Stage 2 Germination and Preparations

Date; 29-10-12

Method of germination;

I will germinate the 5 seeds and I use the tip about germination from Green House Seed Co home page. I been having 100% germination in the past whit GHSC tip on how to germinate, so I will continuo whit this in the future. If it´s the first time you are going to grow cannabis I recommend that you read as much books and pages on internet about growing cannabis as possible. I don’t start whit hydro, my first growth was a very small auto in soil and the plant was not taller than a Pepsi bottle. I have done a lot of mistakes and errors, pre harvest many growths etc etc. So reading is a good thing, plus all the amazing friends here on the forum love to help out new growers. Now it´s time for my seeds to jump in the water.

1. Drop the seeds into the water, the seeds should be left to soak in dark at a temperature between 20-25 degree C / 67-78 degrees F

2. After 12-24 hours move the seeds onto a plate, between two layers of cotton paper.

3. If you use toilet paper use multiple plies to form a thick layer. Leave the germination plate in a closed dark space (the same drawer would be fine) and make sure to keep the layers moist by dripping some water every 6-12 hours. Do not soak them, just keep them wet.

4. Usually whit in 48-72 hours the seeds swell and split casing shell. Seeds can take up to 5-6 days to germinate, so be patient. When the white, initial root is visible at the crack in the seed casing the seed is ready to be planted. Soaking the seed after root is exposed can result in early root damage.

We got some new born girls hunters

:D. Welcome to the world my cheesey girls  ! See you in couple of days for the first Germination report!

Preparations;

While the seeds are bathing, I will prepare my whole growing space, put up the tent wipe all walls, hanging light wipe them, ventilation wipe as well, and put together a clean hydro system. Checking so everything works etc (you don’t want to germinate your seeds and then find out that your system/setup doesn’t work). Prepare ph measured water to 5,5 whit a EC of 0,5 for the jiffy pots to soak in. Then you just have to wait until the seeds cracks, then it's just to transfer the seeds in to the jiffy pots, and then the jiffy puffs into the grow box and give them good light minimum 18h a day.

Germination Week 1 report!

Date; 5-11-12

Grow box humidity; 88%

Grow box temp; 31c

Spray bottle water temp; Room temp 21c

Hours of light; 18 hours

EC; 0,5

PH; 5,5

Note/Messages;

The first week have gone by very quick. I have god news and some sad. Whit all good things comes bad lol. For the first time in over 2 years Im been testing GHSC seeds I got one seed how dont pop up from the jiffy pot, but it remain in the grow box can be a late bloomer or only lazy :lazy: . The 4 remaining seedlings are alive and well. They have stretch a bit but not brutal, all of them is more or less 4cm tall, I make my own Ph and EC measured carbonated water that I spray the seedlings whit. They really like it. At tree of the seedlings we have visible roots under the jiffy pot´s. I really love this stage of the growth, it´s happing things every day (can really see how the grow). Im thinking to make a moist bed of my new medium in side the grow box, so the roots how sprout can grow and fill good. Please enjoy the photos and ask me Q if you have some ;)!

Note/Messages;

Holy sh** the time fly´s by quick. The Seedlings are now 2 weeks old and everything is great ;). The seed how dont pop up is dead RIP! I open up the jiffy pot for a look and the seed shell was like empty. My guess is that I kill it in some sick twisted way. Anyway I got 4 beautiful seedlings left and that´s all I need for make this show going ;). You can see rots trow the jiffy pot´s on all 4 Seedlings so after this update the Seedlings will enter the hydrosystem tonight :D. The tallest seedling is now 6 cm tall and 7 cm cross over, the smallest one is only 4 cm tall and 3 cm cross over. Everyone look really good very green small fan leafs :). On 2 Seedlings we have mutant leafs on the first set but come normal on the second set. I preparer the hydrosystem whit water solution putting on air pumps letting the medium get wet so I can put in the Seedlings in there new home. So from tonight the Seedlings are getting a water solution whit a Ph of 5,5 and a EC of 1,1! I will feed only one time a day now in the beginning. More info about this next week. Im really excited now and only want to see how they turn out in this amazing environment that I have give them ;) ! Please enjoy the photo´s of all the girls plus how they enter the hydro system :D.

