Hello all! I wanted to share my experience with mary jane as a performance enhancing supplement...and I hope you all will share yours with me as well..

The medical benefits of marijuana are often talked about as well as the recreational use of her, but a subject not often mentioned is the abilty weed posseses to increase performance in physical activity!!

I have been natural bodybuilding for a few years and have come to believe that pot can help increase performance in the gym in quite a few ways.

I like to take a few tokes of a nice 70%sativa/30% indica with a coffe before the gym...this serve the purpose of my "pre-workout".. it gets me in the mood, energized, and increases my mind to muscle connection allowing for greater muslce stimulation resulting in more growth!

Also anyone that exercises daily knows that an increased caloric intake is necessary to maintain all the calories burned because of increased metabolism... this is where a strain the induces appetite can really be helpful.. I like to smoke a bowl while preparing my post workout meal consisting of protein, complex carbs, and essential fatty acids.. then i pig out...and its growing time..(in more ways than one) haha :)

Lastly recovery is the name of the game.. and to help with that a nice heavy indica to finish off a long hard day fits perfectly into my regime...

I'm sure this is a boring subject for some.. I just dislike the sterotype that pot smokers are lazy and unmotivated.. Hope you guys enjoyed my first ever started thread!! :biggrin: and if you need any suggestions on what Green House Seed's would work well... i might have some suggestions from personal experience :)

Nice post buddy , very infomative and a great topic :)

I don't consider any lifestyle topic where cannabis is shown in a possitive light to be boring.

Often Cannabis is used as a social catalyst,where enjoying smoking a joint together, relaxing, chilling and enjoying each other company is the order of the day.

Cannabis is and can be a very relaxing thing that people often choose to use it for this purpose, just kicking back and taking it easy and why not.

There is always the danger of major couchlock from heavy indicas, for a more cerebral energetic higfh stivas are better or as you mentioned, best of both worlds is with a hybrid.

I have always been an active person , riding pushbikes,enjoying hiklng across hills and mountains ,climbing trees an generally enjoying mother nature and all this whilst being stoned :D

I agree with you about some of the traditional views of cannabis use where people are often referred to as wasters, lazy and shiftless, if they are weed smoker.

These are just ignorant, sweeping generalisations, dished out by those who have limited knowledge of the subject and culture.

Too much of anything is not a good idea wether it be sitting on your arse or running up a hill, its all about knowing what you need, when you need it and how much is the right amount, the same applies to smoking weed.

A little warms the heart,too much burns the soul.

very nice thread, indeed we don't often hear people talk about that subject on cannabis :)

And it is pretty intertesting i can totaly understand you, i had some strain that i use to smoke when i knew i was going to do something physical or anything like that but never thought it actually enhenced the metabolism.

Tho i have some piece of info gotten from my cousin that was using weed medically in switzerland. Cannabis smoked with tobacco is known to have opposite effects on muscle, as where the cannabis was a relaxing product for themuscle, the tobacco will contract the muscle and so then kind of "cancel" part of the cannabis effect.

So my cousin's doctor had gave him "Damiana" to replace his tobacco which is an herbal plant that has pretty much the same effect on muscle than cannabis.

So i guess for you working really with your body perhpas you should try smoking without tobacco if you can, only 1 puff instead of 2 with tobacco, and would interesting to know the diference :D

and dust i've been considering trying out the "roll on" for a little tabocco hit... i definitley get a stimulant feeling when smoking tobacco, interesting idea

Really good topic, i think its great to keep fit and enjoy a joint, bob marley played football most days and myself i still like to jog and go boxing now and then
