULT to calibrate, I'll do a PH & temperature test later on. The other problem I have is that I do not know how to add nitogen or sodium to the water & no accsess to aditives... we'll see

Yes Tokage that's why... Today I checked the PH & was pretty low 4.85 so I adjusted by adding water with a 7.0 PH & leave the PH at 6.1 & raise the EC=1.5. Maybe this will help the Crystal METH nitrogen deficiency.

As John indicated me above I should increase the EC since last week, but i was out on the road & my cpu was repair until monday.

Thanks a lot John, I think that the problem was between the low PH & EC, but I'll look close & meassure every day to find out why the PH was so low.

Here the all group, Sativas on the lef, indicas on the right.

Their roots look kind of yellow, hope they get better with the EC & PH adjustment.

Thanks a lot for your comment John...It's very stimulating, I checked the PH & EC today; the EC was fine 1.55 for the Indicas & 1.3 for the Sativas. The PH situation shock me, I adjusted to 6.1 on both 3 days ago & today it was down to 4.2, it's something really weird, as if the plants where adsorbing the PH elements.

John... I need your advice & comment on this matter, never happen to me in the Flood & Drain the PH needed to be adjusted in 12-15 day so I used to changed the solution. The plants look very nice, only the crystal meth shows a nitro deficiency.

Hello guys.... Today I started a 24hrs flush prior to prepare the solution so the girls can start their fourth week of flowering. Still kind of freak out about the PH issue but the girls look ok. Here some pics up to today.

I'm still stock with the PH, adjusted to 6.3 yesterday morning & today's morning it was 4.2. .

I'm getting the idea that the plants are taking down the PH, because I have another equal system with small mini plants & the PH stays very stable.

Help my friends, do not know what to do about it !!!!!!!!!

Well it's been a while since the last up date, so here we go...I was available to get a local organic & biodegradable product to deal with the fungus situation, hat a meeting with the vendors Engineer & explain the problem, he explained to me how to apply the product (0.5 cc per liter) & how it works, it was a satisfactory meeting. I apply it in 1 of the systems yesterday, prior to do so I adjusted the PH to 6.5. Checked the PH today & it was 6.46 so seems to be working. The other system I just adjusted to 6.5 & today it was at 6.2 so I apply the product to the second system too.

The girls look ok

SOG%20Group%2006%2010%202010%20%201.JPG

The Arjan Haze#3 is looking good & getting heavy so when I took her out she looked like hanging:

Buds are looking nice:

The Big bangs are looking good too:

Big%20Bang2%20%2006%2010%202010.JPG

The Crystal METH is also budding nice

CM%20Bud%2006%2010%202010%202.JPG

CM%20Bud%2006%2010%202010%202_0.JPG

The little Painkiller is budding ok, the strain is not good, they barely develop.

PK%2006%2010%202010.JPG

I keep the PH=6.5 & an EC=2.05 for the Indicas & EC=1.3 for the Sativas & I will check every day until the PH gets its balance.

They seem to be doing ok for been on the 5th week & with a fungus/PH problem... so I'm happy.

Well my friends, here's the up date of the girls in vege & in recovering, they're looking good but have the same PH problem that I have on the SOG so I'm using the same solution called Agrilife.

Here the plants of the large 25 galon system, I took the Jack Herer out to take separate pictures of her.

Group%20large%20less%20the%20JH.JPG

Above we have 1 big bang, 1 white widow, 1 Painkiller, 1 Crystal METH & 1 melon gum.

Here's the Jack Herer, she's the biggest of them all.

JH%2006%2010%202100%203.JPG

The small ones are in a 10 galon system because they're recovering or more recently planted:

The Big Bang 3 is back on track:

Big%20Bang3%2006%2010%202010.JPG

So are the Cheese 2 & 3:

Cheese%202%2006%2010%202010.JPG

Cheese%203%2006%2010%202010.JPG

As the Jack Herer

JH%20small%2006%2010%202010%201.JPG

Large plants; PH= 5.8, EC=0.95.

Small plants; PH= 5.8, EC=0.50

Both systems have the recommended dosis of Agrilife since today, I will check every day until the PH gets its balance.