Stage 3 Vegetative Photoperiod

Oki doki hunters we are in the vegetative photoperiod and the 4 selected seedlings have been in the hydroponics system for a week now. Ok I dont select them, of the 5 I germinated only 4 make it to tell there story ;). The light is on 18h every day, under the first week I gave my younglings a water solution of a EC of 1,1 and a Ph of 5,5. After today I will rise the EC to 1,5 to boost them into young womans. Every week I clean my water tanks and give them new fresh water solution, I like it clean. Can be a waste of feeding to do this but I got amazing results whit this in the past. As I for the first time use rockwoll as a medium, it´s extra interesting how this is turning out. When you use rockwoll you need to get the sponges effect when you feed/water. A very good friend tell me this so whit small plants you need to feed about one´s a day and two times whit bigger plants. But whit my system I fund out that the best is to feed every 12h for 30min, like that I got the best sponge effect. Was notice that I have high temp spots close to the medium (30-31c) so the medium dry quick, this temp will go down when the plants get bigger and give shade to the medium. It´s tricky whit the new medium, well I gonna figure it out ;P. Update whit photos and plant data comes tonight. Stay tuned for more.

Peace & Smoke

Jimmy

Edit; was writing bad about the feeding I write 6h I was meaning 12h.

Note/Messages;

My seedlings have become younglings, and beautiful one´s too ;). And all this in only tree weeks. Great time´s ahead of us we have. Everything is going good except one thing and thats the humidity in my growtent. I use carbonated water in a spray bottle to make a more nicer atmosphere for my small girls. If we look how the girls develop, we can see that all except Object 2 she is behind whit almost 3cm from the rest. Object 1, 3 and 4 are looking very good to me :). Still going slow on the height growth only about 2-3cm on 7 days thats 0,28-0,42 cm a day. I think things will changes this week how come´s. Im also thinking to top all 4 plant´s. Want to wait a bit to I have 3-4 internods. And like always if you have questions it is only to ask ;). Please enjoy the photos how come below :D. See you all again next week for a new update.

Vegetative Week 3 report!

Date; 03-12-12

Room humidity; 31%, but go´s up to 60-70% whit light off.

Room temp; 27,4c and whit light off 22c

Water temp; 26c

Hours of light; 18h

EC; 1,9

PH; 5,5

Note/Messages; The week have been really crazy hunters. We went from fall to winter in a day lol, from +7 to -8 in one night amazing. So my plants have been temperature stressed a bit during one day :(. I think they will be ok and fine. Today the plants went from 18/6 to 12/12 and I switch the MH light bulbs to HPS bulbs. Yesterday it was dark all day no light at all, "read more about this in the next stage below". Back to the problem whit the temperature again, my vent system is two intake fans and one big outtake fan, whit the fans and one window open, I have made it possible to get a temperature at 27c. But now whit the winter I can not have the window open no more, so I disconnect the two intake fans and put one of them on a timer that pump in fresh air every 6th hour for 30 min and like this I have a temperature on 27c again. I raise the EC to 1,9 today as well ;). I have nothing more to say about this week except that it past by very fast like always and that Im very happy so far whit the growth. Everything are looking really good, some of the plant put on over 10cm this and the side branches are coming on very fast now. Gonna be really cool to see if I can beat my old harvest record on 464grams on same strain and setup ;), whit this new medium :D. Like always I have a lot of photos, please enjoy them.

Stage 4 Blackout

Before I switch the light to 12/12 I will let the plants be in dark for 30h and I keep the feeding running under the blackout. Why the dark period? There´s a lot of thoughts about this, some say it increase the THC levels some say it improves taste and smell and some say it push the plant to flower quicker. There is no hard facts on this at all. But I have a good experiences whit this and gonna continue whit it. So hunters be quiet because they are sleeping ZZZZzzzzz.

