Well, yesterday evening i controlled the bottom of the Grodan Delta cubes...

post-14547-0-27834200-1352723349.jpg

4 of the 10 had already showed roots, so i decided to transfer them into the next bigger rockwool.

For that, i just dip the cube in the water and push the small to the big, simple as that. I like the cubes and use them always, never saw some overwaterings or struggle birthdays of the babies. If they dont throw the shells of the seeds away on their own i help them slightly, did that to 2 of the 10.

And thats the result of my evening shift...

10 happy babies, save for the next couple days...

may them keep up their speed !!

oh no Bam. I will grow them again in good old soil.

But you are right that this cubes are great. I think i would use them for any medium.

On the coco medium that i try right now on some haze plants, it worked as same as good as in soil.

Lookin forward to mix some soil for the MM's.

50% plagron royalty

50% canna prof. plus

+ 30l perlite

I have some nice 12l pots for the MM, biggest i used so far, wanna see something :D

thx guys, all going good so far...

All ten with their heads up standing tall :D

Because i had to water the cubes i decided to explain a little more detailed how i go, its gettin interesting now in my eyes.

My tapwater is at EC 0,3 PH 7,5

First 3-4 days i add small amounts of Rhizotonic, like half of the dosage recomended.

But this raises PH to over 8, ive seen almost 9.

PH - is my new friend for this case. 3 drips on 1,5l pinned it between 6 and 7.

post-14547-0-20645700-1352809793.jpg

EC goes slightly over 0,4

post-14547-0-67442900-1352809827.jpg

One more thing, i like to keep them short on the water, as short as possible. Much water has only done harm in most cases...

I inject 2 shots of 25ml to the cubes when i find them dry...

post-14547-0-54709500-1352809943.jpg

When i put them to the soil i start with the powder feeding, all details on that to follow.

peace

Great job, man. I guess that is what this is all about. Enlightening each other with various experiences on what works best and what does not, There are so many ways today how to grow no one can try them all.

Thats exactly what i always say, yes. So true. Actually i adapted the grodan style from clones.

They get used for clones for ages. And i thought what is good enough for a fresh cut must be good for a seed too. It was...

I always keep my eyes open and try to find things that could bring me a step further. And i never killed a seed that cracked open.

I got more the feeling that i rescued a few weak ones with the good conditions inside this cubes.

Some dont like the little stretch they get, that comes first hand from not putting it far enough into the jiffy. Second reason is that many people start on high power lighting and this will stretch seeds massive in my opinion. For the first week(s) i go smooth with the 112W combined, 5cm from heads stops every stretch.

For not believers just take a look at my haze plants, they stopped stretching and develop nice sidearms now...

You can also re-pot them deeper when moving to the big pots, i did that in the past.

Hi friends...

Very early monday morning. Can't imagine a better day / time for a short update...

All 10 girlies doin very good.

4 of them already showing nice roots. Because the 12l pots would not fit the Veg tent i decided to go back to my "bed of perlite".

This keeps the outcoming roots in a very good condition. Thats most important for happy babies....extra happy roots.

You will notice that the veg tent belongs only to the Money Makers now. Haze plants moved to my freshly finished second room.

(If you like you can watch them in another thread that i run. Everyone is welcome) http://www.strainhun...mscrog-on-coco/

As a preparation for the EC in the soil that gets used, i started the GHS POWDER FEEDING.

0,5 gram / 2 ltr of water is my dosage to create an EC of 0,8 - 1

PH- as usual to get the PH around 6,5

Powderfeeding gets used in both my grows. I actually had just my sativa powder in house when greenhouse came up with the CUP. And now i have them both.

No troubles with it so far, i love how easy it is to handle.

It mixes very well and EC + PH rates seem to be stable in the solution for at least 2 days. I dont make big amounts so far but i bet it would be stable 7 days as it says on the bag

See you in a bit...here...or in your thread....or in the chat !!

thx Jimmy.

The reaction on the EC 1 powder feed solution was so good, that i decided to to a little powderfeed

dedicated update. When you do this little amounts of feeding like i do, a good scale that u really trust

is a must have...

As u see i added 0,55 gram on the first ltr. But i keep another 1ltr of tap water

at my side to adjust.

Sometimes i do re-adjusts again, after all i have my 1,5 - 2 ltr of feeding solution.

Maybe one or two days left before soil and hps starts.

They really keep up the powerful look and grow, but the stretch stopped.

The stretch between grodan cube and the first pair of leaf is something that may look a little weird,

but in the 12l pots the girls will look a little(lot) better :nyam:

next here at potting, peace

thx friends...

We can take this day as a second start date, well i do this. You can do whatever you like lol.

I say this because the girls travelled right into the big pots and further into the HPS room.

The room is now running on 800W with the full stock of plants.

I mixed up my 3 ingedients of the soil mix to same amounts:

With a 1l measure can i added always 4l of each in a middle sized box.

This way, mixing over 100l of soil is alot more "clean and easy". Plus its 100% proper mixed, every pot the same.

Here is the whole "gang"

post-14547-0-08127400-1353624752.jpg

The last girl has moved inside too, same mix, 7l pot.

18/6 now for everyone.

On 12/12 the last MM will move back to veg tent possibly.

peace and keep it all nice and growingreen.....

Good Start and nice work bro ;)

Very interesting to see how germinates with the snake, good source of heat for the feet. Does smoking snake? lol, just kidding.

I wonder if it is possible that the contribution rockwool too much moisture to the stem, and then uses land and not coconut, we will be watching to see how they evolve

best regards friend :superblue:

yeah tokage, this boxes are all from IKEA i guess. I have them in all sizes for all sorts of purposes.

In this case i had the big tank of water inside because the 2 HPS burn alot of the room humidity.

To the soil mix: I like to mix different soils. Last grows i mixed ATAMI and PLAGRON. I do believe that every soil has its pros and cons. The CANNA soil for example has a very special ingedient wich allowes it to work without perlite. But i like the perlite and the plagron gave me good results too. So i mix.

Everything is looking fine so far.

I have my intake fans installed now, and i'll let some pics follow. Nice little system for arround 10€.

keep it green friends.

So friends, as promised here the intake system i builded.

Things you need are:

- cheap hydro beared computer fans, i took 120mm cause of the hole in my door.

- AC/DC adaptor, regulating onto 12V, i use 1500mA now, I found this in a salade of cables that i store in a box...

So cut off all the existing connectors, figure + and - potential out. Screw +'s and -'s together and screw the fans to the door. This hydro beared fans are the best low noise fans, on 1500mA i cant hear them at all.

Everything thats behind the adaptor is not dangerous at all. But wire only unplugged cables all the time pls.

One fan came for 2,90€, i ordered one extra for this price, so if i ever have a problem or need some extra air i can add the third.

I am happy with them, they fit my existing door hole perfectly and dont make any noise.

People i get a good feeling about this MoneyMaker.

Little 4 days after potting to 12l i can see some roots crawlin out on the bottom.

Seems like this girls keep up this great speed.

post-14547-0-69149500-1353966556.jpg

This is the plant to the roots, not a special one. Just the first i could reach...

post-14547-0-07272700-1353966552.jpg

I watered them today with almost 1gr. PowderFeed per ltr.

EC 1,5

PH remains at 6

Humidity of the room is on full lights only 30% but raises in nighttime.

Temperature 20-22°C in the night 28-30°C on 800W

This feeding was the only water since the 1l at repotting. And i gave 7l for the 10 girls...

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
