Oh yes Tokage. This girls are some very strong and healthy growers.

Yesterday i followed the movement of one very nice girl and got so fascinated about that i setted up the Timelape equipment for you guys.

This extreme right left wiggle turns/moves ( as i would name them ) are new in my growing. In the past i had too less light power and all the plants always only growed in direction of the bulb, no matter in wich time of life. I would call that a struggle to get more of the given light.

Now, that i use the combined 800W with this two extra widened 600W reflectors , it seems way more funny and natural for the plants.

All grow straight up, and the "twist" right to left .... for me a true sign of pleasure.

12h timelapse ends tomorrow morning, i hope we see what i saw yesterday :D

oh yes, take a look at my new video on the growhd. it is from my last grow on 400W. peace

GEIL ! Fascinating to see the movement, but I am not surprised. BTW I did the same with the intake on my grow box - is silent and crucial for the health of the plants. The only downside. You wouldn't believe the smell coming from that hole once the plants get taller : first smells like a garden with lots of green mterial, then Hashish . Always notice that when passing by. The only spot here any odor leaks out. Lights are safe..no leakage. Since I got both 400 watt HPS lights on i an watch the plants changing the angle of their leaves. for example after flushing it takes roughly 2 hours from leaves hanging down wet to standing up stretching to the lights. Depends a lot on the strain. the Himalaya Gold was extreme in that manner - Like a chalice the leaves were bent up as high as possible to the light.. looked funny. Looks like some fragolina is in the gene pool of the Money Maker, too. Leaves shape and arrangement reminds e of a strawberry plant before the fruis appear...

24 days and girls looking good - would say about same grow speed as the Damnesia at that stage..

Expect another 2 to 3 weeks to see the first little flowering being visible... When will you flush them first ?

Well that was pretty much my reaction 2 nights ago. I thought the wind has turned some leaf and my mind plays me a trick...

But i could not get it out of my head, then i was sure, they turned again. From the neutral position, 90° to the right, 180° to the left and back again.

After that i was sure i have to set up the cam.

After a little research i think it has to do with "chronobiologics". Thats about the natural clocks that every living organism has.

This turning must have to do with a sort of chain reaction to photosyntesis and the natural movement of the sun. Even if this plants never saw a moving light source, its in their genetics and a actually life progress.

Interesting is that not all plants show this behavior... But the strongest show the most turning degrees.

So you see that good genetics is the priceless way to good plants. You can be the best grower out there, with bad gens its lost case.

Another interesting point about chronobiologics is, that certain actions best be done to certain time of the day.

For example: The doc tells you to take this pill right before breakfast. Or just before gettin into bed. Often this things are timed by body inside clocks that make a specific action most effective in a given time window.

So, now that we now that every living organism is depending on chronobiologics...

It should be possible to find out a best time of feeding. I really believe that a feeding while they move would not directly affect to the plant, because she is turning last feeded due photosyntesis into growth.

When the plant dry's out we always see hangin leaf...This wont turn right to left. Because she is ready to take up the next food.

I know this was a bit tecnical and a bit too much. But i was simply fascinated...

When will you flush them first ?

First, thx Bam, i was writing my scientist post as your post flies in.

I thought about the flushing too, they are now 11 or 12 days in the soil.

My plan is to flush them just before i turn 9 into flower, and 1 for 6 hours a day back to the veg tent.

That would be in about 7 days i guess, plants are a little bit older than a month then.

What u think about that?

and Santa: I will do a lot more when the flower begins bro. Even today a new little special surprise of mine starts,

has to do with timelapse. But just follow the thread. I'm sure we all have big fun with moneymakin !!

very active plants ... when to feed and water is a mystery .. i think you can train plants when they react best, but in general my thoughts are best time is about half an hour before the lights turn on and I always give them just a little bit, so in some cases like today I check them 5 to 7 hours into the light circle and when the pot is light and soil on surface dry, I'll add another feeding with additives or plain water - half mineral water/half tap water ..only about a glass full not more .... The plants react to that like a thirsty person after a refreshing drink-with more vitality.

Yes Bam, that shows you know your job.

The pot weight is something i check several times a day. If you train yourself and lift some diffrerent plants you'll quick notice how unique every plants needs can be.

And a 12l pot soil can easy be liftet by 2 fingers if dryed out nicely. But after feeding some would say you need 2 man to move that :)

About us

Strain Hunters is a series of documentaries aimed at informing the general public about the quest for the preservation of the cannabis plant in the form of particularly vulnerable landraces originating in the poorest areas of the planet.

Cannabis, one of the most ancient plants known to man, used in every civilisation all over the world for medicinal and recreational purposes, is facing a very real threat of extinction. One day these plants could be helpful in developing better medications for the sick and the suffering. We feel it is our duty to preserve as many cannabis landraces in our genetic database, and by breeding them into other well-studied medicinal strains for the sole purpose of scientific research.