Peace & Smoke

Jimmy

PS; This stage can stress out some strains and make them hermis, only a friendly thought ;).

Stage 5 Flowering

The time for flowering has come and the most important stage is in action. The first thing I do is changes the MH lamps to HPS lamp so the plants get´s the right light. The plants will have shorter days whit only 11-13h of light to stimulate that that winter is on the way and the plant will start to produce flowers. It´s very important that no light enter the grow area under the dark period (light off), if you need to work whit the plants under the dark period please use a green LED light for that (Plants can´t absolve green light so you can´t stress the plants whit the green light). I as well raise the PH in flowering from 5,5 to about 6,0, as recomended on the back of the Powder Feeding bag. One more thing to think about is that when I enter the flowering stage I stop whit the spray bottle, spraying can promote mold and rot problem. And after the first week in flowering I will cut of the low branches to put more focus on the top part of the plant and to give a great air flow under the plants, and it´s easy to keep them pest away. Like I say in the beginning, to create best result is to have a clean grow area. The sex of the plants show´s normally after 1-2 week in to flowering. If I miss some info please let me know and I add it later. Now we have about 8-9 weeks of amazing time to see how the Exodus Cheese is going to grow up to full flowering bushes! Please enjoy every Monday night for great updates.

Flowering Week 1 report!

Date; 10-12-12

Room humidity; 45% go´s up to 70-75% whit light off. More info about this in "Note".

Room temp; 28,4c and 23,4c whit light off.

Water temp; 27c and 23c whit light off.

Hours of light; 12h

EC; 1,9

PH; 6,0

Note/Messages; Hunters we have done the first week of flowering and everything is looking good :D. The girls are taking the new feeding solution and light hours whit a storm ;). My self have a ruff week whit fever and a bad cold so spare whit me on the quality of the photos, was hard to concentrate whit the nippy hands ;). I have not yet cut the lower branches of the plants, gonna do that tomorrow morning when I have more energy. I raise the Ph this week to 6,0 was recommended in the back of the Powder feeding bag. Why the EC of 1,9?, this I got when I put a full spoon of feeding in 10l of water (the spoon thats follow in the bag). I have always done it in this way, whit great results. Like you guys have notis in my past week, is that I have problem whit the humidity, now I start to get a good hum in the days whit a steady 45% :D(bigger plants more hum in the room) but when the light go´s off the hum slowly raise to 70-80% and thats a bit high for me so I have put the vent system on a timer so I blow in fresh air a few times a night to keep it down a bit. And in this way it land on steady 65%. I have seen the sex on two plants this week I hope you guys can see it in some of the photos below. LOL I have so much to right and tell this week but my brain is slow whit the fever so I dont remember everything :P hehehe. Please guys if you have questions it´s only to ask ;). Please enjoy the photos and come back next Monday for a new update. Thanks for whatching :).

Note/Messages; Oboy what a week it have been. It´s been real locura at work and a lot whit my family. Not that I want to blame something, but it was a lot this week. I almost fuck up and kill my plants and my schedule. Was scared at some point last night, Im telling you! But we learn from all things how don´t kill us right. The plants bounce back very good and are right back on track, they got a bit burned whit the bone-dry moment. We have flower formation on all 4 plants it´s really good news, it have only gone by two weeks in flowering. Like you guys can understand, Im super happy that the plants make it and Im still in the game. I dont have so much more to add this time. Please enjoy the photos below and come back next week.

Note/Messages; Merry Cheesemas hunters and family. Yeah it´s holidayweek and I hope that everybody have a great Xmas. The plants are very good, but it´s like a jungle in my grow tent lol. I think it´s the last time I can take them out from my tent :(, I have already start to tie them up to the roof. So only budpics from now on :P. All 4 plants are in bloom and we have visual crystals on all 4 plants, (only in the middle region of the plant doe). Some of the plants have a real crazy uniform a bit street :D special the object 2 and 3 :). They drink good too about 20l a week now and the roots are packed in the tanks got one shot of the roots. I still got some damages on the leaf tops from the dehydration but they recover good over all. I dont have so much more to say except that this 3 weeks have goon by quick. Please enjoy the photos below and I see you guys next week.

Flowering Week 4 report

Date; 01-01-13

Room humidity; 55%

Room temp; 27,9c

Water temp; 27c

Hours of light; 12h

EC; 1,9

PH; 5,8-6,0

Note/Messages; Hey hunters. What a start of the new year hunters, we got a new baby member and full flowering in the tent, this is really amazing for me and my family. The plants have been running alone this week, as we where at the hospital. I come home some time to fill up the tanks and to take some photos of the girls. And from this week we will only see photos of the top colas and not the full plants, do I can´t take them out from the tent. I have tie them up whit a string to the roof of the tent. You guys will see them in there full shape at harvest day. As well have the plants stopt in growth so there is no information on that or internod stretch and leaf info. But thats only cool becouz we all love bud porn right. The plants are still on full EC and it looks like they love it. I think I need to go down next week on the EC to avoid some leaf burn. Please enjoy the photos.

Flowering Week 5 report!

Date; 08-01-13

Room humidity; 60%

Room temp; 28,3

Water temp; 27c

Hours of light; 12h

EC; 1,9

PH; 5,8-6,0

Note/Messages; Yes yes the plants start to look really good now, some weight start to come on the buds :). We are still at the hospital so it´s about same information as last week. The thing I have to add this week is that my humidity is going up whit 5% to 60% this week, and that the room temp is going up whit one Celsius more or less. I will go one more week whit full EC and them I will steep down whit the feeding. I was able to take photos at the same time as the light went off so you will see the colors on the leaf much more. I don´t know how to fix my filter on my camera yet lol. But Im getting there. We can see that some of the leaf´s have some nutrient burn on the tops and a bit on the side´s of the leafs. So this is the last week whit full EC. There is not so much more to add this week, the plants and the hydrosystem is running alone very good. Please enjoy the photos and if you have some questions it´s only to ask.

Room temp; 28c

Water temp; 27c

Hours of light; 11h and 30min

EC; 0,9-1,0

PH; 5,8-6,0

The light I cut down 30 min every week to harvest to push the flowers to the max. Still have a bit high humidity in the room but it´s the best I can get it. We can see some branches use the wall for support even one plant are doing the same lol. Need to buy some string ASAP. Please enjoy the photos. You have a Q it´s only to ask.

Flowering Week 8 report!

Date; 28-01-13

Room humidity; 63%

Room temp; 28c

Water temp; 27c

Hours of light; 11h

EC; 0,1

PH; 5,8-6,0

Note/Messages; Week 8 is done and we are on count down hunters. I can easy harvest today but I will go one more week to push the tricomes to the max. Everything is looking really good, Im very happy whit the flowers and I think I will have a fare harvest. The plants are on plane water now and they will be clean of feeding the day I cut them down. Remember that it´s very important to only give the plants only water the last 7-10 days of the plants life. To take a way the feeding from the plants. If you have black ash when you smoke your bud, you dont clean them good. The smell is really of the roof, I use some industrial odor control that normal been use for restaurant toilet, very strong and it kill the cheese smell. See you guys next week for a harvest update and more ;). Please enjoy the photographs.

If I can get 0,5 gram on every watt Im more then happy. The smell is really Cheesey in my home right now. Was doing the harvest this morning very early. It still smells weed in all my apartment lol. Like 12 h after :P. It´s the Cheese man ;).

I know I burn my girls a bit. And this gonna have a impact on my final yield, I guess the two weeks when I was in the hospital have a play in it too. But like I say Im very happy so far. Only time can tell me if I do a great job. Now the plants have to hang and dry for a week before I can taste it :). Please enjoy this last photos of the girls in there last moments of life :D.

Stage 6 Harvesting and Drying

Date; 04-02-13

We make it hunters!

The harvest is done and everything is hanging. And it look promising :). Total work time was about two hours. Most of the trichomes was milky but around 30% is amber and this is how I like it. There is a lot of different time windows to harvest all is up to you what you like to smoke. Many growers like to harvest when they have more amber trichomes then milky. If you harvest when the trichomes are clear and milky you will have more uplifting high (the trichomes is still only THC and no CBD. If you wait and you harvest when your trichomes are milky and amber you will get that normal high/stoned that most growers wait for.

Here is some photos about this

So here you have a small video from the harvest, sorry for the short vid but my battery die and when the camera was done so was I. But please check it out.

I use my tent for the first drying proses, go´s quick in the tent. First I trim the branches from all leaf and save that in a bag. Then I only hang them high in the tent. After a 5-10 days it´s dry to smoke, BUT some curing is not bad to do. I tend to smoke some when it´s done :P. But as well I cure some and give away some. How I know when it´s dry? check the sticks and when you hear a snappy sound it´s done ;). Here is some photos of the harvest and the scissor, and as well when the plant´s are hanging. Please enjoy and I see you all when I have a smoke report to report :D.

Stage 7 yield and smoke report

Date; 12-02-13

Well everything come around and turned up good 388 grams on total harvest (have not counted the clippings for bubble hash yet). So I miss my 0,5/W whit 12 grams. Im ok and happy whit the yield I got

:D. If I have spend more time whit the growth and dont burn them whit the feeding, I had probably reached 0.5 / W if not more. But I learn one thing whit this growth and that is that a growth never turn out how you want it ;) (ok I know there is pros :P), but Im still only a happy amateur how like to grow weed on a basic and easy way!

Now comes some photo of the dry harvest

:D!

Ok as for a smoke report right now is well not really fare (the buds have not cured yet), but I will tell you guys how it taste after a week hanging! It really taste like cheese but it have not really got that punch to it yet. Need to cure. What Im amazed about is that it has a strong taste of blueberry and a hint of lime. AMAZING

:D. Burning very lightly and gently the ash is pure white and very pleasant to smoke. No cough ;)!

I will be back in some time to give a new smoke report. Thank you all how follow me and like me work, I hope someone can have use of my journals.

Best

Smoke

And

Peace

Smoke report 2!

Date; 2013-03-11

When you light a Exodus Cheese joint you know that you smoke cannabis. There's probably no strain in the world that has such a strong smell that Exodus Cheese, you who have grown or tried Exodus Cheese knows exactly what I'm talking about. And if you're lucky like I have had been and received various phenotypes and managed to get the long one how give a blueberry taste oh oh oh I just say.

What I smoke on now is the long phenotype, and the intoxication are really energetic with a creative touch. When you inhale the smoke you get a mixed flavor of blueberry and cheese that actually works well, imagine a toasted sandwich with cheese and blueberry jam. But the blueberry flavor is the one who stands out the most with a slight citrus flavor. The aftertaste has an earthy forest flavor, think if you wake up to a hot summer morning in the forest full of pine, that smell comes as a flavor on the palate, and everything flows really well together. Exodus Cheese is a really complex with many flavors and it all depends on what phenotype you smoke and how it was grown.

I remember my first Exodus Cheese plant that I grow in soil, the smell and taste it had, has I still not been able to bring out with hydro. I am looking to run again in soil just to get the taste that I got then. You should also know that I have not smoked in a month when I do this report. The buds have now been cured for one month in a glass jar. When I break a flower in two parts, a cheesy smell spread throughout the room and the ash from the joint is pure white. I give myself a 9 of 10 in the ratings and Im really super happy with my final product.

I have said it and will say it again Exodus Cheese can easily win HTCC anytime. Now I will continue to smoke my joint and play some GTA. Big respect and thanks to Arjan, Franco, Admin and all of you members here at Strainhunters.com.

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
